- In this video we take the AAU2 Beta Boeing 787 Dreamliner for a few circuits in Auckland NZ (NZAA) to see how well the aircraft functions. We depart to a hold to a RNP RNAV approach followed by a missed approach then we dial down the weather to do a CAT3 ILS Autoland approach.
Great video I don’t usually watch the heavy A/C but this one was really interesting thank you.
Thanks, glad you found it interesting.
the NZ pushback helper is very calm
😂 Yes
Thanks Bandit,excellent vidéo!
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
This latest update of the 78 has certainly made a big improvement in flying it now. Great video again.
Thanks! Yes, this is a huge improvement, far from study level but much better than the original release.
There's a HAL9000 feel to some of that chatter 😎
In my best HAL voice, "leakimvideo, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Good-bye." 😉
Thanks for sharing your experience with the AAU2 beta.
1. Can you fly the Dreamliner without going thru the Checklist?
2. Have you tested if the Simbrief Panel works with AAU2 beta - I don't want to manually input the legs 😅
1. Yes
2. Yes, Simbrief Panel to display your flight plan but you cannot import you're plan into the FMC.
Cheers, hopefully Simbrief Panel will be updated shortly after AAU2 is released.
Thank you!
You're welcome, thanks for watching.
Great Video Bandit, very much appreciated. Just wondering if you worked out why the RNAV approach sometimes refuses to descend below the initial altitude window setting, and down the VNAV Path. So frustrating. Could it be that the lowest altitude/aerodrome height needs to be entered (and selected?) prior to TOD?.
It depends on the approach. If you are doing a RNP with a curved segment then you need to set airport elevation in the MCP and engage VNAV. Any other a approach, ILS/RNAV, or straight-in RNP then you can put the GP intercept altitude in the MCP and fly in LNAV/VNAV and then arm approach mode on the MCP. When it captures the approach it will capture GS for an ILS or GP for a RNAV. Hope that helps.
One curious thing is that the TO/GA button doesn't work if you have AP OFF...that's a bit annoying...(it works for takeoff), if you're approaching (AP Off), and press TOGA to going to "missed approach", simply the TO/GA button does not engage...it's very confusing.
It should work, as long as the flight directors are on which would give you TOGA flight director guidance without the autopilot. There are also some other requirements for TOGA to be available such as radar altitude.
yeah...but . If you can, do the test...A/T on and AP OFF...try press TOGA as if you were really going for "missed approach"...it doesn't work (unless the AP is on)@@banditflightsimmer6446

shame about the 3d model that looks nothing like the real 787
The 3d model is not the greatest but that is an Asobo thing, I'm just glad Working Title is fixing the aircraft to make it somewhat flyable.
It's not the greatest but to say it looks nothing like the real 787 is definitely a bit ridiculous imo
@@bearlysane if u like it, fly it, bur the 787 is an other thing. The proportion are completely wrong. Engine and wings are horrible. Apu is missing. I could go on for hours. Maybe try to open your eyes 👀 😃
