I agree, I watched this whole anime before played the game. The game's storytelling was way better than the anime. The animation of the anime sucked too.
Even more fitting for this trailer is how most of the character's regular voice actors aren't here. Vyers ain't Grant George, Etna ain't Michelle Ruff, and Captain Gordon sure ain't Michael McConnohie.

They are still available at NIS America's Rosenqueen store and on Amazon. What the original distributors like NIS have left in stock, they are practically giving away. So go to Rosenqueen first before you pay premium price for rare items that are quite as rare as you think they are. I know I paid over $35 for each volume when I imported the anime over a year ago. But the price went down, then began skyrocketting as it became harder to get. It's still NOT hard to get for around $30 a volume now.
NIS has it hard with these sort of things. I mean, their sales of disgaea (OK, disgaea 1 being pretty great....) had about 100.000 sales, but Disgaea 2 now on Steam: 26,147 ± 4,768. That's not really much, you know? Even with more earlier sales, it's very expensive to make an anime... let alone an English dub of it... to get more fans. It's expensive.

Basically a huge troll trailers like the series itself. I love disgaea for it.
People shit on the anime but honestly..... I’m happy it didn’t follow the game. It would’ve been boring to just watch the same thing again and unfair to those responsible for the game version. Besides comparisons are a waste of time this should be treated as its own thing like some alternate timeline sort of thing
Just curious...I grew up with Disgaea back in my middle school days in 2008. Played Disgaea 2-6 along with D2 and the mobile game. But did NIS ever made anymore anime adaptions of the other Disgaea games?

even thou the anime was as good as the game, I still like the series. but with Disgaea 5 and Disgaea 2 (at the time I am typing this) is soon to be on PC, they could make a reboot of the anime
