That's why so many mechanics are leaving warranty repairs don't pay!! If all i ever work on is warranty work that pays 45-50% what it should bc the car manufacturers are making us fix their short comings on the back end for pennies!! Two months ago a new/ used dealership in Fresno tried to add on 11,000 dollars to a used 15,000 dollar car for a total of 26,000 dollars not counting tax and registration. I slammed my hand down on the guys desk and said thanks for wasting my afternoon! I found the exact same car but different color in Thousand Oaks for 15,000 That tells you everything about most of these car dealerships!

I was quoted $8,000-$10,000 for repairs. Mechanics are out of hand with their prices as well. I still drive. I was told by mechanic the government is trying to remove older cars off the road to sell newer cars!!

The reasoning was the low inventory because of Covid. That may have been so for a while but the greed of dealers and manufacturers got the better of them. I went last year to look at a Cadillac Escalade and was told the “adjusted market price “ on the Escalade was $40,000. I promptly said absolutely not to the salesman. I have bought new cars with a trade-in prior to the pandemic monthly payments $700 bought a 2019 jeep compass in 2018 after the pandemic these car has increased tremendously overpriced 78,000 for a truck is ridiculous and I was told that with a trade-in and my monthly payment would be $1200 a month. I said never mind. I'll just keep what I got. This has been a loss with all the maintenance with a $700 monthly payment and a 72 month term.
