  • Is this G-scale loco starter set any good? Made by PIKO, this Ore Starter Set is still available new, but my new addition is second hand. Let’s take a look at what’s in the box, see the loco, wagons and track. And of course test out the set with the PIKO power controller.
The DLC System is the control system that I have developed for the Linleys Garden Railway. DLC stands for Decentralised Logic Control.

Great acquisition. Looks like the Hopper wagons are American style. Piko G specializes in standard gauge and American trains, while LGB specializes in narrower gauges. Track ties are different between LGB and Piko G.

Yeah, I have found the tracks are not exactly the same match. I am interested in more Piko, I like both the loco and the hopper wagons. I'd like a set of about 6 of the wagons to make up a longer train. I will keep my eye on the second-hand market as new ones are very expensive. Cheers, Warren :)

Ahh good point about the whole fleet. I could do a video about the complete set, but that would take some time to lay out. Cheers, Warren :)

I have 2 PIKO train sets. One is steam locomotive and the other is an electric locomotive. I have with me PIKO , LGB and Aristo tracks almost 100 feet in length.
I am into model trains and from Chennai India.

I am interested in buying more Piko locos as this one seems very suitable for my Garden Railway. You have a lot of track in your layout, excellent. Cheers, Warren :)

I had a German style radio controlled steam locomotive by Newqida. Too bad I couldn’t photos in the comment section, to know what I mean. I don’t have Piko locomotives running on my railway. I’m in to live steam locomotives really.

Maybe I can seek some advice from you about live steam at Gauge 1 scale. I should finish a branch line this winter which is especially included near to the grass edge for accessing a live steam loco. I will need radio controlled regulator for sure. Cheers, Warren :)

Not at all, but I am finding it difficult to do all of what I want to do, even though my time is much more flexible these days! Cheers, Warren
