@@justamood3077 they r BOTH true stories! Dangerous minds is from the book by luann Johnson who was a marine turned teacher at an inner city school. If i was in her position I'd start crying on the spot. To go through all that effort to break down barriers with stubborn war-hardened teenagers and not just get them to cooperate, but openly respect? When there was a previous scene where she was arguing with them about earning respect? TEARS, i tell you
It's because the admin and parents don't want us calling their kids out anymore. They mistake nice with kind, and while they often go together, parents don't want us to point out when they don't, they only want us to be nice. That's not to say that there aren't teachers that take the jadedness too far, but of the ones that don't, they cave to the excuses, and consequently lower the bar in the name of compassion.
I was fortunate enough to have a teacher like that..I graduated in 99 and her and I are still good friends and even friends of fb lol..she knows everything about me and prays for my daughters success ,same way she prayed for mine...I'm 39, but everytime I talk to her, I feel like I'm a little girl, still in junior class, struggling to just fit in..she reminds me of how amazing i really am, almost daily .. I pray every child, every being, gets to be treated with respect, dignity and compassion, no matter who they are, what they wear, the color of their skin and demographics!
i watched this movie when i was in 8th grade, together with all my classmates. my english teacher presented this movie to us and we all were intrigued by it. we didn't expect the movie to be this good and inspiring, we even get to continue the movie on lunch breaks! (because we keep pausing since each class ends in 40 minutes) coming back here to refresh the memories, this movie is a 10/10!
She does reminde of my 5th grade teacher....she was old school lol! She cared so much ahe gave little speeches, when someone was upset or angry....She was my momma teacher, and was the best!!

I love this movie
It's literally the SAME movie as Dangerous Minds. No, the inner city schools don't need a white savior. They need their own communities to care.
@@chaunybuck6065 dangerous minds was so exagerated lol, this is a true story.

Everyone in this iconic movie had a realistic character development
Probably because it is based on a real story. Idk if that's what you meant but yeh.
@@bloodymoon7315 but project every character development in a 2 hour movie is very impressive

3:42 why the fuck would she think they were literally calling her mom? lmao she's not that much older than them.
the children are supposed to be 14/15 year olds in the movie and i'm pretty sure she's supposed to be in her 30s or something
lmao she’s like 20 years older than them and she’s white so obviously she would assume they’d be calling her ‘mom’ because the word is similar.
You must be slow or something... Who TF calls someone who isn't their mom "ma?."

oh my- we had to study this film for english- it was such a good movie... but it was a comparative to a book-
What's the movie based on True Events, if so it states that she wasn't afraid to challenge the topic on gang, including a foreign tragedy Holocaust.,
