Love the dude who’s secret is eat a handful of cheese-it’s. True relatable king 👑
I think what we learned today is all photographers look like they could star in a movie and have a really interesting backstory.
I was thinking that the whole time, and I'm glad this was the first comment I saw lol.
Jessica, you have got to keep doing these interviews! I enjoyed every minute, every story, comment, advice and answer. How Fun!
Not the one hiding behind the bush 😂😭 I liked this concept a lot. As someone who isn’t a photographer I’m so glad i picked a cheaper hobby/profession
You can get into it for relatively “cheap”. Get 20 year old gear used, you can get a FF camera and trinity set for under 2k usd
My worst photography experience was when a new photography came into my area and used my photo to promote their photography business. I called them out and they apologized immensely. Then they proceeded to go behind my back and steal all of my clients with cheaper prices and free shoots. Whatever, it was concert photographer (not my favorite clientele at all). My blow up moment was when I was signed on to be the one and only primary event photographer at a festival. A week before the event I found out the bands were hiring this new person to take photos of their sets even though I was already planned to be there for all day coverage. The coordinator couldn't afford me anymore because he was planning on having the bands chip in to pay for photos and they had all went with someone else. I pulled out of that event for breach of contract, and the other photographer ended up shooting the whole festival for next to nothing and I lost all of my bands I worked with in my area, and a ton of friends that never understood just how much this meant to me. This person made a career off of stealing my photos, clients and friends. I would not recommend concert/band photography to my worst enemy (except maybe that other photographer, they can have them!). It was a horrible experience.
Wow . I’m sorry. I hope everything is better for you now
Better clients on the way, take heart and be optimistic.
Damn, I know that sucked, but if someone could have led them away with cheaper prices, the yweren't loyal anyway!
still, getting the rug pulled out wasn't fun. How did you move on from that?
Worst experience - shooting in a combat zone under fire. That and getting a camera snatched out of my hand by a 12' alligator while neck deep in a swamp.
you can't leave us in suspense
did you get the camera back? did your hand go with it? how did you get out of the water?
@iunderstanphotography2780 the lens got semi crunched. Still have my hand. 😂
I have such bad facial memory that I thought for months two guys I went to uni were one guy. Both white, slightly overweight, black hair.
It’s pretty common to mistake people I feel. Heaven forbid the person is another race and you get accused.. smh
My wedding was cheap 😭 I don’t have 10s of thousands of dollars sir and I still needed a photographer lol besides, it was still cute.
I had a "micro" wedding so definitely a cheap wedding too, but we made sure to invest in a good photographer and are sooo grateful to him
you probably DIDN'T put your photographer through Hell, ask for metallic prints and leather bound books for grandparents for $100. You appreciated what you received and cherish the memories
edit -I had to edit my post haha I meant the OP had a cheap wedding and a good time and didn't abuse her photographer like many do
@@iunderstanphotography2780 that is an assumption
As a young Turtwig in shooting photos i support and appreciate this content for motivation to be better
I love this, please make it a series! Lol

Worst Experience
Some years ago, a MUA i followed on facebook set up a shoot with a designer, model, make up and hair and added me as the photog. I was so happy to get a chance to work with a full team like the pro photographers i saw at the time
Short version
We got together in the afternoon to shoot natural light outside. The make up and hair took so long, trying to achieve a certain look with eyelashes, it began to get dark outside. By the time they were finished, it was dusk, and I had No off camera flash with me! I punched up the iso as much as I could, and then I had to use ...on camera flash smh
Needless to say the pictures did not wind up in Vogue magazine. I edited and delivered the photos, I don't think anyone was really happy with it, and the mua kinda stopped talking to me on facebook. I felt like a sucker
What I learned
Be prepared! ALWAYS bring a strobe/flash and modifier no matter what, unless its the middle of tehe day
Take control of the shoot
The photographer takes the fall if people are late, hair and make up go over time, etc so make sure other people are on time and get their parts done so YOU can do your thing
I was riding in a tall ship race with a real photographer (I'm just a snapshot guy). He was complaining that his aftermarket batteries were losing their charge quickly. I never really trusted aftermarket batteries and this is a good example. Why spend big money on cameras and lenses, only to cheap out on batteries? A camera with an unreliable battery is almost useless.
Haha, awesome video!
9:57 This is key.
One of my favourite videos. 😉😃
nice one!
Taylor Jackson's responses are GREAT!!!
What event is this?
You gotta interview the war photographers. Different breed I assure you.
7:56 Kendrick has Drake hiding out at photography conventions now?
Sooo many RUclips folks I recognize
What the heck I never knew Gerald was so tall. I’ve never seen him standing next to something to compare his height
This was such a cool video! Also we neeeed more female photographers.
Gerald is so tall ...😅i'm done!
is Gerald Undone that talllll damn
Gerald is like 12ft tall
Is the guy behind the plant the one who thinks all black men look alike? 😅
Yes don’t take cheap weddings lol
Hey Jessica , very good video . I can do better editing in your videos which can help you to get more engagement in your videos . Pls lmk what do you think ?
1:16 dude blames clients for his snobbery.... Smh
Yeah.. they all look the same.
Dude that black guy is being racist. Jessica you shouldn’t have included that, he just thought this guy looked like someone he knew.
I have that with white people all the time. Especially tall girls with blond hair -_-.
They are beautifull, it's just that if there is one type of person I can't distinguish it's blond tall girls
Girl...calm tf down. It was just a light hearted comment. If anything the white guy was racist thinking all black people look the same. It happens way too often.
