It's a Dimarzio. You wired it to Duncan's color code
The red wire is the hot wire on a DiMarzio, then the black and white get soldered together and the green and Bare wire get soldered to the volume pot
That first pickup was a Dimarzio Evolution neck pickup.
it had a 158 little sticker so prolly a evolution but the remaining lead wire is so short where on earth did it come from that it was ever in a neck position lol?
It looks much better with the black pickup, the green and black looks great
Killer video Dane I’m glad you take these old Shredders and give them new life the paint job is sick,I dig it.
Glad these are back! I’d love to find an old axe like that to restore. I’m on a heavy 80s super Strat kick.
Yeah you have a killer blue Kramer!
@@Ibaneddie76 Thanks man! Kramer makes some of my favorite guitars.
In Dimarzio, the red is hot. white/green go together ( for coil split)
Thats right .. thank you
Sounds very very good. Very musical guitar. It looks good too.
Wow man I just love it when you build such awesome guitars😃👍❤️🎸
Oh, I love this headstock!
Awesome! Looks much better with the black pickup anyway.
Magnifique!
Thierry a french fan!
Isn't that the N.J. series?!
Yeah it is I told him that one already lo he don't pay attention to what I say 😆😆
love the color of this guitar
Far out, man! Groovy paint job.
Dane; capacitors can change frequency response roll off, to change tone. , The pickup is working pretty well.
Like the looks of black pickup better. Looks meaner. A Green Meanie.👍
That is one very cool looking B.c Rich 👍
Love it! Great 80s shredder.
black pick up looks killer, i want that guitar
If I lived in the area-we would definitely be jawing over 80s shredders! Birth place of my electric guitar experience. Angled humbucker! Damn Skippie…that’s some sick styling on that green meanie!
Guitar turned out great!
Great Job!
I loved it originally man! That yellowish gold and pickup configuration with the mini toggles was killer! I mean, its dosent look too shabby now either!
I didn't have any silver so Ii has a lot of white so I did a white base with goldd silver flake and green candy over that and a burst. I wanted it to turn out bettert than it is but had issues with materials money wise had to do what I had to do .
@@robertscott3399 great job and glad you replied
You and your glitter.... cool looking guitar.
Tell me about 3 month down the road I go to the bathroom and we're the hell did that red metal flake come fr lol 😜🤠 shit gets all over everything and everywhere it's stuck in grout in kitchen and all to 😂
I had a Warlock and after a while sold it. Now that I'm on the West Coast I actually appreciate BC Rich a bit more.
First, put the strings then make the holes to align the pickup, that DiMarzio is for the neck position and was the wrong wiring
Made it look like a gunslinger now , I already have a green one just like that without the glitter lol,.. I put a Seymour Duncan detonator in there.
I like the white pickup
Great video series!
Let's take the time to appreciate that ... your 'painter' is awesome.
Nice Job!
Sounds like 80’s metal! I like the black pickup. I have customized a BC Rich as well. Went with a Crazy Horse design.
I have an old BC Rich Gunslinger with the angle bridge pick up and I've changed the pick up a few times and it's never quite sounded right, yet the same pick up in one of my other BC Rich's with the strait pick ups sound great.
C.C. DeVille would be proud!
You need to make a string order....
I think you should be not talking trash about your playing because many guys would be happy to play as good as you do dude!
Bravo it’s killer ❤🔥
fun video -- thanks for the content
Glad you enjoyed it
I had the same issues with a Dimarzio super distortion I’m my Les Paul. Sounded horrible. I put the burstbucker back in
Personally, I think they look sweet without the pickup ring.
Also, I'm really impressed with your painter's work. If I didn't know better, I would swear that's a different guitar body than the one you started out with.
I have a few guitars I had to do that with to keep the floating trem in tune. The only thing that sucks about it is it does make the bar a lot stiffer, but if you really put a lot of tension on the springs, it does solve the problem.
Great video. I think the guitar looks great. I'd leave the cavity cover off too. Show off that nice paint job. I'd probably take the cavity cover off of the electronics too since you don't really have a mess of wires there, but that's just me.
Cheers!
Gibson Burstbucker pro pickup would be nice in that guitar 🎸
Love it!!!
With pickup mounted crooked,
the poles pieces do not line up.
I told him w the slanted pupbhe needs 6o find a non FSpaced pickup that's why Kramer and other comp did that not for looks but so the polls lined up on a Floyd guitar ..
@@robertscott3399 exactly
Cheers from Portugal 🤘🍺🇵🇹
Phoenix???
With a name like Zimm, I figured you'd be in Minnesota.
Amazing paint job & the black pickup looks better. Im all for putting your own stamp on guitars but i really you should have left it as an STIII, shredder with a lot more useful tones but then thats just my opinion.
At 8.15. Below the high E stud anchors. There is a crack. Typicall of floyd eqiped guitars, i cant understand why route the wood that much. Did you fix with ca glue?
You should have left the two single coils no offense ,.. so that you would of had better pick up option variations to choose from playing wise
It's an NJ Dane
Hey ROBERT!
😍👍 duuuuuude….
Another BITCHIN guitar, man!
You’ve got serious skills. I really appreciate your work.
Please keep them coming. 😃 so cool
👍
Not bad work…for a bassist!!😂
That's an NJ Series not a platinum
Is it sold? And what did it go for?
i might have lost the ability to read but i can swear it said NJ Series not Platnium Series
thats wghat the decal says n.j i think gets lost sometimes he is getting old ,,lol
is that one for sale?
Red is hot on Dimarzio
cool but it was better original imo
No way
@@mstreech hence why I said imo.. lol
i conntacted BC rich and sent them pics of what it looked like and asked if tghey knew what color it might have been. i bealeve it was a white pearl of sorts and someone left iyt in a car that got real hot it had solvent pop all over it and it had to be taken all the way to thesealer coat ..but they said they did not knows it might have been hot pink they said. who knows.
@@ianstrickland5280 I know but it was important to me that you know that.
white pick up looks out of place imo
dude if you just looked up a Dimarzio DP158 you would know its a Evolution neck pickup and Not a Bridge pickup and on all Dimarzio's the Red is the Hot and not the black thats seymour duncans, so you wired it all wrong and All of this could of been avoided if you just spent 30 seconds on the Dimarzio website man n for someone that owns a guitar shop n works on guitars as a guitar tech you should really already know this stuff, total fail man i would not let you near any of my guitars
Not buying that this is the same body.
cheap NJ series... not Platinum, but ok....
I remember fancying a BC Gunslinger when a poor kid around 90. Was a kind of budget hair axe at the time.
