Tap into the sound of two blistering guitar amplifiers in a single pedal with the MXR FOD Drive. MXR carefully analyzed two heavily modded guitar amplifiers: one optimized for heavily scooped high-gain tones and the other for extreme midrange punch. The result was an epic wall of guitar tone, and the FOD Drive packs that tone into a convenient stompbox. Each “amp” has its own Gain and Output controls - tweak them individually, then balance them with the Blend control just like you would on a mixing board.

The dual amp tones in this stompbox are absolutely massive! Which side are you on? Team mid-forward, team mid-scooped, or somewhere in between?
Depends on if the neighbours are home.
Somewhere in between.... excellent tone!
Best demo of this pedal that I’ve seen by FAR - thanks! 👍
Thank you for taking the time to show each side separately and then how they blend together! It was an excellent demo!
It's his job to do this
Love those crunch tones! I’ll be checking this as an addition to my board
Pedal sounds great! But I wish they made the two internal crunch controls external.
Intro had me for a sec thinking it was Tornado of Souls
I was thinking the same thing!
One of the best marshall style amp in a box pedal.ive played
That's really amazing good. Love it!
This is just an updated Dookie amp pedal. And it is fantastic. Great for early Green Day sounds.
The crunch is Marshall no doubt. Saturated more Vox?
I could be wrong. I like MXR pedals, must get my paws on this. It’s a rebadged Dookie isn’t it?
Yeah it is
Pretty sick sound dude.
So this is basically a dookie pedal but for all year round stock…. Do like the design on this one a lot but seen some people say it’s similar to the dookie drive but missing that certain something what do you reckon?
Would love to know exactly which two amps this pedal is emulating - it doesn’t actually say in any MXR blurb that I’ve read. Neat idea though, would be interested to try this pedal out.
Probably marshall and ac30
I think this is just a re-housed Dookie MXR from a couple years ago without their signature design on it. The original was based on two of Billie Joe’s modded Marshall’s (I forget which ones but I’m sure you could find out with a quick google search)
@@ChrisMaher4 that’s exactly what the FOD is
its the dookie pedal sans silly graphics
@@minuscaseus No Billie Joe doesn't use a Mesa Boogie at all, never has. It's a modded Marshall 1959 Super lead modded so it cascades the front end. And the second amp is just another Super lead modded a little bit differently with an extra gain stage I believe. Both amps were modded by LA sound . The sound Billie had for Insomniac was achieved by layering JCM800s and using his Marshall mod. I believe an article in guitar world talked about how they got a heavier guitar sound by layering the rhythm guitar tracks with the 800s and using different EQ settings.
Nice, there's a beast of a pedal.
Jim Dunlop Mike Matthews Michael Fuller.. 3 guitar pedal geniuses
holy sh!t it sounds so unique and special! SOOOOOO different from all the other overdrives
Thanks
I was gonna say Dookie mod within the first 30 seconds. Sounds good!
Same circuit as their Dookie Drive
its basically the same pedal@@AsyncVoid
Man. You can't get a bad sound out of this circuit into a edgy fender amp. I was ignoring this one. Not anymore.
is this pedal the same as the the mxr dookie drive pedal???
Hi, Navey! Thanks for your message, hope you're well and safe.
Yes, the FOD is a rebranding of the Dookie Drive.
Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them!

@@sweetwater thanks mate
Near the end of the video at about 6:30 he says the FOD drive is the same as the Dookie drive , but the FOD drive has a mid-boost that the Dookie drive does not have.
Friedman OD 😎
Cant find the GD dookie pedal so i guess this will do
you mean fod?
1 sec in I realized it was a worthless video without the reference tone. Yes this took 10x longer to write than the time I watched the video 😂
Ok, so this is the same Green Day pedal, but with a mid boost.
This is an overdrive pedal? Or an amp modulator? Should it go in the effects loop or straight into the amp?
Hi, Rob. At its core this is an overdrive/distortion pedal. For best results I would use it into the front end of a clean amplifier.
Thanks for your interest!
