Video kept as short as possible while covering every step to wire up a dash cam to the fuse box which will then allow the camera to turn on and off with the cars ignition.

I just did this on my 2011, but connected the ACC wire to the 12v socket in the footwell. Very easy to lower the panel, un plug the 12 volt connector, pull the wires out and splice in a wire to run to the side fuse box. Then you can make all your connections there.

Nice, but why didn't you use the fuses near the front, that's a lot more work running the cable all the way to the back of the car.

Hi, if I want to have the dash cam running continually, can I use the front fuse box , I have the same fitting kit as you are showing,

You could use a constant live from the front fuse box, just make sure it's a accessory circuit fuse you use. Be aware that most(but not all) dash cams are not designed as 24hr surveillance devices but some do have a parking mode that needs both a constant live and a switched live.
Also have a look at the power consumption for the camera due to it being a constant drain on the cars battery if the car is not used daily.

you are on fuse number 53, is that permanent plus or ignition plus ??

On that particular ML it would have been an ignition switched.

@@PJsprojects I have 2 cables, one for constant current and one for ignition plus. But I only want to record while driving, not when parking because of the battery
