1965. Built in the same year I was born. The car has aged better than I have.
You are awesome David
@david you just need an LS3 swap yourself lol jk
Not for nothing, but the Corvette debuted the same year as Playboy Magazine.
One of the most significant years in history.
Maybe you need some restoration and modification?
Sounds Heavenly.Sometimes old is better.
This car is a masterpiece. It's got the classic design combined with modern touches, just perfect.
65' was a great year to be a kid growing up.
I can feel the freedom. 🇺🇸 🦅
Let freedom sing!
I'm not normally a fan of resto modding, I like to see things as they were originally, or as they probably were in Day 2 configuration at the time. But, the character in this delicious C2 remains! Joe demonstrates this wickedly fun car very well! What a sound! What a build! And, it has the right number of pedals. I can imagine Doug DeMuro running this through its paces, with a grin on his face! Or maybe Tommy and Andre from TFL. Looking forward to more classics when it can be done.👍
You got it Mike!
I’ve got a 2023 C8 HTC, but I’d happily take this instead. This was the golden age of automobiles. Would still prefer a mint original, but this LS3 mod is really sweet
You are so very right David!

a beauty,, joe had a 64 fastback 327-365 hp,,4spd, 4:11 gear posi in 1967 when i came back from the air force,,,,,lol had no money but a had a vette bought from a friend for 2400 dollars,,,,one of the 2 best cars i ever owned,,,,,of course i wish i had it today,,,,,but you know what joe it was my car and it went in the snow to work and went to atco for times and alittle racing,,,,13.90,,,95 mph,,,,,great car and video,,,,,thanks joe and lori,,,,great job on a beauty
Yup!! A masterpiece!! Now THIS is a Corvette!!! Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL car! This style IS a Corvette! The new vettes only wish they could be this good. Amazing car and build! 👍👍👍
My Favorite is 1964 Hardtop Stingray.
Happy Friday. That’s a badass car 🦾🦾
Thanks brother!
Sick ride!
Id totally take this over a C8
I’m in love….. thanks Joe. One of my dream cars……I’ll park it right next to the Porsche, which I don’t have either. 🤣
You know I would take this over the C8 !
Dreams are what make life bearable

I think resto-modding is going to be the hot ticket in the near future. All the electric is going to drive people back to the classic cars but will want some modern amenities.
only modern amenity I need is a sound system
@fortheloveofnoise9298
You have that in the 8 cylinder symphony though. 🤷
I have a C8, but I did own a 1967 427 Corvette coupe with side exhaust so I’d love to have that 1965 Corvette just like that.
I remember when these came out in 65'. They were cool then just as now.
Top notch restore : )
Those LS engines are awesome!!!
I'm not a big fan of Vettes, but this '65 is HOT. The sound is really great!! Thanks Joe.
One word -> Beautiful
That's one hell of a car! The design and lines of this car are just plain gorgeous.
"THANK YOU" Joe to you and your beautiful wife Lori for ALL that both of you do, and for ALL of the sacrifices and travels that you endure to bring ALL of the greatest and latest aito info to the masses! May God continually bless you both!🙏😇
Back in the 1960s GM had generators. Then as they wore out they were replaced with an alternator and some minor wiring changes
67 427 L88, C6 Zo6 427, C7 ZR1…all manuals FTW!
Love this resto mod Stingray beautiful!😊
DREAM car! Imagine driving down PCH 1 in that...
🌴☀🕶
Now we are talking!
You should do more of these videos on resto mods👍
Love the Corvett and while this was low on tech by modern standards I like How it looks.
At the televised, big auto auctions, classic Corvettes are certainly the king of the shows. And they go for big money with lots of bidders.
@17:01 honestly, I never thought I'd hear a Corvette that sounded like Eleanor, but here we are and I'm not complaining one bit 😊
Absolutely beautiful car. My only concern is driving on the road with so many idiot nondrivers out there. Kudos to all of you for the video.
