Thank you! Brilliant video! You show the only window that is truly from a 2003 model, like mine.

Just watched this, went out to the car, removed the motor and found it was not bad as I thought. It was just in a bind. Had the motor in a shopping cart and deleted it. - Thank you!

in a bind? what does that mean. I am trying to fix my car window, too

Are all window motors for the 2003-08 corolla the same? My corolla was fabricated in South America rather than Japan and I don't know if that makes a difference because it did when I was changing the cv-joint because the cv's bar was thicker. I'm looking for the window motor for the front driver side and i wanted to be certain.

I would assume that that window motors would be the same. It makes sense that the CV axle would be different because it probably has a different engine/transmission setup than what other countries got.

the guy at AutoZone and one comment in a Toyota forum says the parts are different, so you must look up the first digit of your VIN to see where the car was made. T must mean North America.

I think my motor is fine because the window rolled down normally (smooth, quiet, fast), but then never came back up. I just bought this car used from a family member who rarely drove it and so rarely opened the back windows.
But, I should test the motor anyway. I'd like the buy a voltmeter or multimeter that can be used on both AC and DC (home and car). Is that possible? Also, because I don't want to fry anything in the car or have to reset the windows after disconnecting the battery, should i get a special test light? Some one said an LED test light is safer for my car than an incandescent test light. I think the multimeter may be more useful over all anyway, nit not sure of anything.

A multimeter is the way to go.
As far as the window goes try the following:
Try rolling it up with rear window control, also make sure that the window lock is not on, on the master switch.
If it's still not working. Check fuses.
If fuses are good I would recommend removing the door panel and tapping on the window motor with the plastic end of a screw driver, then retest.
If that doesn't work chances are the motor is shot but you can use your multimeter to further confirm that is bad.
If it hasn't been used a lot it could just be sticky and need a nice tap to remind it what it's supposed to do haha.

Hi guys, really helpful. I've got a question! Do any of you know if the wheel on ruclips.net/video/6zLaK4AeJoM/видео.html (min: '5:10'') is replaceable? That's my only issue with the regulator arm. Seem a waster if I need to get an entire new part for just that! Thanks and great work.

Hi there! Unfortunately I am not aware of any way to replace that part without just replacing the entire assembly. Good luck on your project! Please consider liking the video and subscribing to the channel.

Replaced the motor still not working do i need to do a rest or anything? Or maybe its an electrical issue?

    • @TheInteriorAutoMechanic
      @TheInteriorAutoMechanic  3 года назад +1

Here's a couple things to check. Make sure that your master switch lock all windows button is not pressed. I know that seems obvious but I've ran into this before. Next thing would be to check and see if the window rolls down off of the master switch if it's one of the other three doors then the driver's door. If it rolls down off the master switch but does not off of the particular door switch then you most likely have a window switch issue that's on that door. If you have any other questions feel free to message me. Good luck on your project!
