@@PeterPee Peter I am desperate. I just purchased a full Sonos system with the Arc, 2-sub gen 3’s and 2-300s for the rear surrounds. I don’t know if I could be more disappointed. The dialogue is not good. If I play a program from either live tv or from a recording on the DVR everything is fine. But if I play something from streaming like Max, Tubi, etc or if I play a movie on DVD the dialogue is horribly low. And there is no volume adjustment for the Arc! The speech enhancement does nothing when you are playing a dvd or streaming. It makes no difference on my system at all. Extremely disappointing. To have no way to adjust the volume on the Arc/soundbar is insane especially at this price point. The first movie I played was my Blu-ray copy of San Andreas with Dolby atmos. New Sonos owner here; Arc, Gen 3 Sub, and 2 x Era 100's for surround. Discovered your channel just today and have been watching over the last couple of hours and I've learned SO MUCH! Thank you for the wonderful videos, Peter!
Hi,@@Nilsonxix - you have the exact same setup as I did initially (I purchased the Sonos Arc + Gen 3 Sub) before I got the Era 100's. I can say that the Era 100's are working GREAT. I don't have a ton of room where I installed, so the 300's just did not make sense for us as they'd have been way to close to the wall and to other furniture. The 100's had just enough space and they work beautifully. The only real thing you'd be missing with the 300's is ATMOS capable rears, which not sure how much that really means to you. For me with my setup, the Era 100's work great and really made a big difference with surround. And as you said, the 300's were a little pricey for surrounds IMO. I think you'd really be happy with a pair of 100's as surrounds! Cheers.
Great video as usual Peter! I personally really appreciate all your work on the Sonos products. You are an invaluable part of my Sonos ecosystem. Keep up the great work!

I'm not going to lie I was thinking he got me again but when you showed the settings I decided to watch the whole video because you deserve everything.
For those that have Arc + Sub Mini, I’m going to guess the recommended settings would be the same except Bass 0, Sub +3. I say that because if you compare his Beam + Sub Gen 3 and Beam + Sub Mini videos, he recommended 1 higher on Bass and 2 higher on Sub for the Mini compared to the Gen 3.
I don't think you talk too much, the more information you provide the more we all benefit so thank you very much for all the hard work !!!! I switched to Sonos mainly because of your videos.

Huh. You are right. I realised I never made that combination of testing. Actually it is not as simple as just increasing the bass. The crossover will be set differently by Sonos depending on whether the full size sub or sub mini is connected. I will have to test it out. And if the room ain’t that big, sometimes you won’t even have to bump the sub mini output up.
@@PeterPee Thank you for your reply! It would of course be great if you could test this combination (I saw some other people asking for it as well). I hope you won't be too busy with the new Era speakers ;-) . Thank you so much in advance!
Does having the volume limit set lower than 100% make a difference to the sound if you don’t go above 50% volume? Also what settings changes would you make if you pair the arc and sub mini? Thank you!
I haven't done extensive testing to the Arc and Sub Mini so I will refrain from making that call now. But if you are using that combination, try out the settings and maybe just tweak the sub settings from there. There may be some changes to the crossover point for the sub mini so bass settings may need a bit of change too. For the volume limiter, yes, it lowers the volume for everything. So it re-maps the whole volume curve lower by say 20% if you set the limit to 80.
Hi Jatin I was wondering at first been then going through his video it is not a setting. Peter is just suggesting to increase your listening volume by 15% so if you are usually listening at a volume 50 then take it up to 58.

It's really disappointing Sonos has continued to ignore Android users by making Trueplay iPhone only. Great video…my arc sounds much better now..Thanks a Lot..Just one question volume limit off and then what is about volume limit 15%? If volume limit is off then it is 100 percent right? I like lot of bass so just added bass +5 …Thanks Again….
This video together with the one from 2 years ago on tilting and trueplay has really helped me calibrating the Arc. I was disappointed one week ago but not it blasts (I also had to move back a little the two Play:3 surrounds and might need to to them to -2/-4 otherwise they overwhelm the Arc front and height channels)
@@PeterPee I watched an old 80s movie Wargames which has some heavy bass scenes. I had to keep lowering the volume, so I have dialled back sub to -2 and I'm likely not going to bother with speech enhancement, I don't feel its needed, I can hear speech fine with it off. To me it just overpowers everything and speech sounds to bright/harsh. I also leave loudness off. I left everything else the same though, thanks again, great help as always.

