@@THX5000 the standard Chiron is a triumph of design in my opinion. With the Supersport, that additional section of bodywork at the rear has finished the design in my opinion. Perfected it. But like you say, each to their own 🥸
Insurance is meaningless in this situation. Every individual one of these cars made (only 30) is called for, and the people that own these can afford another $4M. Sure they can get the check, but that won’t help them get another car since another won’t be made, or get them one of the other 29 from other rich people who don’t want to give it up either.
@@theryanhollis Not a matter of replacing the car, it is the value of the car, with the potential loss of a such an asset and most people do to carry multi-million dollar policies. 6:50 honestly the EB110 SS is a criminally overlooked Hypercar legend, props to VW Bugatti for paying homage to it. Everything, the quad turbo V12, gearbox, chassis was 100% bespoke and state of the art, a true Bug through and through just like the Chiron.

If the license plate were to fly off at top speed and hit something (disregarding immediate air resistance and retaining its velocity), it would produce about 504 foot pounds of energy (683 joules), concluding that it would have roughly the equivalent impact of a higher powered pistol caliber, such as a .357 magnum out of a short barrel or 10mm.

Doug isn't very knowledgeable when it comes to technical specs on cars. He has never worked on a car in his life, so if you want an idea of what goes into the "Super Sport" variation of Bugatti's cars, I highly recommend watching Jason Cammisa's video on the "Second" Veyron on the Hagerty RUclips channel. He explains the immense amount of engineering effort that goes into these power boosts, and improved levels of handling. When you're talking about performance at this level, there is exponentially more effort necessary for such gains compared to something like a simple ECU flash in a standard car to give it an extra 50-100hp.
They usually send a stripped down version. No engine, no drivetrain necessarily. The tests are designed to use pulleys or have NHTSA’s test equipment impact the vehicle so the test vehicle doesn’t need to be fully functional
@@joeys8701 This defeats the purpose of the crash test. Who knows if the drivetrain or engine components impact the safety of the driver if they're not equipped?
@@crispynotburnt physics can be simulated with extraordinary levels of accuracy these days. The tests are meant to make sure that the vehicles are safe in *general* for public use, not meant to make sure they pose no danger whatsoever in every single possible scenario. No one can ever know every possible scenario a crash will occur in, so the tests are just meant to rate the safety in the most common/deadly types of crashes I believe.
That car is incredibly beautiful no doubt, but not otherworldly so like the latest Bentley Continental GT. That car literally has all the best attributes of a Rolls-Royce and an Aston Martin. I don't know how you can beat that.
Bugatti is, to me, the ultimate performance car. Some other companies might be a little more beautiful, or practical, or even a bit faster, but the absolute lack of compromise is unmatched.
Love your videos Doug! The shots of the car showed what looked like plastic door handles, buttons and switches next to the driver's seat near the door but no mention of that. I know you have pointed it out in many other cars when you pay so much money for the car and the claim of "luxury" but how come it wasn't pointed out here?
"Fine Doug, you can review and drive our 4+ million dollar unobtanium car. In exchange, don't mention any cheap plastics or corner cuts." Something like that, I wonder. :P I mean hey, let me drive a Chiron and I'll say (or not say) whatever you want me to lmao
Well wasn't that the entire MISSION of the Bugatti? It wasn't just a matter of building the FASTEST production car in the world, but it had to also be a car that was comfortable to live with on a daily basis. Like the Ferarri F-40 is fast, but it's not exactly 'luxurious' lol
They are the best headlights on any supercar. Brilliant illumination. Test drivers boldly did 250 mph runs at night and those lights gave them the confidence to do it.
Great review !! To my eye the extended rear end just balances out the design. It looks much more cohesive. I like it so much I’m going to get one. Or two.
Finally a set of factory wheels that look the part. I can't really imagine any aftermarket wheels looking better than the factory. EDIT: The exhaust note just isn't capable of being understood until its pushed hard with a load on the engine. Then you'll hear the anger.
Well, more importantly: I cannot imagine any aftermarket wheels that I would trust. It's a heavy car that was designed for high speeds, and unless the aftermarket company validated the wheels for use both at high speeds and the forces exerted by a heavy vehicle traveling at fast speeds, you're taking a gamble on a multi-million dollar car for something superficial.
