It's not just that the cars are expensive, it is also they are not reliable! I've been a mechanic for over 10 years and I've not seen this many manufacturers recalls and just poor quality! That's why so many mechanics are leaving warranty repairs don't pay!! If all i ever work on is warranty work that pays 45-50% what it should bc the car manufacturers are making us fix their short comings on the back end for pennies!! If the engineers did their jobs we wouldn't be in this mess!! But it's all about $$$ the CEOs need their millions for doing nothing!!

Dealers and manufacturers have screwed themselves over with the “adjusted market price” added to the MSRP on the sticker. Usually that would be between $5,000 to $15,000. The reasoning was the low inventory because of Covid. That may have been so for a while but the greed of dealers and manufacturers got the better of them. I went last year to look at a Cadillac Escalade and was told the “adjusted market price “ on the Escalade was $40,000. I promptly said absolutely not to the salesman. A vehicle with an interior made mostly of plastic wasn’t even worth the sticker price. Let the dealers close and the cars rot.

I don't feel sorry for the car market. I bet the CEO's didn't take a pay cut. Can't sell cars that are 25% over priced to begin with. Time will tell. Just remember when people stop paying the high prices then maybe the market will follow.

You pay 60,000 for a truck that has problems with the engine at 70,000 miles , something is wrong here… and it’s across with all mamufaturers .

When the average USA income is 37,600 dollars how do these automakers expect anyone to buy their cars after the 1 percent rich people buy the 100,000 dollar cars!
Even if the automakers make cars again between 20K to 30k most people will have to make sacrifices in living to make monthly payments plus insurance plus gas
    What are these automakers thinking?

I have no sympathies for these car dealers. I have bought new cars with a trade-in prior to the pandemic monthly payments $700 bought a 2019 jeep compass in 2018 after the pandemic these car has increased tremendously overpriced 78,000 for a truck is ridiculous and I was told that with a trade-in and my monthly payment would be $1200 a month. I said never mind. I'll just keep what I got. This has been a loss with all the maintenance with a $700 monthly payment and a 72 month term.

I bought a brand new tundra truck for 30k back in 2001.
Now I can't even buy a brand new tundra truck for the same price because it's 80k-100k now. 😮😮.
Toyota can keep it in storage. Lol

I'm own two older model cars, 2011 & 2014. One of which has been sketchy for reliability. A German brand and an American brand. Guess which on has given me the most grief? 😊
