  • Floridians are now set to get another billion-dollar tax break in the coming fiscal year, including on their insurance. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) signed the plan into law, Tuesday morning. It marked a total of about $6.7 billion that he and Florida lawmakers have approved during DeSantis' tenure as Florida’s chief executive. The most recent package's top-line provisions include a year-long waiver of insurance premium taxes on homeowners’ and flood insurance policies. But there is a lot more.

Florida has the highest inflation in the country because companies come here to pay employees nothing, pay next to or literally nothing in state corporate taxes, and these same companies are some of the biggest offenders of the price fixing & gouging thats been going on around the country. How many major executives have been recorded talking about how inflation afforded them an opportunity to raise prices... during a global pandemic, while making record profits, and while working class people are barely scraping by, loosing everything, or having to leave Florida before living here inevitably makes losing everything happen. Buy this governor is banning water breaks for employees, finding ways to lower the state minimum wage and rolling back child labor laws... cartoonish level of serving the rich at every possible opportunity at the expense of working class Floridians.

No state income tax in Florida. My father was paying 9k in property tax on a 150k house in Connecticut and 360 quarterly taxes on his car!

Home ownership is a lie. They just changed the word Rent to Property Tax, so you'll maintain it. Stop paying the taxes and you'll meet the real owners. Your lease of rules and regulations is at the town that you never signed or agreed to. Scam.

Sales tax on insurance premiums,? What a joke. Fl charges the tax and agrees to give some back. You can bet most of the tax "relief" is going to corps and the rich.

Yes - lets go with trickle down economic and give the rich riches, and the rest no universal healthcare, free university, regulated rents and paid maternal leave

Nothing is free my friend. And there are not enough rich people to cover the bills. What we need is more businesses to provide those nice wages. The middle class always gets stuck because they cannot demand raises to cover increased taxes (to cover the free stuff).

@@globalfamily8172 Well. Actually the Scandinavian countries manage to have a free and regulated market. And - those systems have excelled in comparison to liberal economics.

If other countries can afford free medical care, education etc. it's because they don't have a military industrial complex and a Pentagon that hasn't passed an audit in decades. Plus a past president who gave 7.8 billion in tax cuts primarily benefiting the rich. @@globalfamily8172

But he doesnt fix the insurance problem. He needs to get his head around parametric insurance, letting owners self insure loss, alternative investment in insurance. 30% of insurance premium goes to agents, more automation. STOP FLYING TO ISREAL and grandstanding at UF and focus on a REAL INSURANCE FIX...