If you've not seen yet, Mat Watson from CarWow had a great video with this car on the Autobahn so you can really see how quickly it gets up to over 200mph it's nuts
I wish EV trends and internal combustion engine bannings don't kill these special species of cars. Let those who have the money buy monsters like these and let common kids at least have a dream. 0 to 60 is not everything and nobody has a Tesla car poster on his/her wall. But these rare beauties... I hope they never go away
As much as I love the Chiron, it stands no chance against the future electric monsters with 2,000+ bhp. Also you're questioning the 0-60 numbers in a car that has numbers all over it.
Every time Doug says, "and then Im going to take it out on the road and drive it", I just start sweating for him... How the hell he gets the permission to take these multimillion dollar cars out on a regular road... wow
The unmatched mechanical aptitude and driving skills of Doug may push this vehicle beyond its limits. He is the only person qualified to review this car. I hope the Bugatti survives.
The funny thing is that the price is pretty much irrelevant, because you can't buy one of these for any amount of money. They were all sold long before any were built, and honestly, probably before the general public even knew a Chiron Super Sport was going to be exist at all.
@@megachonk9440 What I find most disturbing is the fact that there are so many people now who can afford a $4M car in the first place. The disparity between the rich and the poor has widened beyond belief now. There is something catastrophically wrong with this world.

I've seen one Bugatti in my life, and it was before I was into cars so I'm kinda mad at myself for not taking a picture of it or anything
This definitely beats the Chiron V1, but I’m not sure it justifies the extra cost.
500k in options ffs
The interior looks so weak. Half of it just looks like cheap plastic.
It's just a body kit and a tune up
@@rhysbriden5777 it looks better in person, it was displayed at our local lamborghini dealer for a few months and we got to look at the interior
Tough to imagine a 4 million car going for a crash safety test
They usually send a stripped down version. No engine, no drivetrain necessarily. The tests are designed to use pulleys or have NHTSA’s test equipment impact the vehicle so the test vehicle doesn’t need to be fully functional
Also sticker price of these types is generally no where near material costs/labor costs.
@@joeys8701 do they put weights in its place?
That car is incredibly beautiful no doubt, but not otherworldly so like the latest Bentley Continental GT. That car literally has all the best attributes of a Rolls-Royce and an Aston Martin. I don't know how you can beat that.
It was such a pleasure seeing this car in person a few months back
@VOREVOX honestly
Man, I like how you reviewed this car. You are sooo spot on on the facts and the way you explain things, nobody does it like you, Doug.
what colour is your bugatti
Here before Doug edits the video title and removed "EDIT v2"
Me too
@@adamzaeits its gone now, lasted for 2 mins, rip edit v2
It took him 1 min to change it !!! 😂😂
Bugatti Super Sport EDIT V2? I don’t know, going from a W16 to a V2 is a bold move. Not sure I’m here for this new Bugatti reality.
Yeah, downsizing even caught up with them, shame really 🥹
Bugatti is, to me, the ultimate performance car. Some other companies might be a little more beautiful, or practical, or even a bit faster, but the absolute lack of compromise is unmatched.
Damn the edit V2 it's lit🥵🥵🥵🥵
How cool it would have been if this Bugatti would have been available for auction in cars and bids 🔥
Love that this key design is the exact same as my
‘09 VW Rabbit.
4.3 million?!
That's nearly 170 Tiguans!
🙃
It is also possible that those things are metal or carbon with a matte finish on them
I don’t think they’re plastic, they look like brushed metal
I'ts all metal everything , even if it looks matte black like plastic its still metal
@@shtopfl5247 There is no single piece of plastic. It's just that black finish.
So happy dugg keeps me updated with cars I’ll never see
Well wasn't that the entire MISSION of the Bugatti? It wasn't just a matter of building the FASTEST production car in the world, but it had to also be a car that was comfortable to live with on a daily basis. Like the Ferarri F-40 is fast, but it's not exactly 'luxurious' lol
Ferarri somehow sounds a lot more italian than Ferrari
I LOVE the head lights. They clearly got inspired by Alfa Romeo.
Such an aggressive and elegant shape.
They are nice.....
They are the best headlights on any supercar. Brilliant illumination. Test drivers boldly did 250 mph runs at night and those lights gave them the confidence to do it.
Doug, your perspective is always highly valued
Great review !! To my eye the extended rear end just balances out the design. It looks much more cohesive. I like it so much I’m going to get one. Or two.