Sibeh Ho! I’m a fan of your channel Peter and I have a issue/question. I just got a new 2022 LG C2 OLED TV, a Sonos Arc/Sub/SL One speakers, and I got my Sonos Arc connected to the eARC port on my TV via a 2.1 HDMI cable. I am watching & streaming Dolby Atmos content on Prime Video & Netflix via my TV apps, but I’m only getting eARC 5.1 sound through the Sonos system and not Dolby Atmos. The Dolby Atmos settings on my TV are greyed out and the Sonos app is showing that I’m only getting a 5.1 signal when I’m connected to the eARC port on my TV. I tried connecting the Sonos ARC to the TV using a non-eARC hdmi port and I’m able to get Dolby Atmos only through my TV speakers. The Sonos system only works with the TV when I connect to it via the eARC port, but it doesn’t allow for Dolby Atmos. Is there a workaround for this? I hear of others experiencing the same issue with LG OLEDs and the Sonos Arc.
Hi Peter, I follow your videos on Sonos and it's been very helpful. Today, I'm coming to you with a problem I'm facing. I have a Sonos arc with a sub gen 3 and a pair of eras 300. When I play Netflix or Amazon prime video on Apple TV device, I see there is lag in the audio. I also use ugreen HDMI cable so I hope it is not the HDMI bandwidth. Can you please recommend anything that would fix the issue? Thanks in advance for your advice.
Hello Peter, great video I have an ARC the big sub and 2 One SL for the back, should I also choose the settings from you or does that only apply if you have the ARC alone?
Hi Peter, I enjoy your channel very much. I have a Sonos Arc in a home theater with Era 300 surrounds. I also have a TV for everyday viewing and a projector for watching movies in my theater room. I would like to channel both through the surround system, however I have been stumped by the one HDMI input into the Arc. I have not been able to find a switch for the TV and projector into the Arc. Do you have any recommendations? Thank you.

Do you still recommend these settings for the arc & sub after the latest updates ?
Thanks very much Pete, just in time was about to a watch a movie and been looking forward to seeing what you use.
Let us know how it went!
I’ve been an avid viewer of all your Sonos videos Peter and although some of your charts go a bit over my head you certainly know your stuff and I trust your recommendations completely. Please continue to keep us informed of everything Sonos related Thank you
Thank you for showing appreciation!
Just ordered one, will be getting it next week. I will try your settings out. thank you
Hi Peter, I follow your videos on Sonos and it's been very helpful.
Great video Peter! Helped me configure my sonos setup better.
Just found your channel and your content is great. I appreciate you giving the goods at the start.
Thanks a lot John! This means a lot to me!
I'll try this when the ARC arrives in a week. Thanks.
SIBEH HO!!! Love your vids Peter. They have helped me decide what to purchase and how to properly set them up.
Many thanks.
The latest update has reminded me why I bought Sonos. But your settings have made me leave my tv on all day!

Ha! Thanks for staying with me on my channel fellow Singaporean!
Hello Peter, great video I have an ARC the big sub and 2 One SL for the back, should I also choose the settings from you or does that only apply if you have the ARC alone?
It applies.
The comparison at the end says everything. Excellent Video.
Glad that helps!
Thank you.
Thanks for your good spirit. I really appreciate that sharing the core Contant at the beginning I was so appreciate how detailed you always been.
Do you have recommended settings for the arc with a sub mini?
You are money with your upfront summary.
I can trade the play time as I set it up n try your recommended settings myself! 👍🏼
Thank you Peter, your content is SUPERB! Just got a BUNCH of Sonos Tech.
Living Room: Arc+Gen3+Era300’s

Thanks so much for this! I love your help tweaking my ARC. If only we can get the front channel adjustment...

Really impressed Pete with your fine detailing, surprising how much different in changes the sound.

Sibeh ho. Thank you. Is it only for audio? Can you do something like this for music listening?
Sibeh Ho… and thanks, I always come to your channel for all my Sonos questions. Keep up the great work..
My pleasure! And I am thankful for your trust!
loved your explanation. my query is, can youtube actually dish out the audio differences.. i dont think yourube supports Dolby Atmos, hence for us, it wont make any difference.. i did not mean to disrespect you at all here, i am just showing my curiosity, i could be highly mistaken too.. so please feel free to correct me if i am wrong here. thanks in advance.🙂
Sibeh ho! I’m getting the Sonos Arc, Sub (Gen3), and Ones and I’m tying to consume as much content as possible so I can properly squeeze every ounce of performance out of the system. Depending how things go, I might get the Fives next year. I’ve been going through your videos and the content is excellent. Terima kasih (Xie xie, thank you, gracias) for the great work.
Thank you for the video. Would you say this settings still apply today after the recent updates? Thank you
