PSA: Any version of this receiver that has a silver bind button will also have 0402 inductors and an XTAL that is not matched correctly, resulting in failsafes under common circumstances. Be sure you are using the gold button version of these receivers. @@rgbosio So far all “gold button” Matek Diversity RXs have 0603 inductors, a good XTAL and I believe longer antennas than the default pic of a silver button rx. There should be no modifications needed, though there is now a ‘debugging’ option in the ELRS fw. I recommend this as a temporary fw to test performance if you’re worried (or have a silver button rx), then reflash without the ‘debugging’ option. Short answer: should be good brother 🤙
My experience with this rx has been really odd. I'm using version 2.51 because of my spi quads that cannot run version 3.0. My tx is updated to the latest version and I'm using a pass phrase. I used the wifi method to update the firmware on the rx, and it worked as expected. However nothing moves in the receiver tab... but telemetry works perfectly amd I see my current consumption, satellites, and everything. On my last try I flashed the rx through a betaflight pass-through and it failed at 80% I now have a solid red light and need to flash the bugger through a uart...
Very interesting, thanks Andrew. I love the Matek gear also but its appears to be identical to the RadioMaster RP1 which is much cheaper.. Are you using the internal ELRS module with the Zorro or have you a decent external module?? Cheers mate..
The RP1 doesn't have antenna diversity like this, no antenna switcher, only a single ipex connector. Nor the lna, the antenna amplifier, that this does.
You could show that without getting in trouble but it would need a different setup on the ground to avoid any trouble. You just need a line of singht connection over some km and deploy the rc plane on the ground and use the camera to show ailerons and rudder working via the goggles. Easiest legal way to show the range. Regarding matek elrs : I like matek flight controllers for wing a lot and had assumed that the matek elrs would be the same built quality. my Matek receivers had a horrible built quality, the smd components not really aligned and the frequency was at the edge - radiomaster TX16S where the remote usually has no issues. Therefore I had been disappointed this time with the elrs, the FC shipped same day was again rock solid. Looked like from 2 different assembly lines or 2 different workers maybe. You did not mention if diversity is a native feature of elrs or if they had added code and parts on the board to achieve it. I have not seen diversity elrs receivers even though I had thought to have watched all of the ELRS released in the past 1,5 years in the market. I had diversity only once before I guess frsky which you had recommended back in the days when FrSky was at a different level. thanks
Hi I connect my R24D to Matek CRSF to PWM converter The R24D has a solid red LED but the Converter blink blue It seems it already connect with my remote since it has network icon and disappear when I disconect the Receiver But I have a problem. The Servo didn't move even though I toggle the remote *Previously I already binded the RX and TX. I used F405Wing and installed INAV. But the FC is burnt that's why I use PWM converter
Dot know about the converter but this is what the manual says - LED status slow blinks: CRSF-PWM board doesn’t receive CRSF signal, e.g., receiver is not bound with transmitter, receiver is not connected to UART1 of CRSF-PWM board. 8x quick blinks: CRSF-PWM board received CRSF signal and failsafe value is saved. (firmware 1.1.1 or older) solid ON: CRSF-PWM board and receiver are working normally 2x slow blinks between 8x fast blink and solid on: CLI mode is active (firmware 1.1.1 or older)
I cannot update the firmware in ExpressLRS configurator "FC Found in COM 6 Connecting......" Then build error I also tried using expresslrs webflasher Cannot detect RX Target, blindly flashing I kept trying using Speedybee App Compilation failed Do you have any sugesstion? I really need your help Thanks
Andrew, I have the same rx and I can only flash it selecting the device "Matek 2400 RX". If I select device "Matek 2400 RX R24D" I get an error "...target does not match". I spent a day trying to find some information. Any help or direction would help. Thanks in advance.
Very odd Bruno. Try saving the target locally, then using the popup wifi screen to flash. I find the flashing process a bit flaky and intermittent sometimes.
@@nikotttin Yes, with 2.5 there is a diversity check box but with 3.x the diversity check box is removed and you select the proper device. I'm waiting for my TTL device to arrive and I will try via USB...
Just got one, Wired into UART6 on my F4 omni. Fired up. updated via wifi on phone. Bound to TX... kept losing and gaining telemetry while sitting there. Plugged into betaflight.... no RX inputs...wtf. Tried the usual settings but nothing. Then tried to get into the wifi again... solid red LED... no bind to tx anymore.... no WIFI after XX seconds... nothing at all. Tried passthrough...nothing... WTF is wrong with it. I have a radiomaster RX spare here maybe should put it in but onto the SBUS pads rather than a uart? IDK I'm lost
Good to have an Aussie reviewer reviewing ELRS stuff when the main ELRS developers are Aussie as well.
who cares about their nationality. We should have chinese reviewing these since they are built there!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the alert Chadd. Very tricky hidden issue!
Chadd, I have the version with the gold button, it just arrived to me. Should I be careful, do some mod, remove the caps too?

Great info. Hopefully Matek sent you a R24-V ELRS to review as well. (V meaning for vario, having a barometer)
I'll have to drop some hints for that one!
do you connect it to crossfire pad on fc? thank you

where can you get software to flash this rx?

Search ELRS bind
