Loury is a great guest and a really engaging speaker. This is a really touching story. I really respect honest and forthright people, and for all his faults, he is definitely honest.
I was thinking Glenn Lowry would be a good guest. Very interesting guy but kind of on the other side of the aisle. I also think you should check out Nate The Lawyer. Very interesting guy who is central/right leaning but does believe in facts when presented to him. Kurt (Uncivil Law) is close with him.
breath of fresh air compared to many of the young over-confident but empty guests (*cough* mister "I am an archaeologist, climatologist, science communicator")
I don't know if anyone read his book, but its story after story of him cheating on his spouse. To an insane degree. It's hard to value his "change" considering his wife has passed, who stood by all his selfish behavior, it feels like he has given himself a break
@@kentontudor imo most people dont change. the thing they change is their actions, not themselves, atleast this seems to be true in 99% of cases. People actually changing their inner emotions resulting from a given event is something that I don't think i have ever seen happen to another human in my personal life. People learn from their mistakes because they have learnt the results of their actions, they have not learnt to not want to do said action. I think gaslighting your emotional states is something that can work, under very extreme circumstances, but I think its make-believe for most people. i would be fairly confident in saying that 99,99% of people who have desires to cheat on another person will have those desires for their rest of their life. they "might" be able to stop doing that, but imo when people talk about "change", most dont even understand what they mean by "change".
Have you read the book? I agree with letting people change and evolve, but when the book entails 50 years of 10+ mistresses/infidelity, again and again, my perspective on this individual changes. Look, I know my opinion on the guy doesnt matter. I loved his interview with his son regarding the memoir. If his son forgives him thats awesome. Just sharing my perspective
@@spht9ng You fail to see it from his perspective and that's a you problem. For many people Obama could be described with a single word - disappointment. He fucked up so many things and ultimately the world is worse off because of him.
Keeping true to the name and building Bridges.
I look forward to listening to the entire discussion.

It sounds like you don’t believe in change or growth which, honestly, sucks for you.

So Clarence (its not an RV, its a Motor Coach) Thomas is next? Maybe Uncle Remus after that? 😮
I'd love to have Glenn as an uncle.
I feel like this guy rambles way too much.
He’s the guest here talking about his book? He is supposed to ramble in this setting…
