No, not really. Try and live, work and survive there and you will really want and wish you can migrate elsewhere or travel elsewhere like Chinese cities which is the .ost modern, cleanest and safer. Not like rubbish everywhere with slum infrastructure like in USA. Vietnam idolize USA and is becoming a slum tent cities like the USA.
The food & coffee culture in Vietnam is like no other. No sure if you guys visited Hanoi yet but it’s must. Every region in Vietnam has a different vibe
Oh yeah! We did a quick stop in Hanoi! We visited Ha Long Bay from there! You’re right, every region has its own, cool vibe!!
The coffee culture is definitely on another level in Vietnam. The cute and uniquely themed cafes, the fresh/genuine ingredients, the variations, etc...and all that for dirt cheap. It's a shame Starbucks makes a kajillion dollars for inferior products while hardworking Viets get paid pennies for selling amazing stuff. Definitely try salted, peanut, egg, etc. coffees.

That is the fusion of East and West in Vietnamese Bánh Mì: special French baguette( more fluffy inside due to rice flour mixed in), Pate ( French origin) and Vietnamese stuffings: roasted pork, pickled carrot/daikon, cilantro, fish sauce ( or soy sauce) … Eating the very fresh baguette just came out of the oven is a treat by itself.

Hoi An is such a unique town.
Once you eat Vietnamese food in VN, no other Vietnamese food outside of VN will feel the same or as good. The eatery, the people watch, the freshness of the food, the ingredients are all different. I think you're in So Cal so you'll hear a lot of people talk about VN restaurants in Orange County is just as good but that's just a bunch of copium b.s. It's good but compared to food in VN, there's no contest. And that's just the eateries, when it comes to cafes, coffees in Vietnamese cafes are on a different planet.
We believe you 1000% that there will never be a replacement for the real thing. We're not setting ourselves up for that disappointment lol. We bought some spices to take home so hopefully we'll be able to cook up a couple dishes on our own to hold us over until the next trip lol. You're right, you can't beat how fresh and amazing the food is! Thank you so much for sharing your kind words and information. And thank you so much for watching!

That coffee was amazing!! They do coffee right in Vietnam. If we could have squeezed in that hat, we would have.Still have months of traveling ahead of us. We didn't have room to add an eyelash in our suitcase, carry on bags or heads lol

Carmen, are you an actress or something? you have that factor. I'm going to Vietnam next week and will try to stop by Hoi An to see what people have been praising that part of my motherland is all about.
If you can fit it in, please make a stop in Hoi An! They hate a great custom clothing culture, trailers everywhere. We'd recommend at least 5 days for that. If you want to pop in and pop out, 3-4 days will do it!
And you nailed it, Carmen is an actress! She's been in a lot of things but most known for playing Principal Carmen Molina on Breaking Bad!

Try cao lau from Morning Glory as Sonny featured it as well as Nu Eatery in his video years ago. Someone ate at cao lau there recently and said it was amazing. Hoi An has lots of great food from all over. You can go to Ba Le Well and get some wraps that you should love. Regarding banh mi, it's possible that when Anthony Bourdain went, it was the best, but often with places like that, the quality may go down over time. Also, it might be a preference as each place does it differently. But banh mi are overall great overall no matter where you get it. Pate in Vietnam is made from pork liver.

Tip for crossing street in Vietnam:
Many tourist foreigners scared of traffic in VN . Don’t worry about it! The rule to win this fear is keep routin slowly walking when you across the streams of motobike! -motobykers knows how to avoid you themself in chaos-order! remmember do not run and stop suddently , accident immidiatly ! Don’t be affraid off and do it if you want to be safety in the crazy- rule traffic in Vietnam.
TIP for save your money when enjoy Vietnamese cuisine : Find the shop sever 1 food that many people comes . Street- food instead of smart restaurants !

On the river bank they have the ticket stands with fixed prices, here everything is regulated even the lanterns are fixed in 1 style, you can't just put on any lanterns. The unregulated boat rides they come solicit you and can call on any price and they can hang any lanterns on their boat, except they can't go through the inner city path, or they will get fined .

Thank you so much. The cameras were a GoPro hero 10 and a DJi pocket 2. As far as the mics. That’s a sore spot. We didn’t realize until way after we left that we had a short in one of our mics. We felt like crying hearing that. But what are you gonna do 🤷🏾♂️. The mics were the wireless Rode mics with Rode lav mics attached.

Damn, the Queens Banh Mi is thick AF. Pate is basically pork liver. The missing ingredient that you mentioned could be the honey mayo mix which I didn't see they add. Banh mi Phuong is ok but overrated. Viet coffee is very strong and sometime very sweet. I normally dilute mine with ice or hot water. Try the egg coffee if you could