The Chiron is such a beautiful car. One of the closest to perfect cars that ever exist. If I had infinite money I’d own one
For me Veyron is more beautiful. More simple.
I drive a 2020 Passat and my key is actually fancier and has MORE buttons than the spare Bugatti key!
I think the wheels are ugly. They look like bicycle mags.
I also am not understood until being pushed hard. Then you'll hear my anger as well.
I just love how the engine idling sounds like a friggin burbling yacht 😍 absolutely love the car
that's the sound the French make when angry.
I love how he just casually rests his elbow on a 4 million dollar car
Doug Demuro you’re a legend in this special space
If you've not seen yet, Mat Watson from CarWow had a great video with this car on the Autobahn so you can really see how quickly it gets up to over 200mph it's nuts
I wish EV trends and internal combustion engine bannings don't kill these special species of cars. Let those who have the money buy monsters like these and let common kids at least have a dream. 0 to 60 is not everything and nobody has a Tesla car poster on his/her wall. But these rare beauties... I hope they never go away
They won’t since nobody drives them to begin with look at the f40
As much as I love the Chiron, it stands no chance against the future electric monsters with 2,000+ bhp. Also you're questioning the 0-60 numbers in a car that has numbers all over it.
that was a very aggressive THIS
Didn't know there was a bugatti with only 2 cylinders
13:48 - I couldn't agree more! Big screens in cars, and especially their software age extremely quickly.
FINALLY
A reasonably priced, family wagon on Diesel & LPG that I can carry my potatoes with. It's gonna be a blast driving this on the field.
Was considering buying a hypercar, thanks Doug after watching this review I have come to a conclusion
aye man what you tryna buy?
That car engine sound is one of the best engine sounds in the history of the engines.
4 million for a car and the average person is having a hard time making ends meet? This world is messed up.
Every time Doug says, "and then Im going to take it out on the road and drive it", I just start sweating for him... How the hell he gets the permission to take these multimillion dollar cars out on a regular road... wow
Insurance is how
MPG 6.6 lol. Hell yeah brother.
The design of this car will last for even a century or more
The unmatched mechanical aptitude and driving skills of Doug may push this vehicle beyond its limits. He is the only person qualified to review this car. I hope the Bugatti survives.
Wrong....shmee knows more I believe
@@smurf6901 Doug reviewing this car is in no way laughable or a total joke. Also Shmee driving these cars is is no way ridiculously laughable.
Been saving up for mine!! Just 120 more years and I'm half way there!!! So excited 😊
I like how the sunroofs give the interior an airy feel. Truly a work of art on wheels. However the price is a bit on the high side.
@@RedLP5000S absolutely agree with you
@@RedLP5000S the thing wrong with the world is central banks
while the purchasing power of the regular guy, and even those millionaires and billionaires that earned their wealth, gets eroded constantly through creation of new money, making it impossible for the vast majority to get savings, there are certain well connected people that get that purchasing power siphoned off the population, and can spend and invest effortlessly
The longer tail makes it look so nicer than the original one
26:55 taycan owner : “ahhh look at me I have the most expensive car on the street “
*Looks over *
Taycan owner : “FUCK”
Got to love a longtail car!
So in essence it's a car for when someone who wants to sip tea while going 275 mph?
I think the outside door handles are shared with other VW products like the Golf
People always like to say "oh this car is faster, koenigsegg jesko absolut, SSC Tuatara" blah blah, but Bugatti isn't just about speed only, that's only 1 factor. Bugatti offers luxury and good reputation along with that speed
And also those just have V8 twin turbos like every other performance car. Not a unique W16
@Maverick that's why regera my favorite koenigsegg 😂, really only one I like personally
Finally!
I had been waiting for this as i am a big bugatti fan😄
Best video Doug made ever !
Cool car, but for $4M I would not order it with the same interior color combo as my neighbor's Honda Element.
Not almost 1,600hp it's more than 1,600hp per dyro run.
fyi the storage space at 20:52 is where you can have the 2nd option to start the car, you place the key there and it acts as the ignition switch.
Long and french, just the way I like it 😎

Mmmm yes, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport EDIT v2
My favorite car in the world
“One large long straight light bar which is a distinctive Chiron touch”
992 911: Am I a joke to you?
Only Doug can say this is over $4 million car a second later he’s resting is a elbow on it 🤣.
Doug is the type of guy that has the courage to move 4.3 million dollars and the fear to burn it from grandma's 1990s minivan.
