I was a HVAC Tech for over 20 years and I carried a Leatherman Wave for a good bit of that time. I used it a lot for mounti g thernostats. The saw was great fir cutting inti sheetrock, the old style had a knotch at the wire cutters that was perfect for striping t'stat wire and it had the perfect t'stat screwdriver. I am now in sales and carry the smaller SOG Powerpint. I lost my Leatherman and miss thet tool!
I carry a pocket size high output stream light led light in one of my cargo pockets, a Benchmade folding knife, and a 1000 lumen flashlight inside my belt on a tool I pray I never have to use.
I’ve carried a leatherman wave for 2 years or so and upgraded to a charge tti. I’ve been using leathermans for 3-4 years now and there’s no way I can live without one now.
I have carried a small multitool in my pockets for years and have always found it useful. One use for the saw is ripping open those little cushioning air bags found in boxes. I can just drag that across those little bags to cut them open and deflate them in a few seconds. For flashlights, I prefer the type that take 18650 batteries. That way if I am using my flashlight a lot and it gets low, I can just pop in a fresh battery and recharge the other one.
I'd love a multitool with a bunch of long flatheads in order to use them on any screws, if I really have to unscrew multiple scews, i just check my toolbox and bring proper tools
I bought the same Fenyx as well and am sadly not as pleased with it as the Thrunite I got in 2014. As for Leathermans the Wave, Charge, and surge are super popular for easy open knives, and extra tools. I just carry a Rebar and a separate knife since I only use specific tools on it and the softer knife steels on the Rebar and Wave are a pain. Hope you do more reviews, I saw you got a pair of those Knipex plier wrenches and am curious if those are any good.
ALWAYS carry a spare key (doesn't even need to be a 'starting key') in your pocket. I lock my keys in my van an embarrassing amount of times in given month, but it's no big deal with that extra key always on me. I'm really paranoid about leaving my van unlocked, and that's usually when it happens. I'll set my keys in the seat or inside the back of the van while I'm getting something then lock and shut the door before I walk off and.....CRAP....got a spare made after the first time I did that and haven't had that problem since.
I think any multitool is invaluable. I have a generic one in my Carhartt leg pocket every day. Having pliers, a flathead screwdriver, wire cutters all in one always in reach is as efficient as I can get. Also keep an OLFA knife and terminal driver on me.
I like that flash light but Idk about the holster set up. I carry a Milwaukee pen flash light, and I’m a blade guy so spyderco paramilitary in the pocket and utility in the back. Chest pockets I carry most of my short bits and Klein multi t stat screwdriver, sharpie pro, magnet t stat screwdriver, pneumatic t stat tools, knipex 5” cobra plier. I love that little cobra plier.
Home Depot has a Husky brand with a strong magnet, 90 degree swivel head and uses 4 AA batteries. You could get some rechargeable AA batteries. It’s more of a tool bag size. Olight has some small EDC rechargeable lights with magnets. Check out the Perun model from them.
surprised to see only one bladed article carried on your person. every other american person who talks obsessively about their 'edc' normally has a minimum of 5 knives on them.
Fenix is the sh*t , I've got the same one and a couple other models too . Check out the new headlamp they came up with , the HM65r-T same battery , USB C , light as a feather and super beright spot AND flood light . Also Chris you live in California so these days you have to say Leatherman AND Leatherwoman , how dare you !
that small bonesaw blade come in handy when up in attic and need to cut a piece of pvc!
Great idea, thanks!
@@HVACRTOOLS the spine of the saw has a nice sharp edge that I use to de burr or scrape pvc or copper pipe
Horrible idea, just grab pvc cutters
The bone saw makes the perfect drywall knife
@@gregorywebb1354 If I need to debur a cut pipe im using my leatherman.... everything I cut is with a sawzall.

The “saw“ with the hook on it is awesome too cut pipe isolation 😎
LOVE my fenix flashlights. Probably have 10+ of them between headlamps, large-ish EDC ones all the way down to the small LD02

Nice vid, the ideal type of video I would like is a sort of basic truck stock video. Such as what tools you have with you on jobs. 👍
I Love my Leatherman carry it everyday. Save few trips to the truck.
Whenever possible I would like to know what tubing bender you prefer.

Good one bud and you can order lots of other things from the factory for the tools you don’t use look into it

Good vid Chris ...
I usually carry my invoices as well...
A gerber pocket knife, sharpie, pen, multi thermostat screwdriver, husky flashlight like 200 lumens and ncv pen is what I usually carry on me
Awesome!

Amazon sells a tactical plastic holster for the UC 35. It’s only $13 dollars. It’s perfect. Best setup I’ve carried in 14 years in the trade

Same for me. Even on "civil" dress.
Wowo $99 for that light. you may want to check out sofin lights.
I carry a leatherman surge and streamlight every day. My most used tools.
Exactly the same for me. Surge is the only Leatherman for me.

Zebralight, ftw
$75 for a tiny flashlight?
we have different definitions of "everyday carry" haha what's your REAL everyday carry seeing how you work in Southern California?
One day I forgot my flash light and Leather. I found myself reaching for my belt all day.
It's almost worse than forgetting pants in the morning.
If only the flashlight had a magnet I'll will buy it. I need one with a magnet.

What do they do with the other three blades when they're already Dual Wielding knives?
