I spent 3 mos testing my unit before I did my review and found this budget machine blows away the "similar" one that lacks so many features at 1/3 the price! I think this is the best budget laser on the market. Good review, I enjoyed it! Oh! And the 2 metal metal air diverters inside the laser module is awesome! They move the air out the back opening keeping the lens clean!

Great and comprehensive review. I bought my LC-40 about a year ago with the 10w laser. It is a great machine for the money but I a few issues. The assembly build for the 10w laser is different to the 5.5w which results in the laser z axis clamping screw to run parallel to the x-axis module making it difficult to turn the screw tight. I've lost count of the times I've adjusted the laser height and tightened the screw only for it to work loose and the laser to fall onto the material. The other main issue, is the absence of a good rotary tool as the v2 rotary tool for the LC-50 is not compatible with the LC-40.

What laser safety glasses are recommended with this engraver? I could not find any information about the possible scattered radiation power.

I want to buy a laser to open a shop about adverteising . For example visit card or about advertising glass or wood . What would you supose to buy . I thank you if you or some body help me . I am reall confused
Does this support air assist?
Not that I know of at this time.
Decades ago I used to make lasers, but I am new to low power engravers. What do you think, Genmitsu Jinsoku LC-40 or Aufero 2 Laser Engraver?
I'd put the Genmitsu ahead of the Aufero 2 on the build quality and ease of assembly. The Aufero has an air assist option which is a plus. There are pros and cons to both. It's a shame neither have a 10w option though.
