DFN is paying a dividend next month... maybe pick some of that up? I've been buying when it was at $3.75 to give me over 30% yield, I feel it will pay dividends again fairly consistently next year when bank interest rates drop.
I made similar changes when I saw the portfolio changes video as a PII member. Those new Horizons ETFs, along with CONY, JEPY, and QQQY brought my dividends up considerably. Thanks Adrian.👍
8:11 JEPY & QQQY are not a covered call strategy, theyre put write etf's. Having that much in put selling etf's will be brutal if (when) we have a market down trend. The price of the funds obviously will tank, but what will happen to the monthly option premium? I assume its going to be much smaller on the put side compared to where its at (and compared to call selling etf's) in our current market climate. And why get rid of CONY now with the biggest distributions coming?
The only saving grace is that those that hold these funds in an IRA, and want to do a Roth conversion, the blow-up will allow devalued shares to be converted with less tax consequences. For everyone else, these funds need to select the correct strike prices and adjust distributions to make everything sustainable.
How would your strategy change if you didn't need the dividends to live? Would you just drip the dividends back into the etfs, or would you own something completely different?

Very good Adrian , sold my eit 2 months ago and htae last month and replaced with qqqy ...the reason for my sell off is to take my capital gains and replace it with a higher yield , I own 17 different ETFs and will sell most with a capital gain , I don’t fall in love with a etf . 😊

How much of the 402K realized profit have you spent? Do you have cash set aside for more investments ready to go? I don't see a line item for cash in the spreadsheet.
@@Adman-p4j That can't be the case, because if so, then at 29:40 on the right the "Total Portfolio Value + Total Profit" would not make sense. You can't count realized profit twice. If realized profit is reinvested, then it would be part of the current portfolio. He could have realized gains and losses on individual holdings, but you can't add $760,000 and $402,333 to get $1,162,333. If he sold it all today, he'd have $760,000 from his account plus $402,333 from under his bed, or maybe he spent some on living expenses, trips or whatever, with a total return of 46.4% by my calculation.
I thought the same, if the income received is reinvested, then the current portfolio value includes this income.
