- STRAP INFO The strap size on this watch is 20mm but flares to 22mm past the lug. If you want a replacement strap buy a 20mm! This strap attaches to a 20mm, wears as a 22mm, and tapers down to 17mm.
At this point, I guess I'm a former diver (Rescue Diver, Divemaster, etc.). I still prefer dive watches. I've previously been a die hard Seiko fan. The accuracy on Seiko automatics leaves A LOT to be desired. I've changed to Citizen Eco-drives and they are the most accurate watches I've owned. I put a NATO strap on it and never looked back.
Nice to see a diver review a diver's watch, and it's a watch they actually wear.
I own a lot of watches, including a few divers. My daily driver is this watch ( blue dial). I live in, and am a native of, South Florida. I spend a lot of time in the ocean ( paddle boarding, snorkeling, surfing and yes....diving). I love this watch for so many reasons:
1.Accuracy. It loses TWO seconds per MONTH.
2. Lume. It's an absolute torch. And it blue lume, which I love.
3. Build quality. This thing is a tank.
4. Looks. Not a bad looking watch at all.
5. Value. You get a whole lot of watch for around two hundred dollars.
Absolute masterpiece of a watch. Beautifully made, attractive and extremely accurate. My Promaster Marine is a joy to wear with an accuracy of 3 seconds a month !
I scored this for $121 on Amazon black Friday 2022! Thrilled.
$89 in 2019😁
also love it
The "N.D. Limits" printing on the watch band will come off if you use rubbing alcohol and a Q-Tip. I've removed the "N.D. Limits" printing on both the black and blue models. It does not damage the rubber. The watch metal lug width is 20mm. You appear to have measured the flare of the band. If you buy replacement bands, it is 20mm. Other than that, good review👍
Great info, thanks,, 👍
Had my BNO 150 for almost 4 months.
I switched out the rubber/neoprene/plastic band for a stainless bracelet.
Bracelets specifically made for this model, 150 & 151 can be bought at Long Island Watch.
I got the BRAC35 (oyster) style and it matches up perfectly.
It really dresses up the watch making it wearable for almost any occasion and ITS WAY MORE COMFORTABLE.
Love the watch even more now.
Owned one. Loved it for functionality, readability, dependability: awesome tool- and leisure watch! Size and style a bit awkward for a true daily wearer. The bezel jammed on mine after two years for no apparent reason (worn twice under the shower). Back to the modest automatic NY0040 I have been wearing for decades and very happy.
Oh, and a perfect utility watch like this just has to be solar quartz.
Still more: The latest Promasters come without the table printed on the strap which should include the BN0150.
That’s awesome! Sorry to hear about your watches bezel jamming though, that’s never a good time.
@@StevesAdventure Amazon took it back without questions asked (didn’t want possible fuzz with Citizen).
Happened to me. Put it in water. It freed up. Since then I spin it 3 times in the shower. No problems. Great watch!
@@mgtowlevel5293 So did I, only worked once.
I really like Seiko for value, but honestly, I think Citizen is the best overall value of any watch. And I like Citizen designs slightly better than Seiko's. Nice video!
I have this one on the bracelet (model bn0150-61e) and I freaking love it. There is an excellent divers extension on it. Its a little heavy around 155g but I got used to it quickly. Picked it up from Amazon around $250.
That’s awesome a bracelet version would be fantastic!
@@StevesAdventure The Japanese stainless bracelet transforms the watch . With the bracelet, one of the nicest dive watches in my collection.
Amazing watch have had it for a few months, cost $150 now on amazon black Friday deal, so now's the perfect time to get it!
Nice!
I got one for $121 on black Friday 2022. Thrilled
@@timsimmons9995 10/10 buy!
I liked my 0150 some much, I bought the 0151 (blue dial) as well. I wear that on a bracelet.
That sounds like a really good looking combo!
I managed to snag a minty pre owned blue one yesterday.
No scratches on bezel or glass and for £70
I like the small scuba tank, and the watch of course :-) Mine is a titanium pro-master diver but didn't come with the tank
The rubber strap: A Q-Tip and store bought rubbing alcohol will remove the N.D. limit text. It does not hurt the rubber.
Really the only diver you will ever need... No messing with services and battery changes .. stick it on a perlon looks class and dries fast. Eulit perlon way to go not cheapo one and still fits over a wetsuit.
Stephen excellent video. Lume question. How long do you charge up the lume before you dive? How long does it normally last? Love the Barton straps also!
