Summer 2013. You just had to be there.
Fr
Was just telling my old mad that! Good times!
I met a girl and had the funnest times ever. You had to be there
I was playing travel ball for a team in LA during this week and during practice every night we’d all talk about how insane bro was
What a time
What a time
4 home runs 10 Runs Batted In 2 Great Throws in a week. For a rookie that's amazing
You got it wrong. That's great for any MLB player.
+Funny Moments and Videos cough cough he said rookie, detective.
+Suany Mateo he said rookie yes but he is right that's great for any mlb player not just a rookie
Not to mention a grand slam
it's gotta be one of the top 1st week (or even month) debuts in mlb history
I have no idea why people dislike Vin Scully. He's a legend. He is by far my favorite announcer because of the fact that he's not loud and annoying. But at the sametime he shows a good amount of emotion in clutch situations of a game. And he gives a vivid image of what's happening.
Baseball Fanatic. His way of commentating a game has been the same since like the 60's. Nothing wrong with that, I like it. but some people might not prefer an old school announcer like Scully. They prefer Joe buck and other commentators.
Anyone who dislike Scully is a fucking twat.
I loved watching games Scully called. In an interview he said he just calls the play and shuts up and lets the crowd speak or something along those lines. A good roar of a crowd especially in the postseason gives me chills so I hate Joe Buck being an ass and screaming over it.
HE is the GOAT of Base Announcing.. A TRUE LEGEND. I always love and enjoy watching his style of his commentating.
Baseball Fanatic anyone who dislike Vin Scully is a Joe Buck fan
Even if you aren't a Dodgers Fan, you have to admit that he had an insane first week, that probably got the Dodgers into the playoffs
He turned the dodgers season around. I remember being in Palm Springs and people who obviously didn’t care about baseball stopped to watch him bat. They went 42-8 after his call up.
@Boe O He was the catalyst for the past 8 years.
We went 42-8 in that run
I still miss him
I still remember when Puig tossed me a ball during spring training, waved hi during a game, and waved again during a different game. I loved the dodgers so much more because of his love for the fans and the game. He will always be a dodger! I’ll always be a fan of Puig. #PuigYourFriend 😢
Lulu Rose This aged well
GusTheBus09 So did your Mom
@@DR-pt2qi Funny
@@TUFF-Flicks its hilarious
Most insane debut ever. Everyone was talking about him. You’d watch every game just to see what he would do that night. Not that I expected him to keep that pace up, no one could. Still its crazy to think he’s already out of the league. Memorable career for sure though.
His attitude sadly ... but me I liked the fiery and attitude in him ... backed up his teammates didn't take bs ... played his heart out no doubt .
That was one of the best weeks of my life, watching him play made me love baseball in a whole new way.
Everyone hating on the great Vin Scully need to know that baseball is his life he loves the game and the game loves him he may not jump out of his chair screaming but he lets you hear the crowd noise and the players he lets you enjoy what the great game of baseball is really about. Vin Scully is the greatest announcer to ever live and Frankly it isnt even an arguement
My boy Dave Niehaus was pretty special
I remember being amazed by this dude. I was 15 years old at the time and playing Center field for my high school. Added a lot of motivation to my workouts watching this dude play.
In hindsight he was the most important dodger of the past decade. People forget the dodgers were close to blowing up the nucleus of the team until he came up. He literally altered an entire teams trajectory with how he played in June 2013
Pepperidge farms remembers
Puig we love you, you once threw my young daughter and I a foul ball during a spring training game. I will never forget how excited she was, she didn't stop smiling for a week. Viva Cuba, Viva Puig!
She just told us actually lol that’s pretty neat
you know if scully says he "doesn't believe it" when he's seen it all you're doing unbelievable
Look how big he is now compared to then. He still a beast
That's what I was thinking
+Carter Chandler yo I watch your vids
The roar of the crowd is so amazing
+Antonio DelQuan That's what an almost always 45,000+ crowd in the biggest stadium in the league gets you
Only at Dodger stadium. Most fans every year
I was dreaming to think that they would've kept him in that uniform forever, I'm gonna miss the hell outta him.
I'm not even a Dodgers fan, yet I freaking love this video every time I see it. Regardless of what you think of Puig, this stretch was badass.
For people who call Puig a show boat, look at him sprint out of his stance after every hit. He had to slow down so he wouldn't pass up Hanley on one of 'em.
