The service rep was lying to your about the car "learning a new owner" the BMS (battery management system) does everything to keep the battery safe. If the battery celsl are imbalanced the BMS will balance the battery during a charge. Discharge your battery to 10% then supercharge to 100%, that may rebalance your battery. Once that is done you will see if you gain any range but it is highly doubtful.
@@alphaandomegaproductions5073 Tesla owes you another battery pack, per the warranty, you should get range that is equal or better than what you had. It is right there in the warranty paper work. Since you are under time constraint in going back to New York I would hire a lawyer. Also email the service rep, don't talk over the phone, that way you have a record of what was said.
They finally replaced the battery in May. I had to file a warranty claim, it moved up the ladder, they admitted something was wrong and they replaced it. Haven't had any problems since. Ahh, Tesla.

Thank you for your advice. I did this and the range is the same.

The battery continuously balances and BMS calibrates. Very unlikely you will see any change by going below 20% or above 80%
Another thought is go back home, find another SC, far from town. Don't tell them the history in FL.
New drinking game on every "you know". I am drunk now
I know, you know?
@@alphaandomegaproductions5073 now I know 😉. All the best to you and hopefully this battery runs as expected.
Did you manage to get a new battery or repair?
