What's your business model when hiring other babysitters to work in your business? For example, do they set their own prices with the families or does the transaction go through you? Do they keep most or all of the profit? How do you retain them? I would love to hear your insight on this! If it's already on your channel, forgive me; I recently discovered your content. I love how genuine you are!
Thank you for watching, I appreciate it! Great question, the babysitters in my company are my actual employees, all payments go though the business and I pay my employees just like any other job! They keep a large portion of what they make! Retaining employees can be tricky but all it comes down to is what you offer! Please let me know if you have any other questions!
You know I'm just 11 and I watched your video on what age you can babysit the before and It just really prepared me so thank you so much! Love wishes to you and the whole world
So my family just moved recently, and I have been starting to prepare to start a babysitting business. I have a few girls that are wanting to do it with me, but I was wondering how you worked out the mechanics of running a full blow business? Like do you have like “business taxes” taken out of their paycheck for group games, books, etc? How many days a week do you recommend meeting? Things like that! By the way I have been watching your videos for a while now, and I think they are very helpful!
Hey there thanks so much for watching and I’m so glad the videos are helpful. I do have girls that work for me. They do get a paycheck through a company called QuickBooks. I do take out taxes it’s just like a regular job for them. I do not reimburse for books or games or anything that they want to use as far as items that would go into a babysitting bag. I do meet with the girls individually on a quarterly basis to see how they are doing, if they have any issues with families or if I get feedback from families that I need to discuss with them. Good luck with starting your biz. I’m excited for you. Keep me posted.
I really don't know, I'm sorry. The cost of living out there is so much higher than where I am. I would just Google it or ask around. Ask friends that babysit or if you see parents that have kids ask them what the going rate for a sitter is these days. Its a great conversation starter. A great way to let them know that you are thinking about babysitting.
We have a business is my town with 3 girls and over 60 kids that we built in less then a year! How have you gotten more girls to work with you? How do you gain this trust?
That is awesome!!! Great question. I again used the resources I had first which is the parents. I ask them if they know of other sitters that would like to be part of a group that can keep them busy babysitting more than one night a week. When that ran dry, then I looked at the neighborhood FB group and found girls that were letting the neighbors know they were home from college if anyone needed a sitter. I reached out to them and let them know I could keep them busy at least 3 nights a week rather than just one night. I now have people tagging me in posts for both of those who are looking for sitters and those who are looking for jobs. Hope that helps.
First off, I loved the video, but I would like your advice. I was planning to start a babysitting business with one of my friends, but she quited and started the identical business behind my back. How can I beat her or avoid having her as competition?
Thats a tough one. You just need to be you. Get your certifications in CPR/First Aid, take a babysitting course, volunteer at a place with kids so you are meeting the parents and they get to know you. Just be you and be prepared.
Hey Lydia I enjoy your channel and watch daily. I am currently starting to babysit so this is very helpful. Can you please lower the price at your Etsy post - Ultimate babysitting package - Babysitting binder forms £8.02. Its kind of expensive where I live. Thanks 😘😘😘
Hi Naya Cupcake (cute name). Thank you so much for watching I really appreciate it. I'm am going to run a 2 day "Special" you will be able to get that bundle for $5.00 (us) from now until Wednesday. Hope you're able to grab some games on there as well.
Do you have any tips for younger babysitters? I am very knowledgeable when it comes to child care because of all the research and classes I take, but the problem is that since I’m younger less people think of me when their kids need sat. In their minds why hire this kid over this 18 yr that can drive the children places. Thank you in advance love the vids.
Just keep the faith. Ask other parents that you sit for to vouch for you and hang in there. It will click for you and when it does you will be so busy you’ll have to tell people that you’re booked and can’t sit for them.
Hi! I have a scheduling app that tracks the availability of the babysitters. We do trainings, one on one meetings and team meetings. We as a business attend events and network as much as possible!
I only watch 2 kids with all my family I babysat I never watch 1 or more then 2 kids, I will be meeting a family tomorrow with 3 kids. Is babysitting three harder then watch 2 kids or is it about the same?
Not too much difference. You just have to keep alert and pay attention. No down time. Try to keep them busy so they stay out of trouble. I'm sure you will be fine. 😊
I built my business on word of mouth. It is the best way (but not the only way). I started with only one family and now have over 300. You just need to keep looking for opportunities to tell people what you do. We all start out with just 1 so don't give up.
thanks u are such a great person
Thank you!

How much do you recommend charging in California?

I love your response but how do you tell families about a new sitter coming to their home?
