- The main content of this video is Tintagel castle in Cornwall the seat (maybe/could be) of King Arthur son of Uther of Britain (I'm getting carried away with myself here).
The video begins when I went to Ogri summer rally in Cirencester and forgot my tent and mattress and it was incredibly heavy rain...but people were kind and so it was OK. More than OK, I had a brilliant and funny time.
Then on the Sunday I went to a bike day in Newton Abbot and (I had no idea) it was run by Satan's Slaves. I tried not to terrify or intimidate anyone (!!!! hahum) and I enjoyed that too and all were most charming.
And then I went to Tintagel in Cornwall. A gloriously beautiful ride there on the XV1700 and it was a really splendid day weather wise and a really magical place to be. I don't say 'magical' because of the King Arthur and Merlin connection. But it is a phenomenal place with utterly breath taking views.
I’m like a broken record, I keep playing this video over and over again. Thank you for the music 🤪- and your sense of humour is hilarious 🤣
Hooray, that's a brilliant comment, thank you. I like it when people are happy! And my sense of humour has been thought to be alarming!! So I'm glad you like it!
Definite vibes of Fenella Fielding (Carry on Screaming). ❤
Do you know, I can't hear it myself. But, people have said that for absolute years!
Good to hear from you again, better to be seeing you do what you do best, blessed be you, speed and light...
Hello my friend, that's very lovely of you, thank you most kindly.
You are very talented love the art work that ive seen water colour so difficult but you are awesome and mastered it .very blessed ❤
That's so very kind of you, thank you very much indeed!!
Loving your music, "somehow it all went wrong" is a favourite at the moment 😁
I wrote and recorded that song absolutely years ago, and listened to it for the first time in ages when I made that video and.... even though it's my song....I really like it too. So, I thank you very much!
After you saying about the porridge with sugar and cocoa I gave it a try- bloody lovely! It’ll be my winter kickstart to start the day again this year!
Did you really? That's so funny!! It's brilliant isn't it!! My Grandma used to put marmite on hers!! Hope you're well Stewart!
Tintagel love it keep sucking keep puffing the music the cigars the ambience of the place glad you revisited
Haha thank you very much indeed!! I shall definitely keep doing all that!!
Absolutely love your channel you make me smile. Great music too 😀😀
Oh that's very lovely of you, thank you very much indeed!!
Hi Sophia, your videos definitely have a Marian Faithful, " Girl on a Motorcycle "vibe, especially with those cool, retro 1960s style sunglasses.
BTW, as every Scotsman will tell you, the only way to eat porridge is with a Cadburys cream egg mixed into it.😁😁😁
Enjoy your holiday!
I hadn't thought of that! Maybe I should start wearing the vintage leather one piece I picked up! And....I LOVE cadbury's creme eggs!!! Do people really put them in their porridge now? That sounds really exciting!!
@@lionheartmachines2193 Yes, not only do we put them in our porridge, but they can be deep fried just like mars bars!
Well I think that's the height of sophistication!!
Brilliant , I love the history ; Awesomeness and as always great music and voice 🥰🤗😎😎😎🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️👊
Hoorah Keith!! Thank you very much indeed, that's made me really happy! Love to you and yours!
Just found the channel and had look around. I like it. Great music too. Watch the blood sugar levels😂
Sensible!!! (Blood sugar levels comment...) I'd better not eat it every day... And hoorah that you like the channel, that's brilliant!
I always felt there was a slight antagonism in Sir Kay`s and Arthur`s relationship with Kay being A hardcore Bay City Rollers Fan.
I thought it was because at dinner once, their mother mentioned that Arthur was better looking....Kay grew up jealous I think. Poor things!!
@@lionheartmachines2193 The damage a mothers favouritism and insensitivity can cause, Kay put itching powder in Arthurs armour once. They both got sent to bed with no supper. Arthur retaliated by cutting up Kay`s tartan scarf.
@@paulwoodward6555 I expect it escalated pretty quickly after that!!
@@lionheartmachines2193 Of course the whole of the round table had to consult with Merlin when they got to I`ve got a brand new combine Harvester on the play list as they wanted to know what kind of future technological wizardry this might be. Well Met Sophia . Have a blessed day.
So pleased those three bears never turned up while you ate the Masterchef porridge!
Great video once again, I like watching them twice, since second time listening to the music only ….big yacht to sail away…so tempting at times.
Oh, thank you very much. MasterChef porridge!!! That made me laugh! A big yacht full of motorcycles! That would be splendid!!
can't eat porridge, gives me rotten heartburnwhich is annoying as I do like the stuff, love the castle and legends as well so interesting video
Thank you ever so much. I'm disgusting with my porridge! Tintagel is a special place, I'm glad you liked it!!
