    This Pedal is amazing.... I have had the Timeline & BigSky and like most people I only used about 20% of its power & settings..... so it was always like having over a $1000 just sitting on my board... so I sold both for $800 and bought this for $300 and it has everything needed! 2 Get Delays and an Amazing Reverb from bread and butter verbs to great ambients!!! As a worship player it is perfect!

      I am surprised that you liked the ocean machine more than timeline and BigSky,really it means you didn't spend much time into discovering what they can offer,the sound quality of Strymon is second to none,this Mooer pedal is not close even a mm to Strymon.I have BigSky and soon I'm getting the a Timeline.These two are the perfect match and super quality sounding pedals if you know how to use them Ofcourse.But you already had everything what the Mooer cannot give you anymore,this new pedal to me is just hyped to much.

      T.I.N Mateus I never said the OM offered more I said from a (Use to Value Standpoint) the OM is far superior.... if you have hours and hours to tweak go with TL & BS... if you want a similar sounding pedal, easy to dial in and you actually want to "Play" Guitar, go with OM! In the worship community all the greats have TL & BS and all say the same thing, they still only use a handful of sounds in a live setting.... that's what I'm saying'

    After the time and effort you've put into creating this demo I can't believe 12 people have given it the thumbs down. If these people spent more time trying to add something positive to the world instead of putting down people who do, we'd all be better off. Anyway, that aside, thanks for the demo it was really useful. I've just ordered the pedal and I'm looking forward to tinkering!

    This unit is pretty inspiring... and like Devin says, if you just think of it as replacing a reverb and 2 delays, you're missing the point of what it can do. Watch Devin's demo of it, you can change the effect order and type *while they're repeating*. Throw a looper into the mix, and you can do absolutely ridiculous ambient textures with it. That's what it was made for.

    Great review. I believe a lot of people are missing the point. Devin designed it so he could have HIS sound in one pedal to take along with him for practice or writing without the need for a lot of complex gear. I also believe he wanted it to be affordable for most people who couldn't afford a Fractal or Kemper system. When I first heard this, I thought it's great for those who want Devin's ambient type sounds, not for a gigging musician who needs basic delay and reverb for top 40. I have a EH Cathedral reverb and an Carbon Copy delay on my board and a Fractal AX8 in my studio. This pedal is perfect to just plug into an amp and go with most of my bases covered while getting a totally different 'flavor' than my other effects. Maybe I'm missing something here? And of course I'm paraphrasing Devin...Thanks again for this awesome review!!

    I bought one the other day - I can’t stop playing with it! Knocked it out of the park Devin and Mooer 👍 Now, for those who want these boring run of the mills reverbs etc, yeah maybe stick to the same old gear. But for someone who uses effects to write, this is very awesome, I am playing and writing non stop.

    I've had one for a few months now.. it constantly surprises and never ever disappoints. Dam thing is pure inspiration in a box. Can see how a cover artist might not enjoy it.. she's a bit over the top at times and not what I'd call generic (wich is what you want when emulating known classics) but for me.. it's a game changer.

    45:03 ... you can detect the "drip" sound in the spring reverb before this but when that knob was turned up, you can really hear it. This sounds like a pretty good spring reverb even some surf guitarists might like.

    Thank you so much...it’s definitely got a wow factor to it....one thing for sure, is this....the Ocean Machine is an instrument within its self.
    You must spend time with it, it’s not meant to be mastered in a day, week, month or even a year...but I want to be around when the right person figures out how to use it, play it, and becomes a master of it...that will really be something to witness...”ITS THAT TYPE OF MACHINE!” Only a few people will ever be willing to dedicate the time to this machine necessary to master it, and that will be worth the wait!

    I bought this pedal for my electric Oud and use it with a 7 string guitar for ambient/dark wave sounds. So far I love the sound, though I am still sorting out programs that are not overkill. The sound is nice and the pedal is quite amazing overall. Though so far I am not keen on the warmth level for applying it to warmer ethnic string instruments like Oud. It is a little cold sounding to me. I also have a Big Sky which has a bit cold sound too but is heaven for synths. Looking at Neunaber Immerse to get a warmer reverb. On the delay side, this Mooer is a joy to use.

