What if the fixture doesn't have a ground wire, but the mounting bracket does? Do I attach the mounting bracket ground to the box ground coming from the feed conductor?
@@HomeRepairHub yeah, box is metal, and the ground from the feed conductor is screwed down so i, presume, I attach the bare wire from the mounting plate up to that (not green) screw with the ground in the box.
@@astro0125 the screws on the fixture should ground it to the metal box and the as long as the box is grounded you should be okay. As I said I am no an electrician. I would also think the instructions would say something about how to ground the fixture if there is no ground wire.
Genius tip about screwing the ground wire to hold up the light. Great video, really saved me some aggravation.
Thank you so much - much better than written instructions

Ya. Is the box metal? I am not a electrician but I would guess that how the fixture is to be installed.

I almost jumped out the window following the included poorly written and diagrammed instructions. Watching this was easy cheesy. Thanks so much!!
I have purchased a similar light but the damn screws that hold the lamp on to the cover are too long.
That’s what I’m running into 😭
thank you
Thanks! Woulda been nice if the instructions mentioned threading the wires through the threaded pipe! Super helpful!
