    I cared for my mother for over seven years and when time allowed I would play classical music and enjoy quality time next to my mum, I always felt my mothers aura, she was caring, warm and a joy to be around. Listening to this just brings me to tears. I always loved this piece but as we often listened to Khatia play other works it makes it all the more special. They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul.... Khatia's playing is the window to her soul. Utterly beautiful, although mum passed ten months ago I feel her presence listening to this.

      What is wrong with listeners who jump up on the last note and shout "Bravo"?
      I would ban them all.
      I know of only two conductors who call for up to half a minute of silence at the end of a symphony, holding their arms in an "active" position, absorbed in the reverberations and thus also giving the listener time to return to reality.
      One of these is Valerie Gergiev, for example in Tchaikovsky's Pathetique.

    I once had a debate with a friend whose piano teacher had (allegedly) studied with Debussy. According to this teacher, Debussy insisted that Claire de Lune must be played in strict adherence to the time signature/meter. Well, said I, that's fine if you want sound like a mechanical reproduction. But if you want to sound like a human being with an iota of emotion, you will play it as the music moves you. Now THIS was...Human! Thank you so very much for daring to be fully human in your expression of this master piece.

      I don’t think there’s a single rendition of this piece by a professional, well-renowned pianist where it is not played with rubato and feeling. I defy that piano teacher, or anyone, find one.

    • @user-cy9vd7rl4h
      @user-cy9vd7rl4h 25 дней назад +1

      Your friend's piano teacher is full of shit. He annotated rubato on the sheet music and his own version recorded on piano roll is significantly faster throughout than any version you'll find today. So if intent was really "strict adherence" then everybody isn't mirroring the composer and it's being played "wrong" anyway.

    To be playing in that enormous room, and everyone in it dead silent listening to you...what a delicious feeling that must be.
    Unless you've been eating cabbage all day - then it's probably a nightmare.

    Superb interpretation. When an artist is able to silence the mind and to transpose de soul to another silence dimension, we are standing in front of a genius. You seemed not real talking about the soul. Respect!

    El tiempo es a veces tan lento que la tensión entre dos notas se vuelve casi infinita. Katia maneja esto de manera magistral, el pianissimo es tan delicado , tan exacto. Realmente una excelente interpretación. Los cof, cof, pues son parte de todos los conciertos en vivo, que se le va a hacer.
