Well guys thankyou so much for joining me again on my little channel , well as you know we are on the lookout for a unicorn which is a bike that me and Shaun can both ride and not just a commuter , so that involves Shaun using it for work to avoid the toll charges and something i can use at the weekends as a "full size" bike to get my confidence back as a tip toe rider and to be honest as you probably know the toll charge savings alone would pretty much pay for it so in this video i head down to my local dealership to try a few bikes so we can start narrowing it down .
as always feel free to contact me .

Hope you get the bike your after. Me personally I will always go Honda, although as i'm getting older I do like the BMW's. Ride safe look forward to your next one.👍

This is the second time I’ve come across your channel and I most say it’s a great show, I’m 69 years young and I’ve a Kawasaki gtr 1400 ( yes its bloody heavy) but I love it, who would have thought years ago I’d still be able to throw my leg over a big bike like this but like I say she’s a great bike, I to dabble in painting I try and do a BOB ROSS wet on wet it’s a great way to unwind, anyway I’ll stop going on and just say it’s a great channel and keep up the riding coz you never know what life throws at you 👍👍👍👍👍

I'm the same age as you , own/ride a couple of bikes , my air-therapy/time-alone space . I don't paint (yet) but i do write plus a bit of meditation . If you want to continue throwing that leg over a bike into the-future , consider The Tibetan 5-Rites , after a bike-accident 4-years-ago , I was told I couldn't ride . Getting the use of my arms-back was a slow-process until I discovered the-5 . I couldn't do them properly for a long-time but even my Specialist started doing them after seeing the sudden healing-results with me . I only do it 7-times (you can do up to 21-moves ) and you start-off doing only one of each posture . They pre-date Yoga and were originally-done fluidly , not slowly, both ways work . I recently bought one of those Bell Qualifier helmets in black / cyan / white, at 7:57 in the video, I have a 60cm head and I bought a large (59 to 60cm), it feels very tight on my head, so much so that I can feel my pulse when I'm wearing it. I bought it online, not a good idea buying a helmet without trying it on first.

Not all Harley's are heavy, my Softail street Bob FXBB is light, nimble and agile but best of all is low enough for you and still big enough for Shaun. I had a kawasaki vulcan s and it surprised my friend when he rode it back from the hospital for me.
It's low enough for you and is great, responsive and would fit you both. It's a hard thing to share a bike. One of you is going to be compromising and your height doesn't allow for that. As a short rider I know the downsides.
I've got an intruder but it's 40kg heavier than the vulcan s.

Indicator does becomes "muscle memory" after a while.
What's happening about a camper van?
If you don't use a helmet any longer, give it to the Fire Brigade or Ambulance Service so they can practice removing them safely from accident victims. That's where mine go when I've finished with them.

Indicators !!😠 My lad was as guilty as hell (bless him, no longer with us, M/C fatality) so I rode behind him 3 consecutive days, and every time he left an indicator on I gave him a blast of my Denali Air horn , by the 3rd day he was pretty much sorted, and riding with him subsequently, he was considered to be cured !! 🙂as an ex traffic cop, leaving on indicators can be a contributory factor to SMIDSY's, so it is a habit that needs to be nipped in the bud, good luck with the search for a new bike, bit of quandary on a bike for both of you 👍

      @@fayetinsley1580 Hi Faye,
      Thanks for the message,
The indicators is just a memory thing, and the more you ride the easier it gets , but tbh, the Rebel dash (I have same in a CL500) is pretty dark and the indicator lights are poor too. Honda dropped the ball with this dash, looks very dated.😞
I’ve owned 104 bikes, ridden from age 5 (dad was a speedway rider) and treated them as toys, just for leisure, but after losing my son in 2011, I had a severe mental breakdown, which cost me everything, home, job & wife. But after a year, I got better and went back to live with my Mom in the West Midlands (had been in Hospital for 10 months and my prognosis was I’d always be a ‘cabbage’ the rest of my life , hence medically retired and my wife divorced me) Boy did I prove them all wrong !!! 😲
So after just over a year, I decided to tax & insure my R1, unsure if I had the mental strength to ride it and its consequential emotional baggage. I was fine, and now I have 4 bikes that are my emotional escapism and ride nearly every day, here in Mid Wales (moving here was another decision to ease the pain) so going from being toys, they are now an essential part of my life, and I could not live without them, and I have a much clearer understanding of mental health issues.
Life is strange and hurtful at times, but from everything that happens we continually learn, and grow wiser. 👍
Take care, was nice to have a reply from you, much appreciated, thank you 🙂

I have a 2017 Iron 883 had it since new (yes heavy and expensive) but I can cruse at 80 miles at 4,500 rpm rain hail shine or wind and it won’t budge 🤣 but I want to return back to adventure riding so my plan was either a BMW 310GS same as gf or a KTM 390 Adventure but Royal Enfield just keeps getting me sidelined with the 650 shotgun and the 450 Himalayan. I like classic retro so with v-twin sound
