It does sound super interesting and I love fantastical worlds with complex history behind it. I'm not really a big fan of Dark fantasy but I can mention a few thing I like, like Courage the cowardly dog, Over the Garden Wall, The Owl House, not an entire show but The Adventure Tme's mini series Steaks - which is great.
My only problem is the background fauna wish their more speculative, but that outweigh by the fact The Sauria sapiens look far more realistic then the west of Eden books
*As far as other dark fantasy media I have experienced and liked, besides "Sauria", these below would be twelve of my go-to examples in no particular order:* 1.) Genndy Tartakovsky's "Primal" 2.) "The Dark Crystal" and "The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance" 3.) "A Song of Ice and Fire"/"Game of Thrones" 4.) Some Castlevania video games and Netflix's "Castlevania" series 5.) FromSoftware's "Bloodborne" video game 6.) "Pan's Labyrinth" 7.) "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask" 8.) The Cthulhu Mythos (albeit a mix of sci-fi/supernatural/psychological horror) 9.) The Harry Potter franchise 10.) The Lord of the Rings franchise 11.) The original "Beowulf" poem and 2007's animated "Beowulf" film 12.) Homer's "The Odyssey"