Players are expected to sprint out of their stances on base hits, but not no-doubt homers. If you're using a base hit from Puig as an example, that makes no sense. Of course he's gonna sprint after a base hit
Keenan Ahmad he sprints on ground balls. He has so many infiels singles. I'm tired of watching players jog to first base just because they hit an infield ground ball. Puig may not make the smartest plays, but he hustles
+Keenan Ahmad really? I don't see Bryce eager to start running to first base.
+Gaddi Moreno so true
Jonathan Ramirez of course not kids will be kids
VINCE SCULLY is a LEGEND!! if you think he is boring then you really haven't heard him call a game... while other play by play guys fill your airwaves with dead space VIN is busy giving you an insight into the player who is up to bat... he has millions and millions of stories to tell all while calling a game... i have not heard anyone else do that till this day #GODODGERS
Not a dodgers fan, but I have watched this video a million times.
For Vin Scully to say I don't Believe It will be the best compliment Puig will ever receive because Vin Scully has seen it all. Puig will be back with a vengeance no question in the playoffs
+Philip Jams Well not the playoffs but next year hopefully.
He lit the baseball world on fire this week. It was such a pleasure to watch live !
Gonna miss you in Dodger Blue 😢😢😢
Me too
Hey atleast he spent his career with us 🤷 had so much more to him but didn't reach his full potential unfortunately
Hopefully he signs with somebody then has a great season and then comes back here
My dad took me to the game where Puig hit his two first homers. His career might not have worked out as many would have hoped, but he’ll always be one of my personal favorite Dodgers of all time for the memories he gave me.💙
Vin Scully is a Legend!
Puig got the dodgers in the post season great player
it's hard to watch this and keep in mind this all happened within the guys FIRST WEEK in the majors... easily one of the best debut weeks and even months of ALL TIME
I'll always remember Puig
Everybody! Vin Scully has been calling games since the time of Jackie Robinson! Do you even know who he is? I'm guessing you guys have never seen a Dodger game before. He is a legend. Like you can even do that. He called Kirk Gibson, and many football and baseball games. He's not just like another announcer.
vin scully one of best announcers in sports history
There is a reason why there is an award named after him!
Jordan Alberto exactly
Dodger baseball hasn’t been the same since he retired
shut the fuck up jordan alberto you whiny little drama queen wimp................
i miss this era
Rest Peacefully Legend 💙
This opening week is by far one of the best I've ever seen.....
I hope he continues on his path of success this year. He has started off hot, barring injuries he will be elite this year. LA LOVES PUIG.
Still gives me chills!
It’s disheartening to see that Puig did not continue to flourish into one of the greats. That first season, he displayed all the makings of a player destined for a remarkable carrier as a MLB player.
he lacked the motivation and/or the work ethic. He could have been an all time great.
The motivation was there. However telling a 23 YO kid to slow it down, this is how we do it, let's play smart can hurt his mindset on the gm. He played freely but it was with good intentions. U can see the hustle every time he hit a hr how he round home plate in secs. While everyone is lolly gagging. He made baseball fun at a time we had highest payroll & losing b4 he showed up.
Puig reminds me of a video game! Unbelieveable!
GO DODGERS!
MVPUIG
i'll never forget this stretch of baseball, watched the whole thing with my dad. great memories, nothin but love for the 2013 squad
Anyone else look for Bobby Crosby in the left field bleachers?
me
think I saw him
I looked
Me
Me I love dodger films
Also check out King Gryph
Watching this video on the day he is traded to the Reds.......damn how time flies
You can see Bobby Crosby around 3:31, look at the 375, and then after one person, he is in the blue shirt
+FLANY SINGS If you look closly to the 375 mark on the stairs you can see him recording in the black shirt and khakis at 1:07
+MrTedMcForehead Yeah it did, look closer.
He is actually respectful and doesn’t throw his bat 100 ft in the air like normally does
I remember seeing his first throw on live tv it was special that night
2:38. What a catch by the fan!! That’s one he’ll remember forever.
This was such an amazing week or so to watch the Dodgers, brilliant.
Those bat flips were so pure. Puigmania was a blast!
i will remember that week, that month ever and still hoping for more. viva puig
THAT'S MY BOY!
This is why I love baseball. I'm a mets fan but watching this makes you appreciate talent and grace the game of baseball.
The memories :(
Dopest month of the year for a Dodger fan. It was truly the most exciting year I can remember.
i hope he has a long career look forward to seeing this kid play ball !!!!!!!!
