- Hey everyone! today is a new project where we put a Lifan 125cc engine on a trike I got of facebook marketplace! the frame of the trike was completely aluminum, and my dumb arse doesn't know how to weld aluminum. anyway be sure to check out the channel for other cool projects like mini bikes, go karts, gas scooters, motorized bikes, dirt bikes, motorcycles, and I guess motorized trikes too!

Skateboard wheel tensioner or electrical tape wrapped around something round lol
Oh i will be watching part 2 to watch the rear end destroy itself
Aluminum cuts, using a thin cutoff disc 4in on angle grinder and take a candle and run disc thru it while disc is spinning and wax wheel coat disc, now it will cut aluminum and the disc wont clog up with aluminum, wax wont let aluminum stick to disc and it cuts smooth and fast, you can also cut aluminum with a circular saw, using carbide teeth blade, try the wax, you will be amazed.
SPANISH SUBTITLES PLEASE!!!!! AND I SUSCRIBE
That “thing” is a lovejoy coupler!
You got it just missing the other end and the rubber spider.
Ha I knew someone would recognize it! Thanks for the input
Damn you beat me to it man so simple too lol says love joy rite on it
Beat me to it also. Common component for coupling a motor to a pump.
It’s either sintered metal or cast iron. That’s why it welded weird.
That mystery part was 1/2 of a love joy coupler.
Can't wait to see a gas tank on that! It looks really pretty so far. As a side note, my OCD is making me tell you to find a matching metallic red paint for the steel you bolted/welded on lol. Or maybe a nice white or silver to complement the red? Either way, nice to see a new build. Good work!
yeah I was thinking red but the original color has a glitter effect going on so we'll see if I can find something to match! Thanks for the comment
I really like you’re light set up!! Keep the good work up!!
thanks!
Thanks for posting 👍 I’m looking forward to seeing this machine cruising down the road!
Same here Mike, thanks for the comment!
Hello Mike!
Mike's balways on the semi small channel comments
How’s a Honda 90 a dirt bike engine. Too bad it didn’t get a differential
1:39 he takes the headset off and the music gets lower at tje exact same time lol..........well ...I thought it was funny 😄
Bigbrain shitz yo!
Nice can’t wait for you to finish it!!!
stay tuned! thanks
Love your work man have a happy New year!
Thanks! You too
I'd love to see it operational
stay tuned!
That's a cool build. Now it needs wider back tires and a chopper fork. It looks great.
That would be cool!
To get better connection on the holder and sprocket in alignment vise, bolt both together try to get it into lathe or any other thing that can hold it. I have just couple bearings and cheap lathe chuck in a tube welded to plate frame to hold peaces at the moment, soon to become diy lathe, but now it can be used to turn them to find how crooked those are, do corrections and then weld them. Loosening the bolt you can adjust it to close to center as possible to remove least some of the vibrations coming from unbalance. For smaller parts if you can chuck it into drill that is cheap and easy way to figure this out and even do some turning with a grinder.
The lovejoy couplers are mostly used on industrial machinery. CNC Servo motors, pumps and many other machines.
ahh thanks for the info, the scrap yard had tones of them!
@@OliverMotorized I think they are made of some kind of powder casting. They do break time to time. Your trike is gonna be Wild! Nice job!
Man fabricating the engine To the bike is badass. I wish I had a shop and the tools and know how to do that too. Someday tho lol as of now my setup is all bolt on lol
Steady as she goes!
REALLY GOOD JOB BUT IF I HAD THAT TALENT I WOULD PROBABLY BE THINKING ALONG THE LINES OF SUSPENSION" BECAUSE OF AN ALUMINUM FRAME WITH NO SUSPENSION IS SOME WHAT A ROLL OF THE DICE YOU THINK?? 🤔😇
If it's got good torque I'd put some MTB tires on it and do some off road shenanigans!
Love this stuff, glad you're back man!
haha not a bad idea!
I have the same bike and I live in Oregon I've been wanting to make a trike like this just to rip around it looks sick
It's looking sweet
That 's pretty dam cool . watch part two ,
This trike is going to be awesome
check part two!
Great job man that things gonna be awesome is that a semi manual 4 speed w/o clutch?
thanks, it's a manual 4 speed w/ clutch!
I was wondering what was up with you. It's been awhile! Just happy to see your doing ok and still making these bomb ass video's! Hope you had a merry Christmas and here is to a happy new year. Come on 2021. Its gotta be better than 2020. Thanks for making my day!
Thanks Drew, doing great! happy new year!
Sometimes I miss the old way you would just cobble together a frame and random things you had laying around to make it work. The jerry riggin way! Cause I do the same. Why spend all that money on new parts when you can repurpose a toilet bowl cleaner to a mini bike frame. Hahahahaha. Lol. Good shit. Just made that up of course. You always make me laugh. I really like the real humble videos you make. Thanks!
Looks good but have you thought about how you are going to stop it ? Those caliper brakes on the front wheel may not be sufficient to do the job.
The "thing" you found at the junk yard is half of a love joy type coupler. Also, you really need welding lessons!!