My brother had a 1989 Mercury Cougar with triple gold Dayton wheels on it. This wheels had the spinner mechanism. I always thought it was neat when I’d see him remove the tire.
Omg that thing must rip! Not convertible fan that be sick in a split back window 🔥
3 weeks ago I was in the car show I saw a 1963 Chevy Corvette Stingray split window hardtop
buy it
I love everything about the c2 from the body shape the the jet fighter inspired cockpit ,It's great how this build didn't go with big rims as a bit of side wall looks so much better on this period car
Amazing ride brought to you by Raiti’s Rides 🎉
This car is just beautifully done. Looks completely comfortable to drive too!
Oh trust me it is!
Thanks for the video of this 65 corvette LS3 powered awesome bro
Seeing you record a classic is great! Especially the on-throttle, would love to see more of these man. Keep it up!
As much as I like original equipment, I have to say that is awesome. I grew up working on my parent's '66 Impala. I remember changing cap, wires, plugs and rotor, and then having to adjust the points (it was easy on the Chevy, not so easy on the '65 Belvedere) and then set the timing. I'll take a new LS or LT any day. Thanks for the video Joe. That car looks awesome.
Many classic car owners have replaced points and such with Pertronix units.
Great review, Joe! Love that Corvette. So cool with the LS under the hood because you can drive it anywhere.
This is awesome!
You better believe it!
the color no but it’ll definitely make you smile in a different way than a C8!
I freaking love RestoMods!
One hell of a giveaway!
I had a 65 Rally Red 327/365 hp convertible with the optional hardtop and loved it. Given the choice, I would want this 65 over a C8 every day of the week. I sure hope my number is drawn! 😊
What a complete package !
I think I just fell in love. I have dreamt of owning the perfect resto mod. Man this thing is beautiful. I'd love to do a custom classic like this myself if I had the time or money. Oh am I going to dream tonight.
Beautiful car and much respect to the classics but no way I'd choose this over a C8 💀 or even a C7 or C6 or C5. Hell really any generation that came after it. Edit: actually I lied I'd probably choose this over a C4
If I was a mega-successful tech investor, a 396 C2 4 speed (with a Pertronix ignition) would be my #1 Vette. And I'd have two more: a pre-1972 C3 454 4 speed (with Pertronix), and a C6 6 speed.
@@MisterMikeTexas It's definitely a nice and valuable car but I would just go with something I prefer looks wise like a C6 or C7.
Real beauty of a ride..definitely take that one over newer one..great interior too..sounds killer.
This thing is making my heart pitter patter! 😊
Amazing car, amazing video, defo keep the oldies coming to the channel! 🥳
Baer, Brembo, Wilwood
Ohhhhhhh that sound!
Love it for sure... only thing I'd change is the exhaust tips like they used to stick out.. but clean like it is doesn't bother me
Wow! That truly is a beautiful C8 Corvette.
Wow! Nice Review! 😎🤜🤛 I'd much rather have that 65 resto-mod than a typical C8.
You have good taste!
i really enjoy your videos.. you are very detailed on everything you say.. always accurate, and very enthusiastic in your videos!
Yes! The answer is yes! Now going to watch the video. Thanks for bringing the best auto reviews 👍
I smiled the entire time watching you get “On Throttle!” 😎
C2 1963 - 1967
You are correct
I absolutely love it! That takes me back to my childhood.
Corvette Has To Be The Oldest Sports Car in The World
You are so very right!
One of the most beautiful cars ever. ❤
Awesome review Joe!
Oh wow!! now that's classic for sure and it looks amazing.
I am glad that you are digging this one.
@@RaitisRides You know it Joe :)
"C8 doesn't even look like a Corvette to me" Yep; I've loved Corvettes since I was a kid and I've owned a C3, C4, and now I own a C7 and the C8 is just not even on my radar. Ever. It's a nice car, but it doesn't look like a Vette.
I could enjoy that '65 for sure!!!
