The BlueSong are in the midst of a full-scale invasion of mainland SAURIA. The region is extraordinarily dangerous - filled with bandits, pillagers, and barbarians. The very land itself is even sick with magical corruption. The BlueSong believe it is their mission to tame and control these wilds for the good of all Saurians. I often frame the BlueSong as the "bad guys" in the series but let's be honest; the Fell and the Kindred aren't exactly "good guys" either! :P
So the BlueSong Empire is like the Sauria version of the Imperium of Mankind from WH40K that's the lawful evil, vs the Fell's chaotic evil & vs the Kindred's neutral evil? Or ya know the Blue Song Empire is an inspiration from the Roman Empire. :P
i think there should be a pachycephalosaur faction. Maybe like a race that builds city states that trade and stuff but don't necessarily try to expand...in most cases. Maybe they could be the first to develop gunpowder/new weapon. Maybe they could be famous for special armour?
And is likely Great One corrupted as well, as she has the same yellow-green glow as the Fell, when the only other magic-touched individual (Taurox) has a pure white glow.

She's definitely dabbled in Dark magic, and mas most likely broken freevfro. The madness, which is probably apart of why she and the rest of the Empire abstain from sorcery so much. @@the_furry_inside_your_walls639 Even though she might have been able to resist her dabling in magic might be the reason the fell and transcended ones did awaken and are increasing in numbers.
She's being used by the Fell to look for something in their old ruins. Glowing eyes, unnaturally long lifespan, beginning the obsession with Forefather knowledge and urging her entire civilization to conquer an entire continent, likely to find as many ruins as possible? Makes it look like the Fell/Transcended Ones are using the entire Blue Song race to look for something hidden in the old Forefather ruins.

I think it's a sign of the dark margice of Saura influencing them. In the chancellor perhaps granting her knowledge and inmortality... But to what price... Also the red chief, he also in some capacity dabbles in sorcery
My guess is that she found out about The Elder Ones and is on a path to become Transcended One. And the invasion is the cover to finding more clues to the process.

Had the exact same thought. I know that Planegea for 5e D&D hits a similar vibe. Might be good as a starting point for setting and/or conversion ruleset.
I don't know if this was intentional but I like how the Bluesong are in many ways the dinosaur equivalent of the British Empire, being born on an island with a history of being under the rule of a former great civilization (the Forefathers for the Bluesong and the Romans for the British) and conquering lands inhabited with "primitive races" in an attempt to make them more suitable for a more modern lifestyle. It's really cool honestly and this series has been an amazing ride through and through, would love to see more of it.
Oh, that's DEFINITELY part of it. Indeed, I'd argue that it's more specific than that - the BlueSong are England and the other factions of Sauria are different facets of Celtic identity (connection with the land, pagan belief systems, etc.). It would not surprise me if David, being Scottish, has many opinions concerning Englishness/'Britishness' being politically pushed upon his country - a place with its own distinct history and presence. The most obvious example of this, for me, is the planned Episode 4 - about a Saurian race who once had proud traditions and victories but have now been pushed into a life of servitude and squalor, in order to fit the agricultural needs of the BlueSong (this happened with Scotland, Wales and Ireland in the real world). Plus Sauria as an island resembles the island of Britain, which doesn't feel coincidental. Other BlueSong/England parallels - a queen who lived for so long as to essentially become codified in the nation's mythos, an army claiming altruism and kindness to justify their imperial ambitions and, probably most significantly, a huge emphasis on class. Class disparity has been an enormous part of English life over the past millennium at least, and that has seeped in Scotland, Wales and Ireland too (the above agricultural example, the Irish Troubles and pushes for Scottish independence are all emergent properties of this). The BlueSong literally have class status baked into their fundamental biology, in the form of the antlers. Both the English class system and the BlueSong antlers cause utter misery, a direct impediment on individuals' lives, but for those in power, they are a source of needless pride - and thus they are retained.