Great vid footage of your ride, and of the castle. Very good thank you gorgeous x
Oh, thank you very much indeed! That's very kind of you. Safe trucking!!
Porridge is a great start to the day for sure,
It also makes a good glue to anything porcelain /ceramic,or wooden when dried ,😂👍.
Another fantastic video, and vocals to suit lovely lady,,
Ride safe 👍💕
@@terry6721 thank you most kindly, that's very lovely of you. I've just had a curry and the thought of porridge now is making me feel a bit sick!! You keep safe and happy too!!
What a cracking video,it really hit the mark and gave me a lot of pleasure watching your tour of Tintagel Castle and porridge recipe.I love porridge but have never tried it with cocoa Stay safe Sophia and keep making these great videos.
Hello Derek, you're so lovely, thank you so much!! Tintagel really is in the most glorious setting. I think it would be even lovelier not to have all the humans there though! Anyway I'm very happy that I made you happy! You keep safe and happy too and it's lovely to hear from you!!
Never knew tintangle existed thank you for showing me beautiful countryside and castle it was spectacular 😉
Oh well that's brilliant then! Oh I bet it's glorious on a windy day! There'd be no people and the sea would be crashing!
Lovely vid Sophia. Long ago I knew a beautiful girl who also spoke beautifully too, just like you . I miss her very much. Recently subbed .
That's very kind of you, thank you! That's very sad though about the girl you miss though!!
VvvvV The Rockies in Canada dwarf all mountains in USA. Chill vibe. Especially in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and the grewel sticks to your ribs in the cooler moments. Coast quite like Hawaii or Penzance
So I came here for the bikes and leave with an ear worm of a lyric in my "fondled freaky brain" and thoughts of how some grated orange zest would be great on your porridge creation. The slow tictoc of the kitchen clock was a lovely ending to an eclectic video ❤.
Orange peel is a really good idea...a brilliant idea...I'm going to try it! And, thank you very much indeed. I wrote and recorded that song years ago. I love the sound of a ticking clock too...I'm listening to it now, it's beautiful. Lovely to hear from you!
I love porridge, too. I have it every day and sometimes twice in one day. I love butting sultanas in Yum 😀😂😍
Really...twice a day!? I always pick sultanas out of everything and wonder if there's any humans that actually like them!!
Far too many people , everywhere is far too crowded.
Banana and cinnamon in my porridge, with a pot of fresh coffee.
@@dogpaw775 the crowds do put a downer on it for me, but sometimes I can just block them out...other times I get infuriated. But then I was one of those who made up the crowd! No sugar in your porridge!!!
@@lionheartmachines2193 oops", plus a half spoon of Greek yoghurt. I don't have a sweet tooth but the new neighbour makes me non tooth achingly cakes, apple crumble and all sorts, all I do is say help yourself to apples off the tree; sometimes life just works as it should.
Grow gooseberries and get them to make you a fool!! You can't beat a gooseberry fool!!
Absolutely brilliant video Sophia .. that porridge looks amazing…😊x
You're very lovely and kind Michael, thank you so much!!
As a diabetic I am very envious of you eating that gorgeous looking porridge, good vid...like n sub.
I think it's lovely...but lots of people are horrified by it! And...that must be utterly miserable being diabetic!!
@@lionheartmachines2193 I had 59 years of eating everything and anything I wanted to eat so the years I hav left watching what I eat is not that much of a burden. The bonus is I lost nearly 5 stone in weight, not that you need to loose any weight from your slim and athletic body, if I may be as bold to say.
Great vid , I know a few of the guys in the vid as a Newton abbot guy
Thank you so much. And you'll have to tell them they're in it!
Sorry, late to the comments but I did watch the video straightaway. Very much enjoyed it especially Tintagel. I've never been but maybe I will now.
That second song made me think of when it's warm (remember that?) and I don't bother to get dressed, just dance around in my garden in my nightie. 😊
We've finally got neighbours in the big house next door so I expect I'll have to stop all that as they have five children. And watch my language! On second thoughts, sod it, I don't care anymore about being good. Maybe I'll get them all tattooed and body pierced and teach them to swear 😂
My favourite porridge is honey or golden syrup, with nutmeg and cinnamon. Still sweet but not as sweet as yours 😁
Oh, thank you!! And....I don't need to remember summer because I'm in the USA at the moment and I've been sweltering. Having a splendid time and getting into the odd bit of trouble....I'm going to make some videos of this trip definitely!
And talk about sweet breakfasts....one hotel I stayed at served proper doughnuts for breakfast!!! Loads of them...so exciting! And as to your neighbours.... keep being you or else you'll get frustrated and do something bad!!
