Nice job extending the life of a favorite device. The tips on the battery replacement with soldering delicate components are applicable to many devices. And, had you bought a new shaver, I bet you would not get a FREE COASTER! Thanks, David.

Can the original Ni-Cd batteries be replaced with Ni-Mh batteries ???

I'm not really sure. I've replaced rechargeable phone Ni-Cd batteries with Ni-Mh with OK results. I think the Ni-Mh batteries like a little different charging profile than Ni-Cd; but I guess they would probably work OK.

I have a Norelco AT811/41TT. Where do I get the battery? I have a very bad impression of Norelco now that I talked to them and got nowhere about sending in my shaver to have them fix it. I had to threaten to send a letter to the corporate office, with the chat transcript included, which was very unflattering to the company, before I was finally offered a new shaver. I was left with this strange feeling though; like I still want to unlock this mystery about how to replace the battery and get this thing working again.

I just did a Google search and found several links. Here is one; I have no idea if they are any good: www.cutratebatteries.com/products/philips-norelco-at811-replacement-battery?variant=46388682424551&sem_account_id=1343830959&sem_campaign_id=19933265923&sem_ad_group_id=&sem_device_type=c&sem_keyword=&sem_matchtype=&sem_ad_id=&sem_network=x&sem_target_id=&sem_feed_item_id=&sem_location_id=9015344&sem_placement=&sem_placement_category=&PMax:DS:ShaverBatteries&gad=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwnMWkBhDLARIsAHBOftrCnTsuGbKMAllOsSP1V3d-7EmO-V-pwXcwvXzSnhJfjdHjuOr8KtAaAmkNEALw_wcB

I'm sorry; but I don't have one of those. However, I think they are all pretty similar, so this video might give you hints. Good luck!

I did this ,and my shave is running and won 't turn off sence i connected it. Can you put a battery in backward..or it wont run ?

There is some electronic circuitry for the charging, motor control, and power monitor. Hooking the battery up backwards could damage the circuitry. Because Norelco soldered in the battery, I'm guessing that they didn't add any diodes to safeguard against installing the battery backwards. I don't know if that condition is permanent or not.

Philips executives on suicide watch. Did you receive a cease and desist for teaching us gamers how to be anti-consoomer?

LOL. I think you can actually buy some replacement batteries from Norelco.

Thanks for commenting! It's always a struggle to balance the level of detail. Too much and people get turned off; too little and people get confused. I've been told that my videos are typically a little too detailed. What type of detail would you have liked to see?