      To be fair, Devin uses two rack unit delays for his rig. I think he mentioned he uses this in his little guitar room on his Line6 practice amp. There's a great video of Devin TRYING to use this thing at a NAMM. He seriously had no idea what he was doing with it. Quite funny. This thing is more than enough for the mere mortal guitar player jam.

    Nice video, much appreciated. I'm in the midst of choosing which delay / echo platform to get for my next project. I've looked at just about every type and brand that is out there, but I keep coming back to the Moore Ocean . . . I'm particularly interested in the dual delay design concept, which means, at least theoretically, these two completely separate delays can be combined in a vast range of effects patterning.

    Just picked mine up and spent an hour with it, i really thought this would be the pedal that could do it all but i am not convinced.
    Dont get me wrong, the normal delays sound good but i couldn't really dial in a reverb sound i liked, everything just sound like your playing inside a metal shipping container.
    Comparing it with my Digitech Obscura there is a Tonal quality in the digitech that makes the sound pleasant and inspiring, i dont get that feeling at all with the OM.
    I put my Obscura back on the board and in an instant everything just sounded sweet, it doesn't have any bad settings with Lofi and tape settings and that delay alone is enough to put the OM back in the box now it is going back for a refund.
    Really liked your demo Ryan, your series of reverb demos are truly awesome :)

      I am still looking for a new reverb, have gone trough the usual suspects but i think I'm just going with the polara and be done with it. i really wanted to try out Quiet theory prelude but i just can't wait anymore for new batches. a part of me is a sucker for big Delay/Reverb combos, if TC would adopt Neunaber mentality and make their triple delay open for a reverb toneprint i would be all over it.

      just got one myself. I agree about the reverbs. to me they sound like the pre delay is repeating and making the verb sound tinny and you have no pre-delay parameter. if you are going for a gimmicky or ambient reverb this thing does that. If you want a straight ahead reverb sound try turning the tone way down and running the mix at 7-10 o'clock. I also wish they would have included a cathedral and stadium verb instead of the more gimmicky ones. the delays sound great though but once again some nice modulation delays like phaser, flange, chorus and univibe would have made this more useful to the mainstream gigging musician playing more straight ahead music. maybe they will do another model of this not dedicated to the idiosyncrasies of one artist although my hat is off to Devin he obviously poured a lot of attention into this and I thank him for that.

    • @SuperEklund
      @SuperEklund 6 лет назад

      you are probably right, my assumption is that every pedal should have "plain vanilla" 12 o'clock setting that just sound good at first try. i was just after an everyday Delay/reverb in a cool form factor.
      After this i tested the RV-500 but that went back as well, amazing sounds but a pain to navigate.
      Spent more time on the floor pushing buttons than playing.
      maybe its just an excuse to buy more things ;)

    Why oh why are Strymon users coming in the comments section, dissing this pedal and bragging about the fact that they own those pedals? Why are they even watching this if, in their opinion, the Mooer is shit? Well, I think I know the answer to that.
    Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind a Big Sky or Timeline myself but I don't have £900 to spend on 2 pedals, and if I did have £900 to spend on gear, I could buy a good guitar or amp, maybe even both, and maybe still be able to get this Mooer as well 😆
    I think that this pedal is great value for what you get for a little over £200. I have one and I must say that I was disappointed with the crystal, liquid, and galaxy delays, they could have made them better, as with the shimmer effect on the reverb, and if they were better then this would knock spots off the Strymon.......but at the end of the day there are still at least 10-15 well useable delays, along with most of the reverbs. Plus all of the excellent features such as customisable effect chain, ping pong, reverb freeze, looper with reverse & half speed options, midi, plenty of good useable presets, so yeh, I think it's great for what it is.

