Probably because Nero canonically wins that fight, the ending wouldn't make sense if you beat Nero as Vergil since the whole fight is Vergil being proven wrong about his need for power, whereas the fight with Dante doesn't matter who wins because either way it leads into the loss to Nero

@@TheBeastlyBomber Well if you'd like to keep it to Canon, Nero didn't have any devil breakers in the fight so designing a boss fight where all he has is his base moveset and his DT would be really hard to make it a close fight even casually so Nero just getting the last hit and declaring victory would be bad, if you'd like to bring it to development, they probably just couldn't be bothered to design a Nero boss when they already made a Dante fight, especially if they are actually working on a DMC6

Vergil is shown more powerful than Dante most of the time lol. In DMC 3 he showed up and kicked Dante’s ass. Same thing for DMC 5 where he wrecked Dante + Nero as Urizen.
Vergil got stronger in DMC V thanks to the fruit, Dante, however, had to get his own Power up by fusing his broken sword with Sparda, but I feel like Dante SIn devil trigger is MORE POWERFUL but at the same time more unstable, which it shows every time he turns back he is kneeling in the floor meanwhile Vergil's SIN DT doesn't affect him and he even has a doppelganger but is less powerful but has no "recoil" like Dante's.
The only sad thing about this is that I can't hear the bury the light till the end because he killed Dante too fast And this madlad also did this on DMD mode What a legend