Would it have been easier to mount the engine where the basket was, and lave the original frame ?
When you cut aluminum with 4 in angle grinder use thin cutoff wheel and a candle, bees wax whatever kind of wax and run grinder disc thru it, coating disc
Could work. I'm bit iffy on cutting aluminum since it will fill the disk holes and when heated will expand and can explode the disk if its not meant for aluminum.
@@Hellsong89 The disk will cut right through aluminum and not plug up the disc using metal grind disc,i was told this 30yrs ago by an old welder and he gave me a chunk of bees wax, to try and it works fine never destroyed a disc the aluminum cant stick with hot wax on disc spinning 10,000 rpms, it cuts like butter, try it you will cut aluminum from then on using wax.
Can the wheel bearings handle that kind of speed?
Sketchyfabworks inc.😂👍
What happens when sprocket gets worn and time for replacement? How will you adjust chain tension ?
the whole rear axle is adjustable, so you can loosen it and pull it back.
Looks awesome!! Not sure if I dig the top tube, or whatever you call it. Maybe instead of bulging up, it needs to be more straight or even curve down? It’s kinda hard to explain, but I hope you know what I mean. Nevertheless great video as always!
I was thinking the same thing, I think I'll invert it so it is curved down more! Thanks for the suggestion
@@OliverMotorized Awesome! Can’t wait for the next vid on it
That thing is called a love joy coupler it joins two shafts together with shear pins in both side s sought one side locks up it shears the pins only instead of ruining the motor or equipment kinda a safety of sorts
Use a wood saw blade in the grinder for Alli 🙌
come again lol
@@OliverMotorized circular wood cutting blades.....Cut...aliuminium...like...butter....
An electric mid frame motor?😊
That thing gonna be a ripper, need to see some donuts.
haha i was thinking a grociery run with er' lol
Easy on the old lady comments! Respect your elders, you’re gonna be one someday.
awesome
Natural true talent
Awwwwwww!!!!! I want one!!!! Yay!!!
make one!
I'm pretty sure the rear axle support is steel . I would have mounted engine in rear where basket resides and would have left pedals also you can buy freewheel adapter to have double freewheel 1 for pedals 1 for motor I'm not knocking your bike.. I will shoot video of mine and post it
I'm hoping to put the basket back on there! I like the idea of keeping the pedals, but I definitely won't need them.
@@OliverMotorized true your engine is my favorite.. but if run out of gas or lose spark or whatever nice to be able to pedal
Very Good!..
I can tell you how to modify an aluminum frame. Use a tig welder...
don't got one.
Or even a mig welder
*Muy divertido y excelentes materiales*
That is awesome
Man,you need to grow this channel by getting out of your comfort zone, you underrated piece of mechanic .

I got 1 gave 150 they sale at wal mart 400 I got the same 1 no motor got a blue 1 to love em
nice! I got a great deal on this one second hand
Hey man You did ok but I'll tell you how to do it without all the scabbing a nd ugly stuff . Start from scratch and build your own frame . Draw it out on some cardboard ( so it will last out in the shop ) with all straight lines and you won't have the hassel of bending . You just have to make some fish mouth ends . Just make sure you make cut your parts lonend cuts g enough to count for your joining cuts. Use some motorcycle wheels and not bicycle wheels. That will get you started . I think you can do it . Go Man !!!@!
gearing will be too fast
Any chance you can build one for me, let me know
nice
How much you want for that mini bike diesel one
$450
What country you from
please wear your proper protection, either a welding hood and blade guard on your grinder, or a safety tie.
i'm not at the level of a safety tie yet lol
How about a video on how to install a gear plate on a trike adult bicycle ,show every step without being in a hurry, one step at a time,fo a gas powered motor,
That thing you used for the sprocket is a type of coupler. Bigger versions can be found on old wave runner jet skis.
interesting, thanks for the info!
Cool
Bad ass!! Good work my friend and the Porn Music just brings it all Together! Watchn outta Sand Springs Oklahoma!
haha thanks Beau!
turn that puppy into a giant big wheel put some pegs on the front Axl and change the tire sizes
Awesome
Iifan - Lee-fawn = They have some good road IegaI bikes (need Iicense) and the are priced at an insanIey affordabIe cost: some eIectric. Some are a IittIe more eIaborate and pricy but basic ones are usuaIIy not high
They aren't bad motors it's just a shame their clutches are made of paper
Yeah Ive noticed that depressing the clutch and putting it in gear still hits as if the clutch isn't expanding all the way or somethin'
Why don't you just get an AC TIG?? lol
willl u help idk any that can or will sir u seee that carb u have on that bike in this video i got the dam thing i need a intack to 19mm can u do that can u weld me a intack odff that to 19mm i just need somthing that can bolt right to that carb an to rubber tube i have sir so u need how thay make a intack for carbs like the one u have in this video bolts to carb an to motoer but i need one bolt to carb an fits in to rubber tube whith hose clamp so can u make me one ill sand u some cash for ur time nothing big only need 3in lone pipe an its just need to fit thart carb
Put a diff on her oliver
i've thought about it. the way I have it set up is easiest at the moment, but we'll see how it works.