    • @JammyGit
      @JammyGit 3 года назад

      @Andrew London- No probs mate, I had forgotten about this comment. The Big Sky keeps its price pretty well so I'm sure that you'd have got most of your money back on it. All of those Strymon freaks are busy queuing up for the Night Sky now 😆
      I still use my Mooer to this day, plus my HX Stomp, which has tons of delays & reverbs on it, and is a much more worthwhile purchase than a 5 or 6 hundred quid Strymon reverb pedal 👍

      Ryan Lutton: Thanks Ryan! I’d like info beyond the 2 delays n Reverb. IE the menu n settings info...I’m beginning to get that down but the looper n dub is confusing. I can get the looper going and record, then play it back but getting the timing down is very tricky.
      Then turning it off with the STOP button does nothing. It just adds more duds and effects.
      So...how to turn off the record n dubs and then delete. I can’t find that in the vague instructions. I have to pull the power plug to stop everything from playing.
      A power switch would help. It must be easier than this but I get frustrated and just turn it off. Thank you, sir👍

    The reverb on this is ok but In my humble opinion not quite as good as The Hall of Fame 2 by TC Electronics which I dearly like a lot. However this one has all of the delays and repeats that the Hall of Fame 2 does not have so if you had to buy just one I would buy this one. I also like tremolo a whole lot but this one has progamable Delays that are I believe just as good as a tremolo and I think maybe even a little bit better so I think this is a pretty good deal for all that it has to offer. And I am going to buy one. However I will never give away my Hall of Fame 2 because of it’s reverb which is so rich and luscious and warm and wonderful. And if I am only using reverb I will be using the Hall of Fame 2, but if I want to add some extra efects I could use this mooer thing. The way I use tremolo is so little that you can barely tell it’s there and most people don’t even know the tremolo is on but by adding just a very little bit people begin to say why does that guitar sound so beautiful. I believe this machine can add that same affect and I believe even better if I add just a little bit of this wonderful sounding Mooer delay to the guitar sound without turning it way up and over powering everything. However if you are looking for the ultimate tape delay this is not it. You would have to go and get the T-Rex Replicator Analog Tape Delay Pedal. But you may have to take out a loan at the bank to get it. So if you are not looking to get a bank loan to buy a T Rex then this is the second best choice for real luschous tape delay. However even after saying such a good thing about TRex, TRex still does not have all that the Mooer machine has to offer. So in the long run I really don’t think you can go wrong by buying this multi talented machine. And I am certainly going to buy one.
    And finally Kudo’s To the person who made this video because they did an excellent job.

    Dist-verb is the only one that really caught my attention. Does anybody know any other pedal that has a similar effect? I already checked Keeley Gold Star but it's not what I'm really after.

      this is the first reverb pedal I've come across with a distorted setting to the best of my memory.. but there is a Biyang reverb I demoed that distorted if the decay was high and that was quite cool :) those are fairly cheap too!

    Besides the convenience of this all-in-one box, what do you guys think about the quality of sound especially the reverb?
    It can't be a comparison to Blue Sky or Wet but is it really good enough to replace the affordable reverbs like HOF or RV7 hardwire?
    The basic hall, plate and spring reverbs are better than the above mentioned pedals? I have a HOF now and thinking of buying this one but not really sure about how it would really sound.
    Thanks for your advice in advance.

    It sounds beautiful but I feel there’s only so much use for an ambience processor like this. Great for making spa music, though.

    • @morten1
      @morten1 5 лет назад +1

      You can also use it like you would use any other reverb and delay pedals. + it's like 3 pedals in one.
      I see it as a powerful versatile effects pedal for many scenarios. Not just ambient or "spa" ;)

    • @matthewhonnor
      @matthewhonnor 4 года назад +1

      U2WB think the ambience is awesome but you could absolutely buy this and use it as your main delay and verb. Kinda cool in a way that you can get standard delays and verbs as well as all this crazy stuff in there

      i mean those are such a specific sound. I'm sure if you just spent more time tweaking them they'd sound good. i do agree with you though, but i think the rest of the sounds besides those are awesome.

      Actually these effects can be very useful for those looking for very experimental sounds, or those who may even run more than guitars through this pedal (such as synths etc.), especially if you're reamping through this pedal and manipulating the parameters.

    can it have a common tap tempo for the two delay engines when you wanna use both at the same time? Or you have to tap them separately until your tapping is almost in identical bpm between the taps? I was considering new Flashback and because of this limitation, I didn't buy.

    • @seanmackay6739
      @seanmackay6739 4 года назад

      You can tap each delay separately with their respective footswitch, or tap both at once with the reverb switch when in tap mode.