Good heads up on the Barton straps,, 👍👍👍also,, I think the numbers printed on the strap make it look like a kids watch,, 🤣,, if I get one, I'll be trying to remove the printing straight away,,
great video btw..
Great review 👍
I like it! Just purchased one on Amazon for $244.
Great watch have four of them.
Beginner? More of an end watch for me. There comes a time in life you want a hassle free watch. That watch used to be Seiko. Now it's Citizen or Casio.
This is a very interesting comment to me.
It's the same outlook I myself seemed to have taken.
At 62 years old I just ordered the promaster about 3 days ago, said to myself.... it'll be the last watch I buy.
Please, what do you think of the silicone bracelet for the watch? Did you experience any complaint or corrosion? Is the silicone bracelet as practical and can handle the daily lifestyle as the metal bracelet?
love mine
I have the earlier generation pro master eco drive dive watch Ive had it over 10 years , it has green lume, the screw down crown and date at 3 o'clock , and has a one piece body with a solid back .... the thread has gone on the screw down crown so I cant seal it anymore and Citizen has told me to repair it would be expensive because it has to be accessed through the face ... So my daughter bought me the Automatic Pro Master Diver for christmas last year and my Old Promaster has become my "beater" watch
Hopefully it serves you just as well as a beater watch!
@@StevesAdventure its my daily daytime wear, its the blue sunburst face that I've liked since I saw it in 1997, I've done 2 dives with it ..and I'm very happy with it
@@danewood2309 that blue sunburst is gorgeous good choice
I've got the same one 04h .... Yep my crown stripped early on Citizen replaced case and even sent it back - old case with bezel under warranty think X6 yes warranty in the UK ... I really like it though ... The Royal Navy use them I believe ... No problems with mine since repair the screw in crown though very small fiddly and thread very short.. Better option is the Excalibur that's nickname it has orange min hand .. mine came with a steel bracelet with diver extension very good quality and the crown faultlessly smooth.
Can anyone tell me how to change the time on it
Make a 40-42mm eco bishes thanks
This is one of my favorite watches. My only issue is the 20mm lug width. Normally on a watch this size you have 22-24mm lugs.
I tend to agree with you there I do usually like larger width lugs, but I do think that the watch is so thin and light (due to being quartz, yay quartz!) that it is not really noticeable that the strap is smaller when you are wearing the watch.
@@StevesAdventure Yes. I have a 24mm band on mine. I trimmed it down so it fits on the 20mm lugs and flares out on either side. Each side flares out to the outside edge of the lugs and it looks amazing.
@@TT-ch2pz that’s awesome!
So what brought me here is the fact that i just ordered this model today.
That’s awesome congrats!
Is the lack of a sapphire crystal a deal breaker?
Apparently sapphire is more brittle, making it less appropriate for diving applications.
No.
It's "No decompression limits" not "Navy dive limits".
Between this watch and the phoibos leviathan or wave master? Witch ones better?
Phoibos 'dive' watches are not iso 6425 certified. ie they are not actually dive watches at all.
@Nick-uk9wl fair enough but how many people that are buying dive watches actually scuba dive? Most id be doing is snorkeling with it..
@@TheMarky26 Good point. I'd still recommend an Eco drive diver tho. Even without a sapphire crystal they're still ridiculously durable, way more accurate than anyone really needs, and you simply won't get anything nearly as good for the same money. Imho.😆Shop around and you'll see literally dozens of options. 👍🏻
I'm an Automatic Seiko guy,and I want one.
I bought an auto versionfrom a pawn shop in Enterprise,AL for 92,and got a 5$ discount. No box,no papers.
Only drawback is not many colorways.
I dont know what Citizen was trying to do with the dial, but they made one look like a st8 up booty hole.
I don't want that one.
Screw down crown?
yes
What is the role of the bezel ?
Dive timer
Is there a bracelet for this one?
There is not a citizen bracelet specifically for it but there are tons of aftermarket options! If you do go for aftermarket just make sure that the model number BN0151-09L is listed as compatible.
There are Citizen bracelets which will fit this watch... for 150USD. I have mine on an after-market bracelet. Looks AWESOME on these.
Yes the same model is available with a good bracelet but it's more rare.
Практичность, это хорошо. Но, дизайн - шайба. Тем, кто не ныряет часто, они, наверное, не понравятся
You claim to be a diver yet have no idea what NDL is.
Hands are to small
Nope.
@@folksurvival Yep
@@ivanmirones9220 Nope, look again. They're large hands but in proportion to the rest of the watch.
