    And.... the Core Crush issue.

    Do not buy till they fixed all their problems. Overprice, terrible quality control and customer service After a few games you can hear cracking sound. Thank you for your honest reviews.

    You didn't hear about the core crushing? What I don't get is we are trying to stay away from the trampoline effect caused by things like core crushing. But for the Joola Gen3, they purposely engineered it to have that trampoline effect. Don't get it

      I have a couple paddles in our group and did not experience core crushing but heard about it very recently but did not feel comfortable addressing in the video as we do not know how widespread this it is yet, but I did pin a comment bringing it up and I address it in an upcoming podcast episode!

    It makes sense for the 14mm to be more control. The dwell time should be longer since the core is thinner, which would allow it to flex more with less force.

    So curious how do you like your Magnus paddle ? I’m thinking about this one myself although your review is put a bad taste about the JOOLA line up.🤪

      The paddle is one of the best on the market IF it has all the consistent features it should have, if you do get one just expect complications with consistency with the added core crushing you will likely use the warranty as your best friend

    Are you playing with a 14mm or 16mm here? I'm coming from a gen 2 16mm Perseus (which I liked), but feel more comfortable with the gen 3 14mm Perseus.

      14mm in the video but I have tried all of them. I used to use the gen 2 16mm perseus too!

    Been trying to reach them to return mine. No answer of customer support line. Left a message and no call back. No email reply. Been two weeks. Horrible customer service. Never will I buy another Joola paddle.

      I had a lot of trouble but this rep helped me to the best of their ability, not sure if she will respond but the person I was working with for my issues had this email: pmartinez@sport-squad.com She was customer support for paddles bought through Joola website

      Agreed. I went through the same issues with their customer service team. No contact form on website, no one answers phone or replies to customer’s VM’s and then are sporadic at best in replying to your needs. Took me over 3 weeks to return (2) brand new paddles since I wanted to receive my $550 back before I paid interest on my CC. It’s a total joke to me in this day and age (VM, Email, Phone, Text) that we as the pickleball community allow them to continue operating with such blatant disrespect to their customer base. I say we boycott these guys and show them there are plenty of choices outside of their defective paddles especially coupled with poor QC and awful customer service to go along with far too overpriced paddles. People will not see the improvement in their game to justify this $300 cost, even if the paddles were made better and didn’t break, so Joola is receiving hundreds of calls/emails per day to return them back for a refund before their 30 days are up.

    ohh, that plastic strip underneath the handle is actually a chip which you can pair with your smart phone should you wish to register your paddle with joola for purposes of activating its warranty .. it's not a con, but an ignorance on your part to have the same removed 😢😮😂

    • @Professor_Pickleball
      @Professor_Pickleball  2 месяца назад +1

      it was plastic wrapping. you are talking about the chip which is the white panel glued on the paddle. Plastic wrap does not have electrical wiring and Bluetooth connection...

  • @chandlereyre8792
    @chandlereyre8792 3 месяца назад

    Is the plastic under the stock grip that white piece? I have seen two of these and one perseus is black with a little bevel shape above the grip and the other is white like you showed.. not sure if it's production or just an error in QC?

    • @Professor_Pickleball
      @Professor_Pickleball  3 месяца назад +1

      The plastic under the grip is the plastic we were ripping off in the video. The white piece is the chip to renew the paddle

    • @chandlereyre8792
      @chandlereyre8792 3 месяца назад

      @@Professor_Pickleball I see. The manager at my local store was actually just saying that plastic wrap is meant to be there on purpose in the other one's he has seen and replaced grips on.. I've only seen mine because I just took the grip off my hyperion to replace it and it had that same black plastic wrapping yours had.
      For the record, my bevel is also that manilla white color, whereas all the other gen 3's in his shop had a black bevel. Unsure if they've changed production in different batches or what that is. But I haven't experienced the squeaking. It's felt great so far!

    I’d like to ask how would you compare the Magnus gen 3 to GB Power pro I do own that paddle and haven’t used my black diamond again nor my E paddle any reviews would be appreciated 👍🏻

    • @Professor_Pickleball
      @Professor_Pickleball  3 месяца назад +1

      I haven’t used the gearbox power but I hands that the magnus has more control and pop than it, power wise it’s very marginal. Haven’t used the dbd but I used the ruby as my main paddle until recently and since dbd and ruby are basically the same the only leg up the ruby has over the magnus I would say is drops and hand speed.