I think David did take inspiration from the British rein. Remember he's Scottish, Scotland and England have a VERY close and complex relationship since the 2 were founded
Isn't the creator british/scottish? He mentioned that the northern regio is inspired by the drastic diffrence between scotland in the summer and in the winter. This might have consciously or subconsciously influenced some other aspects off the worldbuilding.

I think we've collectively agreed that the Chancellor has for sure dabbled in some form of magic to lengthen her life, but while that's a fascinating fact on it's own, I'm even more interested about how it correlates to the Blue Song's aversion to sorcery. Was she the one who banned magic, and if so, did she do it to save her people from the consequences, or did she do it to keep that power for herself? I'm also curious if she's under the Elder Ones' influence at all, or if she's managed to shave just enough off the top to extend her life _and_ keep herself completely free from them. This world has me hooked, lined, and sinkered, David: I need you to know just how absolutely brilliant you are.
At last! A look into the BlueSong! I was wondering where their rainforest home was located. I hope we can one day hear more about the chancellor, or see Ornithocera doing the Elder Ones' bidding. A look at the wild seas around Sauria, or the Plumerian rainforest ruins of the Forefathers, would be an amazing story. Whatever form Sauria may take in the future, I look forward to it!
Yes!!! Gahhh!!! Been waiting for this one haha!!! Forever inspired by your worldbuilding capabilities and especially how that influences your character design. Makes the world feel ten times fuller and real
This was a fantastic video, love the lore. My favorite detail, though, is the mention of not wanting to get into spoilers for 'possible future episodes'. Hells yes, more please! In your own time of course.
I feel like the Blue Song may be repeating history a little bit. The Forefathers, I'm assuming fell because they meddled too much in sorcery. It seem like the Chancellor did/is doing the same thing, explaining why she's so long lived. And with the Fell rising in numbers, and a Transcended One coming up to lead them... Makes you wonder how long this has been in motion. That small detail of the eyes opened up an even bigger connected Eldritch narrative and I am loving it! You certainly have a talent for world building.
I don’t know if it’d be worth doing but maybe a film could focus on a prequel when Captain Ornithicera leaves (getting to see some of the BlueSong’s home and their excitement or what have you about going on a crusade) and his first expedition goes horribly wrong and earns his scars, and perhaps get to see insight into his peers’ reaction to him? Also just being able to show how the soldiers react to completely foreign beasts that tear them to shreds sounds like an awesome opportunity. That feels like an absolutely massive project to take on but I think the end result would be incredible.
glad to see confirmation that one of my top favourite Dinosaurs, Baryonyx, exists in this worthy-of-a-TV-show-and-toy-line world, let alone the fact that they left a lasting physical impression on a character as significant as Captain Ornithicera; hope they might show up in a later episode (provided this series is continued, of course)
This deserves to be so much more than a RUclips series the lore is interesting and intriguing, the creature designs are cool, the characters have so much potential for more depth and stories I would love fore this to be so much more because it honestly could be
Definitely cool how the most regal faction here are portrayed as the *_BAD_* guys while the more intimidating Kindred of the Tusk are just doing what they can to survive in the wild and not going out of their way to hurt anyone like these guys.
To be fair, the Kindred of the Tusk are bandits, thieves, and pirates, so they are actively antagonistic to others. The difference between how the two groups conquer others is that the Kindred are not interested in controlling/subjugating the rest of Sauria while the Blue Song are.
I think it's also worth remembering that the kindred of the tusk are as morally grey as they come, and while they are keeping the imperialistic blue song at bay they are still mostly pillagers and assassins with little regard for anyone but their own, as proven by the poachers who killed Helionyx's mate
Also, the kindred were also seen poaching innocent animals which got them killed by Helionyx, not really as comparable to being bandits and pillagers but still not that great. They're only ever seen as heroes when compared to the Bluesong
Little theory’s here, the chancellor has been performing some kind of witchcraft to keep herself alive, I know that’s basically the plot of Doctor Strange but that’s the vibe I’m getting. I also keep thinking about the last scene of rise of the decade, where the captain looks down and seems to react to the death of his comrade and there’s a little part of him where it looks like he’s reacting and horror, as if some element of him is still there even if it’s broken. But at the same time, it could also be that when he looks there, he kind of doesn’t react, then looks almost towards the camera before he reacts. As if he’s just some complete horrifying husk. I feel like him being able to retain some element of himself against the Will of some outer gods of horror would probably not fit the vibes David’s going for but still. It would be cool. Got it so many more little thoughts and theories But we’ll see
I'm so in love with the lore of Sauria... and i desperately want to know more about the Chancellor and Captain Ornithicera. Its such intriguing lore, with beautifully designed characters in an interesting world, and i love it so much.
