I thought this was just going to be a port of the PSP version, but it looks like they updated everything and even brought the newer sprites in. The female Brawlers are even the updated ones from Disgaea 3 onward.
For everyone thinking between Disgaia 1 or 5, go with 5. It comes with a TON more characters. Including Etna, Flonne and Laharl from D1 and every character from every other Disgaia game. The gameplay is exactly the same but with improved mechanics and the Story and characters even tough not as good as D1 are really quirky and fun. My fav is the Curry eating rabbit girl Usalia. The main character is meh but I like Seraphina a lot, she's your typical spoiled princess but her Pocket Netherworld is super cool.
This may be a weird place to ask this but does any one know how to unlock pleinair in this version and what rank you have to be to get the bill to unlock asagi
I put a lot of hours into this on my psp, then D3 on vita followed by D4, again on vita. I also have D5 on the Ps4. So what I really want is a D2 remaster.
Nippon Ichi is a great company, many of their games being on the Exclusive to the PlayStation 2, they should get more like Alchemists of Alrevis, or La Pucelle or even a port of the wii version of Phantom Brave
because d2 and 4 weren't as popular, you can usually tell based on how many ports a nis game has just how well it did overall, 5 did surprisingly well so it's getting more ports, 2 was well received so it got a steam and multiple console ports, and 1 is the one almost everyone sais it's the best, so obviously it gets the most ports, along with having cameos in every game.
My favorite Disgaea Game and Etna is my most beloved Demon in the series. I have first watch the Anime after that buyer and play this Game on DS. Now I have Remasted on Switch 🤒 So much humor and grind fun.

Yes. This game has some outdated mechanics that got fixed over the subsequent games (like healers needing to kill to get exp) but the core gameplay has always been a great tactical RPG. 5 has the most polished gameplay (and is also on the switch at a cheaper price) but if you start there you may find this game a bit grindy and slow by comparison.
I think I’ll play 5 first before revisiting 1 again. 1 has been re-released so many times I’ve become way too familiar with the stories and characters. Time to try something new first before meeting up with Laharl, Etna, Flonne and Mid-Boss again.
I tried playing the Disgaea 5 demo and felt like I was having a mental breakdown. So very strange, and it stuck me in a hub full of talking penguins with no apparent way to do a battle.
All of the disgaea games have a similar hub. They're very story heavy so if you follow the chains of dialogue it'll teach you how to go out into the field to fight.
