  • Sharing my roses and perennials during the hot summer days in August. A tour around my garden after a heavy rain and a very hot day. I would say the garden has slowly work it's way to adapt the climate change weather. With the extreme heat, I water my garden two times a week and used my mowed grass as mulch to the garden beds. The first flush of roses in June was abundant and remarkable but as soon as the temperature climbed up, roses productivity is not at its' best that's why it is advisable to have perennials as companion plants, to provide the flow of variety of colour and forms in the garden.

Your garden is looking lovely Gemma. It was interesting to hear about your gardening journey. I too find my garden a great stress reliever and I find that the time just flies when I'm in it. I often say I'll just do some deadheading for ten minutes which then leads to other jobs and before I know it, several hours have gone by. It's been hard work this year as we've had so much rain and I'm constantly tidying the petunias. I had a blank canvas when I moved in as the house was brand new and the one thing I regret is I've planted some shrubs too near the fence panels. I didn't allow for growth! I see people moving their shrubs but I don't seem to have that strength. Your roses are giving you some wonderful blooms for their second flush. Beautiful.

Hello Wendy! That’s exactly what I’m doing in the garden, just like you, I‘m often too submerged in my work and non stop changing the design. Thanks for your comment and I do hope you‘ll find some time to rest and enjoy some drinks in your garden.☕️🍷

Hi Gemma, your garden is looking beautiful, so colourful and with many interesting plants and shrubs too. Always something interesting to look at, I love that. We have had so much rain this year, some things love it and some not so much but that's gardening isn't it always some challenges :) Enjoy your lovely garden, take care.

Thanks Linda! It is true what you said about gardening, I have this feeling the roses were kind of suffocated last late spring with too much water and now dehydrated in high summer, small flowers and already with blackspots on their leaves. But I‘m sure glorious days will come again as soon as the temperature will drop a little. Cheers!🥂

Thanks Peter! My garden is non stop evolving, if I don’t see colours especially now with the heat, I‘m always tempted to add some more perennials.🌹

Great video, I enjoyed it very much . I think( or guess) your rose is Adorable Parfuma / Carmen Wurth from Kordes. I’ve only had this rose a year and flowers look like yours. As you know, I love the Parfuma collection❤

Hi Gemma hope your well. I haven’t got this rose but I tend to agree with Lin here. Certainly looks like it and I believe you purchased this rose? Roses are still doing very well Gemma :)

Good Morning Lin! Thanks for your comment!I bought Carmen Würth last May as bare-root and planted in the new bed. I traced my invoices of purchased roses, I bought 'Lavender Ice'and got a gift of Blue Parfum from Rosen Tantau. I also bought 'Blue Mamy' from rare roses on line. This happens when you keep on transferring the roses or you really don’t mark them with their names. I will make a map of my garden and try to identify each plant. Have a lovely day!😍🐝

@@Jay_JayHello Jay Jay! Thanks for the comment! I‘m not really well now, I got heavy head ache after late nights drinking German beer 🍺 and our traditional Kirchweih celebration.😅