@@lionheartmachines2193 😁
Not only was the caption 'King Arthur was partial to a Cornish pasty when he worked in the tin mines and listened to the Wurzels on Spotify' hilarious in its own right, it was made even funnier by you feeling the need to add, '( I made that up) just afterwards. Classic Sophia 🤗
But you never know though do you!! Some people are utterly daft! I heard someone recently say that "water is really dehydrating"!!!! I can be slightly daft too of course!!
@@lionheartmachines2193 Oh Sophia, I should write down these pearls of wisdom of yours. You, slightly daft?? Surely not 🤗

My favoiurite bowl is one I discovered buried in my garden thirty years ago. It didn't have a scatch on it and somehow I have not managed to break it in all that time. BTW that track starting at 21 mins is an absolute corker.
Oh, thank you very much, the songs are all me singing. You've done very well with that bowl!! I'm wondering how it ended up buried in your garden!!
Great vid , great music as always . Dried oats , almond milk, natural yogurt , blueberries, protein powder all in a shake for me
That sounds like a muscle man meal! And very healthy. I don't like blueberries, I always think that's what bruises would taste like!! And...thank you!!
Loving the music! I always have oats with honey or maple syrup, but I think I need to try the cocoa recipe now! I drove along the N.Devon coastline recently and can recommend Woolacombe and Lynton as great stops on the way through to Cornwall.
Thank you so much! And, maple syrup is definitely one to try too! I did a bit of Exmouth on Sunday, and I do love that road. I stopped at Ralegh's Cross for a Sunday roast. There is some splendid countryside down here!
Love watching your videos ' you have got a right sweet tooth ' don't blame you though ' enjoy it 😊

Do u no ,for a moment there, i thought ?why would tin miners listen to "ive gota brand new combine harvester ", 😂😂
@@terry6721 haha, whilst munching on a pastie and fighting a dragon all at the same time!!
Great video, you can keep the porridge but I really loved the bit about Tintagel. Last time I visited it must have been back in the mid 1980's when my daughter was little, its certainly got more commercialised since then. The bridge was lower down and you crossed by the church then hade a hard uphill struggle to get to the old 14th century castle ruins.
Like you Ive always loved the Arthurian myths but then my family is of Welsh extraction so my ancestors are closer to the people of that time. Well maybe 🤔
Yes, I grew up with my head full of Arthurian legends and Alan Garner books too. I'm a bit of a mountain goat on the move but I think lots of that terrain would definitely be quite challenging for lots of people.
When my son was little I read a Welsh book to him called 'The Changeling' he's still terrified of it now! There are some superb Welsh legends!
Like you I grew up with the tales of Arthur starting with the BBC TV Lancelot stories back in the mid 1950's. However I've always thought of Arthur as being real - maybe a Romano/Celtic psychopathic warlord but someone who was able to keep the Saxon hordes back.
Mons Badonicus was fought around 500 AD and the Saxons were badly defeated and stayed away until around 577 with the defeat of the Brits at the battle of Dyrham (or Deorham) around the Bristol/Bath region long after Arthur had died. This split the country of south and midlands/Wales in two unfortunately, with Devon and Cornwall in the south and Wales etc in the northern section.
At that time the Welsh/Celtic language was only a spoken one so the Bards would have told fantastic tales around campfires and in the halls of other warlords, alas over time these stories were lost to the world 😢
However Geoffrey of Monmouth writing many, many years (1136, Historia Regnum Britanniae) later had probably heard, being Welsh, some of the tales and wrote the basic one of Arthur down in his history of the Kings of the British Isles.
As you said the Thomas Mallory story with its many knights etc is what we all tend to believe now.
There are possibly 3 sites for Mons Badonicus (Mount Badon) either Little Solisbury Hill on the outskirts/above Bath, Lillington Castle (another Iron Age Hillfort) outside of Swindon, or near where I used to live, Badbury Rings (yet another hillfort) on the outskirts of Wimborne in 'Darset' - Dorset to you. 😂
Of the films made over the years the early 80's one called Excalibur is quite enjoyable with a lot of young (at the time) British actors in it. Yes the armour is incorrect but it does follow Mallory's book quite well - almost anyway.
If you want to find the possible site of Camelot then go to South Cadbury Castle (yet another Iron Age Hillfort) in Somerset - you can see Glastonbury Tor from the ramparts, its just off the A303 which used to be one of my favourite roads when I was younger and had a Kawasaki ZZR 1100 which could be 'quite fast' before all the gatso speed cameras were installed.
Beautiful scenery.

Did you read 'The Mists of Avalon' as well? It's written from Morgan's perspective, irrc. It's been a while, but I remember it was a great read.