I just wanna say that your work is amazing and has rekindled my love for worldbuilding, I actually had an idea similar to Sauria a few years back and your absolute masterclass of a story has really got me thinking about getting back to work on it.
I think i speak for a good chunk of people who watch this series when i say that this is some of the best animated RUclips videos that ive ever discovered
Something about this world David has created, crafted and brought to life is just so captivating to me. This is some truly amazing work for a solo animated series.
Heck yes!!! Was waiting for this since the first episode. With all those turn table models, I sure as hell wouldn’t mind a wargame based around this setting
I hope we see a continuation of Sauria - if not as a video series (because it's so time consuming), maybe as a novel or short story or a comic? Anyway, thanks for everything you do! :)
We have the Bluesong who are said to be like sophisticated elves while the Kindred are like barbaric orcs. Next we need a Dwarf-like race of saurians resembling a mix of various armored dinosaurs. We already have Pachycephalosaurs acting as Hobbits.
Yessss!!! Finally, some lore about the faction of Sauria that I've most been waiting for. All the factions are great, but for me I think this is the most interesting one, until the Fell came and became tied with them (and with just one episode!). Please, keep up the good work, you have many, many fans of this series and we'd love to see more.
I love this entire setting, and the series has been nothing short of phenomenal! …but, I do really hope we get to hear the full version of the song you use for the intro of these lore videos.
A truly incredible and fascinating world you have created....... its amazing how each episode just pulls you in. Thankyou for sharing this vision and project :)
What a thing to brighten my day (dark fantasy pun intended) when I'm home sick I've learned about Sauria in under a day and I'm completely immersed by it, AWESOME job! ❤
I literally was just thinking about you and mentioned you to my art professor as inspiration for this project i’m working on and went to youtube to rewatch some of the older making of videos and saw this YIPPEEEEE
It's these amaxing stories and information that make me hope you'll create more for Sauria, regardless of how long it takes. I likewise hope you'll turn Sauria into a novel or series of novels if you decide not to do it as future short films. It's too good a series to end with just three films.
I love this story and lore so much; I cannot wait for the next episode. I’m hoping we get to see some new clans as well. I also have to say I love the stegosaurid design and coloration; always been one of my favorite dinosaurs. The spine in the last episode tho was amazing! I hope one day you can publish lore and art compendiums of your world and creations; they’re amazing ❤
Ah yes. The chancellor. Who's willing to bet that the spoilers stuff is her sustaining herself via dark magic and that's why she's so down on invading? Or something similar?
Love the worldbuilding and series! Sad we won't see another Sauria episode for awhile while you work on your Dinosauria series again. This would make for an excellent ttrpg or video game! Can't wait to see more eventually!
these are FANTASTIC! when is the next one coming out! I am loving this lore. something new to sink my imagination into. thank you for doing what you do. original content like this is so hard to come by.
