Unfortunately, the world has changed enough where a good chunk of the information is no longer accurate. If they made a new iteration of this show, it could work... but I don't think the enthusiasm would be there like it was when I was a kid. I don't care who you are, if you were my age, we all wanted to go on this show...
I love the part when Rockapella thought Greg was flat and he comes in to tell them its a joke and tells America that he's ok and the audience cheers for him.
At 9:16, looks like Greg is right beside himself. Also, I thought it was funny when Rockapella was hanging out with that flat Greg Lee dummy throughout the rest of the episode.

I think that's more just a cardboard figure than a dummy. Also, it doesn't look anything like Greg.
