I've watched hundreds of tiny house videos and I swear this is the first guy who actually mentions anything about soundproofing the bedroom. Always wandered how couples with kids enjoy time together living in a tiny house. Well done guy!

Not just soundproofing which is definitely important but also a door on the bedroom-. many tiny houses have open loft bedrooms for the adults & I am always thinking - " what about privacy?"

Thank you for soundproofing your room and having a door! I don't understand how other tiny house families all sleep out in the open.... Also, I think it's great to see a Latino family doing this. I'm from Bolivia and down in these parts tiny living is considered crazy. People here are very poor but I think part of the reason why is because they are striving for materialism and big houses, so they are never satisfied with what they have. (Seriously, a lot of hoarding going on over here.)

Hoarding here too. Some always want bigger and better it gives them drive and goals. Others are fine with what they have but, people do whats right for themselves to survive happily. This family does and is happy.

I love the fact that he didn't cut down on his priorities such as A big tv, refrigerator and washers.. He didn't compromise on these daily products which are must in every house.. And the Sofa is super comfy..

A big TV, fridge and washers (clothing, dishes??) are not a MUST or PRIORITY in homes. We live in a tiny home, roughly 456sq ft for four adults and manage fine with an under counter fridge with icebox plus a tiny washer/spinner for undergarments. Sheets/towels/workwear goes to the launderette weekly, daughter does a main shop one weekly with fruit buying every couple of days, it gets eaten quickly. No TV, can play dvds on a laptop if we're desperate but there's plenty to do in both the daytime and the evenings. We have no need to buy into the materialistic, commercial, consumerism that big business wants you to believe is ESSENTIAL for daily life. It isn't, which is why mankind has survived centuries without them all, it is only essential for the increasing BANK BALANCES of said big companies and so that the directors, managers etc can buy ANOTHER big car, second or third huge holiday house, a second or third yacht to spend their six months of holiday time in or on. All paid for by people like this family and others like them who have bought into the myth that they can't survive unless swelling the coffers of big business.
Finally, someone that addresses the issue of "mommy and daddy time". I always wonder how people deal with this.

Karl K, this is simply untrue. Usually, it’s due to both parties not putting in enough effort. The fact that you straight away look for faults in your partner not yourself is probably part of your problem. You can’t change others’ behaviour. Just your own.

I was thinking the same thing. When he didn’t know how to finish the sentence, she helped, and he watched as she spoke, with respect and admiration for her. You can tell they love and support each other tremendously. It was lovely to see, especially nowadays.

1 BIGGUN It doesn’t matter what an awesome house someone builds, there is always a snippy jerk who criticizes it for not being tiny “enough.” This house is just right for this family. Nobody else gets to choose for them. There are no Tiny House Laws.

Kathy Young a tiny home is normally less than 120 sqft. This is 500 so it classifies as a small house

Clever use of space especially the master bedroom at night and office in the day. Large bathroom is fantastic. 💕 the weather system for inside and the downdraft cooktop. Beautiful family that downsized to spend more quality time as a family 💜💚💙

That's what I was just scrolling through comments for. I noticed they had it on wheels, likely not by desire, but by law. Southern California, especially L.A. and it's neighboring counties make it soooo difficult to do any kind of alternative living (outside of car or van living). It's so forward and progressive here about certain things, but local laws seem to constantly sit stagnant on that issue- seems like it's all about money. Makes Californians that want to do this consider moving away to Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Florida, etc. to be able to get that freedom to just live (without $1300-1500 rents for studios and 1-bds).
Anyhow, that's enough of my rant, but I'm sure they're glad that the house is on wheels now- wildfire in the city directly next to them right now... at least they can drive it away.
Ok this couple thought of EVERYTHING!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this tiny house!! Sound proof bedroom. Murphy bed, a REAL TOILET none of that composting crap! A loft thats used as a closet and reading nook and even a guest bedroom. A HUGE refrigerator and actual washer and dryer thats large. The AWARD goes to this couple! Well done!!

Beautifully done. It's so large, bright and airy. I also fell in love with the kitchen (though for me a oven is a must). Wow their bathroom is larger then my apartment bathroom (I'm jealous). Please get a toilet paper holder (the bathroom floor while clean still has nasty germs).
Great job. Well planned. The placement of the couple's bedroom, away from their son's was well thought out. The sound proofing makes sense. I always wondered how anyone could live in a open loft and still be intimate with your significant other, and not worry about privacy. Also their ceilings in the lofts didn't seem as claustrophobic as in others. Their lofts are large with ceiling height that is truly impressive. Well done.
This is one of the best tiny houses I’ve seen. It looks like something my wife and I would want for our family. Great video!

