One of my flights (air Canada) from YYZ (Toronto) to YHZ (Halifax) was delayed because of something wrong with the plane so we sat in the plane for 1 hour and got relocated to another plane and pushed off 2hr 45min from departure time and we only got a $20 CAD food ticket that is valid for a year. You should try South African Airways business class (make sure it’s a long haul flight and on their a330 as the short ones are more of just a like premium economy) and you should also just in general fly Flysafair since they are both great airlines in South Africa

I flew between Miami and New York JFK on American Airlines Boeing 777-200ER and 300ER (no they weren't problematic) and I paid $500 or so for economy and the upgrade price was MUCH cheaper than this (sub $200) the only thing I regretted about that trip was not upgrading and it'll probably hurt me till I die.
It was only the domestic lounge in YYC, never the same or good as the international lounge. Little harsh considering they fleeced ya into upgrading bc of the larger aircraft used on the route. Normally they wouldn’t be flying a wide body from Calgary to Toronto.
Wonder why AC brought back Drinks and Food back to economy class. Porter Airlines, they are setting the trend for all Canadian Airlines. I had super elite status, could never upgrade - YYC, YVR to east always full. Same food years later, Warm Nuts always offered in white container. You are lucky you got food and drink, typcally in the last minute upgrade, you dont get extra aeroplan miles and a risk of not getting business class food. Looks the same many years later. Do they still have raisin toast for breakfast in lounge.