Hey, I don't know if you're reading this, but you are one of the many reasons why I draw and sketch today. From when I was a little kid to now being 17, I always loved animated short films. As a kid, watching your Merry Madness and your Autodale series really ignited my passion for illustration, art, and animation. I really just hope to achieve at least half as much as you one day when it comes to making these beautiful works of art via lore vids and short films of my own. Thank you and keep it going.🥰
Groovy of Lore! Thats Explains a Lot! And im Intrigued by the inevitable big ultraviolet confrontation between the of the Blue-Songs Imperialists and those Eldritch Parasite Fallen! Sauria others Realms And More! Also I wonder what the others factions have to say to such Big Meany Birdies! This Is Looking Wild! Yay! 💙🐦🌳
Please keep this going as long as you can and I hope it gets the attention it deserves Cause this world you’ve built is phenomenal Amongst other things it would make a fantastic game
One thing I would love to see or hear from you is how the Blue Song are feeding themselves. In Blood for Blood we saw a bunch of warriors and nobles, but no real workers. Would they be able to sustain themselves entirely on the backs of subjugated mainlanders, or do they rely on a tenuous supply line from their capital which stretches across the sea? Maybe we could get a film through the eyes of a weary “bean counter” managing the pachycephalosaurus people, or a daring commodore struggling to keep fleet cohesion against the wild tides.
Hey dead sound. It’s a bit early when I type this but I just want to say that your work inspires me. Your artwork, your sculpting, your 3d animation. It’s just so good. I’ve been trying to find a similar artstyle. But I can’t quite nail it spot on exactly. I can’t wait for whatever this channel had in store for 2025
Thank you and enjoy your break. I hope to see a return in years to come. Thank you for the extra videos as well, I enjoy these almost as much as the actual productions. You have built a unique and wonderful world.
One video seen and already I'm fully invested in this AMAZING world you've made. A dinosaur era empire universe? That's all i needed to see. Keep it up since this is truly what every young Dino fan imagined as a child.
I've been just now diving into your series as a whole when stumbling across the third episode randomly on my feed. Needless to say I'm hooked!! Thank you for all of your hard work!
I love how the Kindered are basically seen as heroes and meant to keep Sauria wild and free for the other factions. But I wonder if The Fell will become a threat to all of Sauria.
One cool thing you could add if you wanted to is have some of the Bluesong members have different type of antlers Kinda like how the Kindred have 2 different species you could have one Avisaurian with moose antlers, and another with elk or regular deer antlers
Please don't leave us like this... don't make them potential future videos, just future videos. Please, I'm sure I can speak for the entire community when I say we want more, and that this is such an interesting series and your talent is unparalleled. Also, didn't know Captain Ornithicera was such friggin GIga Chad. He's mad smart, a great fighter, and I think he's not done his character arc yet.

The Bluesong are one of my favorite factions in Sauria and I hope to learn more about the ones we haven’t seen yet.
Argeed for they are more realistic than the west of Eden Sauria sapiens
I definitely think that she just wants the power for herself.
Submarine elasmosaur civilization when?
Yes!!!
This deserves to be so much more than a RUclips series the lore is interesting and intriguing, the creature designs are cool, the characters have so much potential for more depth and stories I would love fore this to be so much more because it honestly could be
Hey DeadSound! Just wanted to thank you for all the work you put in for your series. Always makes me happy to see the worlds you build.
I wouldn't say the Kindred don't hurt anyone, remember that before the bluesongs arrived they were mostly bandits and pirates
They are both the bad guys.
Dude I love how you organize your stories, keep up the amazing work as always man!
I love the designs of the blue songs so much
birds with antlers just give off so much fantasy energy to me
It is a shame the captain got controlled by the fell, he seem like a genuinely interesting character
He still has a will of his own. He still had to work with the fell because of the mental torture
Heck yes!!! Was waiting for this since the first episode. With all those turn table models, I sure as hell wouldn’t mind a wargame based around this setting
Ornithocera and Tourox with their immense aura being rivals is absolutely awesome.
Wonderful. You can't make good lore without love. And I hear a lot of both here.
yoooo i got here in 5 min that's my record also i've been waiting for a bluesong lore vid for ages. my prayers have been answered.
Remember here folks, he said "potential future films" so there is hope!
Some time of dinosauria would help him move on
I love this entire setting, and the series has been nothing short of phenomenal! …but, I do really hope we get to hear the full version of the song you use for the intro of these lore videos.