Talk about a freak of nature
This moment was the catalyst for what would become the Dodgers of the 2010s-20s
He saved Mattingly's job that week.
Man puig was so much fun to watch that year. He literally brought life into that dodger team. His presence reminds me of when the dodgers traded for manny that summer
Dang this kid as a great future ahead of him and he's a bleed dodger blue and white
My fav baseball hitter of all time... Yasiel.
This was a great time to be a sports fan in general
I remember being at his debut man that crowd was electric!! Dodger fans miss you Puig!
Yasiel Puig God bless you! You are a great player!!!
4:35 That one guy in the stands bowing to Puig
"Viva Puig!"
totally awesome that Vin Scully's on the call, one of a kind, once in a lifetime talent, total magic on the mic
this video seriously gives me the chills!!
I could watch this over and over.
He wasn't just the talk of the league at the time, but in all of sports...He was getting LeBron James type publicity at one point.
Vin scully we love u 😔❤️
scully knows when to talk and when not to and exactly what to say. not to mention the classic voice. hes a legend
And a high fly ball … just legendary
your watching kbo
If only he was still this good.....
He was injured bro Didn't play enough games not even half
JosueAllstarMusic damn really? thanks bro i never knew that
+LoRd Devil bro pls
He is now
LoRd Devil he is good
Gonna miss you Puig, You gave Dodgers a chance to win
puig is a beast
Love you Puig baby!! Rooting for you from afar my love!! No longer a Dodger fan after they stabbed him in the back!! Live in L.A. but I root for Cincy especially my Wildhorse!!!!
There was so much hope in what we saw that year from Yasi, goddamn what could’ve been.
Can’t blame a man though, who goes from having holes in his zapatos to being a big star in a city like LA.
Could’ve been that electric for at least 10
years.
He was lucky to have it called by an all time frat
i live in chattanooga TN and puig played miner league baseball for the chattanooga lookouts i saw his last miner league game before he went to LA
Favorite MLB player 🤘🏾💯
He got the home run cycle in his first major league week
Puig is a beast!
Remember that when Puig joined the Dodgers they were in last place...
Www
and remember how they're in 1st place now?
jts024 And remember when they've been knocked out of the playoffs year after year
it's nice seeing a fellow Cuban having so much success.
Glad to see he actually hustles around the bases after homeruns
All this and now look at him, I never new how good he was.😔
Hes still good better than players the dodgers have now hes more than capable of still playing in the mlb
I watched this guy in Chattanooga (My home town) he was frieking amazing
Yasiel puig deserves to be an All Star
El mejor de los mejores en las MLB,, bendiciones para ud , Yasiel Puig,, sigue asi .Dios te ayude siempre de Cuba, como yo tambien soy de la Habana,, 8;16 PM, 12/17/2018/,Raleigh,, NC.
I was there the night he hit the two homers against the Padres in his second game in the bigs...Dodger Stadium was electric.
Angel Fan here... I hate the Dodgers and their fans, but Puig is probably the best player to hit the MLB in 10 years or more. It's pretty awesome to watch this dude play.
He's golden
I love puig :)
The wild horse will miss you Vince. We will miss you!
Dang look at the audience! such a difference from 2013 to 2017-2019
God dam i miss puig man
I played high school baseball at the time. I remember me and all my teammates thought he was about to be the best player of all time.
Scully: "And it's 8-6 dodgers can you believe it?" Me: no I can't because it's 9-6!
+Alex 24 If Vin Scully says it's 8-6, it's 8-6.
+nuni121 wtf? I meant that he made a mistake cuz the score was 9-6 but he said it was 8-6... And learn how to spell!
Alex 24 If Vin Scully says it's 8-6, it's 8-6.
man i remember watching the game when vin scully said 8-6 jajaja it was funny man
+Brian Stuart go to 1:50 and watch it till 2:10
Of all the great players and people who have ever been a part of the Dodgers organization, Vin Scully is by far my favorite. Easily, the greatest announcer I've ever heard.
On the note of Puig, I really wish he could've sustained that level of skill. He might've been even more unstoppable then Trout. Might've.
My favorite player
Viva Puig!
this guy is great for the sport.
this is why i love baseball
He is at 1:08 in the black shirt with the silver camera over 375
Dodgerfilms is
omg I saw that too wooooooooooo
Where?
I miss this team, so so much. 💔 so many players left..
A legend was born that week ''the week of Puig''
