The bear law WILL be abused. Humans encroach on the territory of other species, then wonder why there are issues. This happens throughout the country.
There used to be a lot more wildlife where I live in Florida; not so much now. That includes the canal in my backyard. There used to be more gators, now there is less than a handful. Increase in construction, and contamination of the canal in the primary cause.
FYI: I've lived in other states, and other places around the world, and far more wildlife species than here, but what I have learned is people need to be more responsible, as well as pay attention to your sorroundings. That helps everybody's safety.
bears have walked my neighborhood since i have been here, a couple decades... i have ran across a bear coming the other way on the sidewalk, with my dog. we crossed over, i shut the dog up, and i had the wonderful feeling of seeing such a lovely creature amble away with great patience and presence..... LEAVE THE BEARS ALONE.
What happens when in inept shooter wounds a bear and then you have an angry injured bear on the loose.

@@fredsmith4438 exactly, 20 years in Florida, grew up here, all my education and college here too and I never ever heard of Florida bears. But I'm south Floridian so I'm guessing the bears are way up north.

The world is so complicated today because religion is not as much a part of people's lives as it was in the past. In my opinion this new Florida's law allowing religion at schools is one of the best things that is happening. I'm sorry to see people complaining or even being against this initiative.