I absolutely adore this series and your art style man. Please keep up the amazing work 👍
You should compile these and publish them in book form. 10/10 would support them.
Great idea show it at a library and see many people into it
A truly incredible and fascinating world you have created....... its amazing how each episode just pulls you in. Thankyou for sharing this vision and project :)
The amount of thought and detail you've put into these really puts your passion on full display.
What a thing to brighten my day (dark fantasy pun intended) when I'm home sick
I've learned about Sauria in under a day and I'm completely immersed by it, AWESOME job! ❤
This is insanely good, wish I found your stuff much sooner
I literally was just thinking about you and mentioned you to my art professor as inspiration for this project i’m working on and went to youtube to rewatch some of the older making of videos and saw this YIPPEEEEE
"potential future films" I AM LISTENING
Glad to see this and sorry it's going fallow -- subbed to Patreon yesterday to give some support. Come on, everybody, let's hurl cash at this guy.
these lore videos are always fascinating!
It's these amaxing stories and information that make me hope you'll create more for Sauria, regardless of how long it takes. I likewise hope you'll turn Sauria into a novel or series of novels if you decide not to do it as future short films. It's too good a series to end with just three films.
I just found this series today, and I AM LOVEING IT!!! If I had the money I wouldn't join your patrion In a heartbeat.
The full episode of the bluesong, avrias, and rise of the decade and i know you still working on it but im really amazed by your arts
FINALY! I've waited for the blue song video for SO LONG!
Love the worldbuilding and series! Sad we won't see another Sauria episode for awhile while you work on your Dinosauria series again. This would make for an excellent ttrpg or video game! Can't wait to see more eventually!
Finally more stuff about my favorite saurian faction! I love their aesthetics and background
I came across this channel only recently, and already I'm falling in love with the work. I want to know everything there is to know about this world.
these are FANTASTIC! when is the next one coming out!
Wow I've never become a fan of something so fast. Love your work, holy damn dude 💚💚💚
Yay! 💙🐦🌳
The Chancellor's eyes are a big give away. Don't think we didn't notice.
Absolutely loving it. Great job and keep up the amazing work
Please keep this going as long as you can and I hope it gets the attention it deserves
Cause this world you’ve built is phenomenal
Amongst other things it would make a fantastic game
Absolutely loving these videos
Imagine if David and Glitch teamed up, I'd love to see what you'd do with the amount of funding a studio like Glitch could provide.
I could listen to you talk about your world for hours.
I do want to see more of the Captain, he seems so... in depth and awesome, one of many characters to follow.
This setting is so well done. It could make a cool wargame
The ForeFathers pass me a vibe of the "Draugr's of Skyrim", so cool, your work is going so great❤
One thing I would love to see or hear from you is how the Blue Song are feeding themselves.
Doing amazing can't wait to see more videos
One video seen and already I'm fully invested in this AMAZING world you've made. A dinosaur era empire universe? That's all i needed to see. Keep it up since this is truly what every young Dino fan imagined as a child.
My commute to work this morning has been made 200% better!
Now this makes me want a souls like game in the world of Sauria
This is better than any major streaming series I've watched this year, I'm completely in love ❤
Your story amazed me when I first it, don’t stop your amazing work!
One cool thing you could add if you wanted to is have some of the Bluesong members have different type of antlers
Kinda like how the Kindred have 2 different species you could have one Avisaurian with moose antlers, and another with elk or regular deer antlers
I really can't wait to see more from them
Oh my god now i cant wait for more. But ofcource take your break. U deserve it.
Love and support from Finland
Please make more episodes of sauria! You don’t understand, I NEED this to continue to at most 10-15 episodes!
1 suggestion, arm the blue song with ranged weapons like bows and crossbows
Please don't leave us like this... don't make them potential future videos, just future videos. Please, I'm sure I can speak for the entire community when I say we want more, and that this is such an interesting series and your talent is unparalleled. Also, didn't know Captain Ornithicera was such friggin GIga Chad. He's mad smart, a great fighter, and I think he's not done his character arc yet.