The layout is well-thought-out and very well executed.
This is so well designed, very spacious for a tiny, I love that they didn't minimise on any of their electrical appliances, such as tv, fridge and sound proofing their room. I have never heard anyone sound proofing their tiny, it is such a breath of fresh air to hear that a couple have thought out everything in their home. Love this, it's gorgeous👌🏽🙏🏽

This is by far the best tiny house I've seen on your network. I like the fact they didn't scrimp on the shower, toilet, fridge, the cook range, washer and dryer, and the queen size bed. I like that they addressed the issue of soundproofing their bedroom. For 338 sq ft of living space, they even had additional space as a third bedroom for guests and extra closet space. Good job.
This guy is brilliant. He thought of everything that is important to everyday life. Privacy. Comfort. TV. Closet space. Big bathroom. Honestly, I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

I've watched numerous videos on tiny homes, this is the first time anyone has mentioned "mommy and daddy time". There are so many things I like about this build its insane. The table/island, both sinks, the creative step ladder/bar, the office/bedroom. Excellent job!

I’m sooo happy to see a latin couple. I’m a Latina and i hope to do this in the future. We are great builders (yes, the stereotype is true haha), and i hope to use the skills and ideas of my family to build my home in the future. Building a house is actually a skill that is taught back home and most men in my family have build their own home or modified their parent home :) I can’t wait and the soundproof idea is no surprise to me 😂
It's a very nice tiny house full of interesting ideas. I love the soundproofed bedroom for the parents but like every other tiny house I've seen, there is absolutely no concern about their child also having at least some measure of privacy.

Add me to the list of people impressed with this couple for soundproofing their bedroom so that they can have their time together without horrifying the kid. I have been watching a lot of tiny home videos the past couple of weeks and this is the *only* family to do that! There's no way I could be in a tiny home and not account for privacy for intimacy.
I absolutely love how they gave their son his own space, so many of these tiny home families only let them have a bed, and I definitely respect that they made sure to let him be able to live and grow!
Interesting storage and space decisions. The bed-office seems awkward but what matters is whether it works for them. I want to know more about how they insulated the exterior of the roof. I like the idea. I'd like to hear from them what is working out great and what they would change.

Guess what: most of the world already lives “tiny” or at least reasonably small. Huge mansions are definitely a North American feature.
@@evelina2363 you're absolutely right. The American way unfortunately is the bigger the better. More cars, bigger space, more things. The lavish life. Not everyone in America but the traditional thought process of "keeping up with the Jones's" I have been to India and trust and believe it a huge culture shock, very different. They Iive in villages, poverty rate is huge, power goes of every hour in the state just to conserve energy, still using oil lamps. So I do understand 100 %.
Bless you, you actually touched up on the importance of having privacy for couples! TY! Everyone just kind of ignores that.

This tiny home is the BEST design I have ever seen (and I’ve seen a lot of them!). I loved the the big closet, the Murphy bed and the sound proofing, in addition to many other things. They look so happy, and it’s great that they value the time they want to spend with their son. In addition, the little reading area was so cool! Truly, I think the husband’s design was EXCELLENT!

This is such a functional home! They thought of everything. I like the convertible office wall on the other side of a Murphy bed. I also appreciate the standing desk being used in the kitchen and dining area. So many cool parts!

"Smart" tiny homes needs to be explored further!!! They have done an awesome job of downsizing and yet retaining large pieces like that giant TV that they actually use and enjoy ( personally not a big fan of Cable TV) . Losing your job was a Blessing in disguise. You now have a home that is affordable and you did this before the lockdown came not too long afterwards. Good timing for sure. And this is one of the most beautiful of designs I have seen in a tiny home so far.

I love this family so much! You can see the genuine love and affection between the husband and the wife, and they truly did an amazing job prioritizing their needs into the build. They are the first tiny house couple I've seen addressing intimacy in a tiny house as well, which is amazing!
I like how they made everything functional and efficient. And they kept what material things they valued, like the big screen TV. I like the copper fixtures and sink too. The office under the bed is a great idea. The whole place was well organized with thoughtful decor.

Beautiful, love this tiny house, it is designed very well, love the murphy bed and the son's loft. So many wonderful things in this small footprint that doesn't feel small.
Wow this house is amazing! Great size, amazing use of space, lovely design and it doesn’t look cramped at all. I love the fact they were able to use all full sized appliances, a second loft for a giant closet with so much extra space left over, a big bathroom, kitchen and a really unique bedroom! Loved it!
A family with the right priorities, including taking care of themselves and their relationship! They get my vote for family of the year!