@@OliverMotorized
Looking forward to see it finshed
Looks like some half assed jackleg bullshit! Gonna tear itself apart!
yo just stumbled upon this and realized it was posted today, i love this build man! im trying to get into stuff like this because i think its badass, anyways great content bro!
Glad you enjoy it!
Me 2
Is the two rear tires driven or just one?
Be cool if both were.
Just one unfortunately, but it makes sense since they prob didn’t want to put a differential on it lol
They who? I thought it was yours lol
@@operation6604 lol this trike is a schwinn, i'm simply modifying it with a motor. I was referring to them!
Thanks Oliver. I really enjoy watching your videos and creativity. Thanks for the video and God bless.
thanks for watching!
I strongly recommend swapping out the rear axle and rear wheels for heavy duty ones. Husky cycles sells the heavy duty wheels and full length 17 mm rear axle that fits right into the Schwinn frame. The stock Schwinn rear axles tend to break (with no motor) on the stub ends where the factory machines them down from 17 mm to about 13 mm for the wheel hubs.
Thanks for the info
Alloy rims means certain destruction would of been better off fitting a zeda80 or a bt100 atleast ya wouldn't of had to butcher the hell out of a nice bike
sorry, what do you mean by certain destruction?
Try welding that hub/sprocket hotter if it breaks. Or weakens.
Name of song at 3:20?
The part you welded to the axle was part of a drive shaft end for a jet ski
Oliver, that "thing" is half of a Lovejoy coupling. They are usually used to connect electric motors to pumps, etc..
gotcha! I suppose I could have googled it lol. Thanks
I think the generic name is a "jaw and spider coupling or jaw coupling", but they are primarily used to dampen vibrations or handle some shaft misalignment.
@@lewisgaines8883I've never heard them called "jaw", I have heard the center rubber piece called the spider though. We bought them directly from the company and they were always just Lovejoy couplings to us.
Video idea: Maybe you could try building one like in this video below and show us how well it works?
ruclips.net/video/HHOuIOYe1Is/видео.html
That "thing" is one part of a 3-part electric motor coupling. There are two pieces like you have and the third is a rubber star that fits between the two halves.
Don,t know why a Canadian bike is using Belize name to sell bikes when their bikes ARE NOT made in Belize. Its like the NFL calling their sport football when only on person actually uses their foot....call it handball...but does sound well for marketing. Makes no sense!
please move to my neighborhood.Keep making the vids.
I'm thinking that it might need more rear sprocket, sir ... Happy New Year
we'll see I think you might be right though
Thank you so much! You made my new year's eve! Take care and I will see you in the next episode!
Alicia.
Happy new year!
Restoring one of these for my good friends dad not sure where to start guess I’ll pull it apart and go from there
Fixing steel to alloy will cause electrolysis and the drive cog is not central it will make the chain go tight as it turns
Pee Wee Hermans x1 flyer 2.0 ...awesome...add streamers and tiger radio/siren.
You do know you can mig weld aluminium? Just use aluminum spool wire.....
What junkyard do you go to and what type of junkyard?
Dude fuckin yesssssss, I wanted to do this since I was a kid riding my grandma's
imagine a little old lady trying to bike that thing around if it wasnt aluminum lol
Spanish titles please!!!!!! and I suscribe!!!!!.....
You CAN weld aluminum.it takes flux and aluminum rods..
Too bad the rear wheels won't hold up. Mags are recommended.
Great build! Looking forward to the next installment
Thanks! 👍
Haven't heard from you in a while. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! Will do!
That orange piece is half of shaft link on big log splitter
Nice bro had to support you got a new subscriber
at 8:52 you’re welding without a hood? 🧐
The Angle grinder can also be used for aluminum you just need aluminum cut off discs Pay attention right on to of the discs.
it tell you what kind of materials it’s able to cut.
ahh gotcha, figured the speed that it spun was just melting the alli and gumming things up
I built a 3 wheeler, also, but removed basket and mounted the 5 hp briggs and stratin, lined up with rear sprocket to centrifugal clutch on motor , had to replace smallsprocket with a larger sprocket and locked axle at sprocket to dfive both wheels and each wheel had to be locked to the axle.it was a very dangerous bike to fast and 3 wheels so easy to flip sideways and roll, but for all these reasons , it makes it fun youre soon to find out.
Joy coupler😎 love joy.
The piece you used to mount the sprocket is one half of a spider coupling, used to transfer torque while also absorbing some backlash you might have. There should be another identical piece that faces the first one with a lobed bushing that fits in between the teeth of each of the coupler halves.
That 3 tab piece you used in the driveshaft is a Lovejoy coupling (half of one) They are for output shaft connections that need a rubber dampener .
This is silly! I love it! You've clearly got some good mad skillz :-)
Yo, gotta gear that waay down.
Such a small gear for giant bike wheels..
haha yes I do. The rear sprocket on there now was the largest I had on hand.