Hey Joe speaking pf Corvette, is the rumor that GM will come out with a "Corevette" SUV true? Also I wanted to say thanks for bringing us a lot of new things in the auto industry! Hopefully you and Lori will return home to Florida soon 👍🏻
I have hear the rumor & it is true. No comment on how I feel about it. I was raised if you don’t have anything to say then don’t say anything at all:
Like as an Urus competitor? This reminds me of that camaro CUV rendering with tiny windows.
@@CristianHernandez-xh7bznot excited for that either.
@@RaitisRides understood Joe. 👍🏻 Very wise saying, I can see where u r coming from.
@@CristianHernandez-xh7bz I believe so.
Having almost 500hp on a grocery cart is pretty awesome!
Outstanding video, thank you! Super fun to travel with you in this fantastic car! Take care, another great job shooting video by your wife!
buy a rv
Oh man Joe that's slick!
I am glad that you are digging it!
Looks kool joe .
Like Motorweek at the End. Do a Show on Your Favorite Cars of the Years Coupe, Sedan, SUV, etc?
I sure do! Stay tuned!
@@RaitisRides Touche' (smile)
Nice to see a '65 Vette with Cruise Control.
But Joe doesn't need a turn signal stalk because he NEVER signals for a turn; or a lane change.
At this point, you should just buy this freedom of a machine after selling everything, except your house and Camaro. 🇺🇸 classic!
Nice video keep up the good work Joe
That’s the only corvette that matters. Freaking beautiful ❤
Wow Joe - what a beaut!!! The on throttle gave me the chills. If you could only have one - This one or your Shelby? Pick one!
I happen to own a C2 resto mod and a C8 HTC Z51 and you can’t compare the cars. It’s like comparing a WW2 fighter to an F35.
hey Joe, you should make a video on Buick Reatta 80' without forgetting the best part, a short historic description of late 1980s' Buick Reatta
Oh wow that would be awesome!
Masterpiece!
Not a convertible guy but id Definitely take it being a corvette lover im surprised they didnt shave the door handles for a cleaner look
Beautiful car, to this day, ahead of its time.
saw a 427 1966 all original vette today. I was a kid in a candy shop
Oh wow I bet Logan!
Another awesome review! Coming to an end- can't wait to see who wins this one!
I always coveted this generation of Corvettes, such a classic! Thanks for the retro review guys, I love these! Edit: Just entered the giveaway, too cool not to try!
This car has to be one of the best cars i've ever seen , definitely on my top 10 list. I haven't seen much old cars because i'm a millennial and still a teenager in 9th grade, but this car looks ageless I kinda like restored old car, but I sometimes like some old cars the way they are, but this resmoration or whatever it's called (lol) has to be the best one. This car is overall deadly💀💀
1965 C2, everyday all day!
I've always preferred my more modern cars but man the old 'vettes are just beautiful
What a beautiful car. I'd take that in heartbeat over a C8
Slight correction - C3 Corvettes had vacuum-operated headlights, C2 headlights are electrically-operated.
The classics like these are so sick. The people that own these are so lucky
What a machine. And that engine sound! I take it a restored classic is street legal without headrests and shoulder belts?
I feel a little Geriatric in this video during the "On Throttle," segment. QUIT YELLING AT ME JOE!!!" 😂😂
1965 Chevrolet Corvette C2 Stingray 6.2L Naturally Aspirated LS3 376ci Fuel-Injected V8 5-Speed Manual Restomod Convertible!
You nailed it Scott!
Damn, that is a nice car... with the V8 on top
Awesome ride!!! I'd take that C2 resto-mod over a C8 any day, any time!!!
Thanks for letting me share it with you!
He’ll yeah! I’m gonna choose that 65’ old school classic Corvette than any new generation Corvette’s. I want to restore a classic VW beetle with double carb. That’s one on my bucket list.

Hello trivia there for you job everybody knows there were 300 Corvettes made in 1953 how many actually left the factory
Take me for a ride Joe !
