That is because our basis for language works on the assumption of individuality, so metaphysics becomes extremely challenging to articulate, especially for people without meditative/psychedelic experiences. At a certain point, it is pretty much impossible to come to a conclusion because it all depends on the specific axioms you accept.

(1) Basically, Hinduism is firstly not a religion, it's a way of living life to achieve the supreme power or energy that created us and the whole universe.
(2) We Hindus believe in one God which is a form of energy and has no shape or gender..

What is great of Indonesia is people followed the culture but changed religion, it happened due to different reasons ofcourse like invasions , proximity and expansion ist ideas which monotheistic religious follow. Indonesia, once upon a time a strongly Hindu country for more than 1500 years turned to islam a couple of hundred or so years ago. You can see Hindu temples everywhere in Indonesia. Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi and ofcourse Bali which still is Hindu is a mirror to Indonesia's past. UNESCO listed Prambanan Shiva temple is a large world heritage site in Java - the biggest Hindu monument in south east asia. Angkor Wat in Cambodia is bigger than Prambanan but it has been converted Hindu to Buddhist temple although the temple does not look anything like Buddhist at all. Anyway Hindu and Buddhist faiths have a lot of things in common and both these religions thrived in Indonesia for over a thousand years until islam took over the islands and now we have the same Indonesia with the world's largest muslim population. Very strange history. Same with Malaysia.

Corrections :
1. 4:11 - Different Gods and Goddesses are not "necessarily" due to 'different' cultures. Whole subcontinent had similar culture and tradition then back into the B.C.Es and everyone spoke Sanskritam and Tamizh in the South where Maharishi Agastya resided. All Gods and Goddesses were basically the same called by different names as per the devotees' experience or wishes. So it was completely personal experience and devotion. That's why each Goddess or God may have a million names.
2. 4:49 - Sanatana Dharma (Everlasting Duty a.k.a 'Hinduism') is not a 'religion' (fixed beliefs and strict guidelines). Hence we do not have the concept of "tolerance" itself. Everybody is already considered One, hence no partiality or difference ever rises in the mind of people who are Sanatanis. The concept of "tolerance" is Abrahamic because in Near East 'religions', each one is considered superior to the other. No one cares whether you follow Jesus, Allah or something else all considered as Universe. Then no Difference !
3. 6:42 - Again, whatever he said is from a western viewpoint. Sanatana Dharma is "Infinite" and being no 'religion' there is nothing 'fixed'. It is 'humanism' (in western terms) with complete knowledge on the living plane and paraphysical realities. We don't have "belief". It's either you "know/ realize" (realization) or "don't know/ not realized yet/ignoramus/ignorant".
So that's basically all anyone can tell you about Sanatana Dharma. The texts only advice which way if you lead life you can be successful and positive and lead a meaningful life. Rest are all explanations which will cross your brain horizon and need a properly trained "Guru" or Teacher to guide you on basis of the texts. Sanatana Dharma is basically : "Natural Law" - It doesn't follow human understanding at all. If you read the texts you will find everything written to be in strict accordance with Nature. Hence the one who just follow Nature with or without adhering some path is always a Sanaatani. Hence the Entire world is One Family concept in Dharma. Hoping this is understandable. No better way to put it.
Hindu religion is based on science mostly. Three main Gods are Shiva, Brahma, Vishnu are considered as Electron, Photon and Neutron. We consider these three as part of one particle and everything in the universe is made from same particles. This is why we believe that Gods resides every being. After death body realeases energy and forms a new being. Ultimate goal of Hinduism is to be free from that cycle of energy being restored in different being and gain Moksh.
It goes something like there is one supreme being who is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient who is present in all living and non-living and even in the tiniest atom. He manifested this universe, the earth, the sun etc. etc. In short he is not just within us but also everywhere. A person first begins loving any god of his/her choice. This is to initiate a bond a love with the god. If that bond becomes inseparable and his/her yearning to attain the god becomes very strong, the god himself shows him/her the ultimate TRUTH. Others who have just paid obeisances and worshiped the different gods (Vishnu, Shiva and Parvati many worship these gods or their incarnations like Krishna, Ram or like Ganesha is Shiva's son) and have become staunch devotees started to argue upon the powers and supremacy of their respective god. This created different groups. But now things have changed. No one fights in the name of god. Though many still choose to remain in the sect created like Vaishnavism, Shaivism. Current generation have changed and started adopting Smartism. So one god or the ultimate being could only be realized by great ascetics.

It's not actually true that Hindu have millions of Gods. There was a grammar mistake done by ENGLISH SCHOLARS while studying the Sanatana Dharma. They had misinterpreted the Sanskrit word " koti" to crore but real meaning of koti is "types" . So that means there are actually 33 koti Gods meant 33 different type of Gods .
It is not 300 million; it is 33 categories of deities. GOD is only ONE.
Only Hinduism is democratic bcz one can worship a god of his r her own choice
