This is the story of Clay Marzo, a surfing savant who has been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, a mild form of autism. Clay rises to fame after scoring two 10s in the NSSA Nationals and dazzling the world with his incredible surfing in the Quiksilver Young Guns movies. But stardom is incredibly difficult for a young man who has never socialized well and the more famous he gets, the more difficult it becomes for him to deal with the pressure. Watch as Clay struggles to come to terms with his own talent and the stresses of being a professional athlete.

My favorite Marzo quote is on a vid of him on a trip with others and the guys ask him what he thinks of girls on the trip, he says, "MAN, THOSE GIRLS ARE...average". Total dead pan. Gold. I like that he doesn't realize or pursue the absolute "legend" status he already exudes for so many others.

Funny i grew up surfing and my anxiety disabled me completely from competing so I’m very interested as to how Asperger’s is different to anxiety because I’ve suffered from other people all my life!
I always explained my interpretation of this mad (in an amazing way) bloke as Mr jelly because he just fits in to any oceanic situation a mind blowing demonstration of what is possible and he is!

But, how is he in very heavy surf when flash and contempt are rewarded/served with severe a very big helping of humble pie? I was all about the flash but, when in heavy surf my tactics were markedly different!
