    Today I finally get started on this new Polytunnel kindly given to me by First Tunnels, packed with hints and tips from start to finish you wont want to miss a second, really useful info if you are planning to put up your own Polytunnel in the coming months.

    I have now taken the plunge and started up a Patreon space here / greensideup This gives a little more Green Side Up content to those who wish to help,support or give back to me. It will be slightly different to the content here on my channel in that it will be an informal style with a warts and all approach, its me, but from a different angle.
    If you are enjoying my content, you can help me by buying me a packet of seeds. ko-fi.com/greensideup

    Links to products I use, that I have bought and can recommend. If you click one of these links and buy the same thing as me, you pay EXACTLY the same as me, but I earn a small commission from Amazon. Amazon pays this, not you! We are talking pennies here not pounds and I use it more as a shop window,so you can see the product. I always also advise you "shop around" first to find the best price you can.

    You know what Steve? I don't have a polytunnel, have never had one and can't as I just don't have the space. Yet, I STILL watch the video, in full and enjoy it all the same. Some very valuable and useful information. Star man 👍

    I've got 5 polytunnels, 4 covered with polythene and 1 with mesh for brassicas, (one from First Tunnels and the other 4 all have additional fittings from First Tunnels), plus a First Tunnels fruit cage.
    I've also relocated tunnels four times and helped a neighbour get their (First Tunnels) cover on.
    And I'll still be watching these videos.

    Steve here is a tip you might not know. When doing your ends make sure you fold the plastic down when you pucker it for the curve so the condensation drains out and doesn’t pool in the plastics folds.

    • @GreenSideUp
      @GreenSideUp  Год назад +2

      Thanks Joelle, I did know this actually but it is harder to achieve than one might think as I have found if you stop collecting condensation on the inside, you then collect rainwater on the outside. Sounds daft but that is how it goes.any bad areas for water collection after the tunnel is completed can be punctured with a small drain hole close to the door frame where it is not subject to high degrees of stretch, so it does not tear...Steve...🙂

    Inspired by Tony Smith, Emmas Allotment Diaries, Lifesabooch, Malcolm Kingswell, Jessie at Plot 37 and you. Not sure when I'm going to find time to watch all the blogs and still get the work done on my Allotment. Have access to a large plot (0.75 of an acre). Plan is to create a community resource. Have a few volunteers in the team so far and made connections with a local food bank and support groups for survivors of domestic violence and people suffering from anxiety. I'm going to record the progress, not initially for blogging reasons but for progress reporting. Thank you for inspiring me. My seed potatoes will start chitting this week I think. Red Duke of York is one of mine. No idea what I am letting myself in for. Very little experience. But I find myself really excited. Time to graft ......
