If you have ever wondered how you level a sloping block, this video will help you understand precisely how and why. This video will help you with design guidelines for building on a sloping block.
00:00 Introduction working with contours and topography
00:12 Benching out a building platform (cut and fill) from a 3D site map.
01:30 adding retaining walls to a cut-and-fill site
02:45 Grading the levels to drain water away from a concrete slab on ground.
04:40 Position your terrain model to work with Sketchup Axis and PlusSpec Scenes, elevations and plans.
05:00 Quantifying cut and fill using the custom estimation tool inside PlusDesignBuild
07:45 Create terrain from 3D contours
08:20 Quantifying cut & fill using manifold geometry (advanced), including cost association and plant.
15:00 When to use split level or building on columns or stilts on bearers/girders and joists
18:00 Offsetting cut and fill grade/slope offsets using the Sketchup Stamp tool.
20:00 Editing terrain, smoothing edges and using sandbox tools to shape a topographical survey
Cut & Fill, Retaining walls, export spoil/fill, import spoil. Wastage and everything you need about designing and building on a sloping block.
Andrew demonstrates how to alter the terrain and decide if the project should be cut only, cut and fill or import fill and compact it onsite. Andrew shows how to quantify the amount of soil/spoil removed or imported in PlusDeisgnBuild for Sketchup.

Brilliant Andrew Thanks for sharing - now that is getting into the finer details and issues on designing on sloping sites. Well done - my shout next time :)

Glad to hear it; site design and contour manipulation can be really time-consuming when you don't know how.

Hello, do you know any plugin that allows you to flatten topographies without losing their original shape?

You'll find the that you'll have a contoured topo and flat topo when importing from nearmap bing or any others. You might need to go to the tags menu to turn it off. Or you could simply use the terrain tools and drop to selected have with a zero offset.
