We did a 12 hour hike up Acatenango Volcano in Guatemala. It was definitely tough but so worth it to get to see an active volcano from the top!

I did the hike last year in November and it was absolutely incredible. These explosions at night are crazy. But we stayed for the night and hiked up to the summit for sunrise at 4 am, which was so worth it as well. Also when I was up there the whole mountain was covered in Flowers, so beautiful. The videos you got from the eruptions are amazing.
i have hiked all 36 volcanos in Guatemala and you don't need much skill, you need to have the right gear so it is not so difficult... I am glad you did this. it is an unforgettable experience. Imma say something though, being Guatemalan one tends to forget how amazing these things that I find normal are until I get to see it through someone else's eyes. anyways welcome to Guatemala!

Since you guys are going to live in Costa Rica, there’s a lot of hikes that you can do and one that definitely you guys have to do is hike the chirripo, the tallest mountain in Costa Rica, is a must for every tico to go there, is beautiful and a great experience.
Nature is so incredible! This vlog brings back so many memories of our buddymoon when we almost died on this hike haha. Still one of my favourite adventures. Can't wait to have more adventures like these together in CR xoxo

Now that I know you guys are willing to hike this far, I’m going to drag you on some of my favorite hikes in Jackson. The drone footage was worth it! Awesome to see the crater from above.
I remember being in Sicily when mount Etna was active. Although I watched from the comfort of my hotel balcony! On another trip we went up Etna. But on a cable car, then a jeep. I am not up for all that hiking! This must have been wonderful to see from so high up!

We have been staying here for the past month and have been watching the volcano most nights erupting! This video gave us so much inspiration and we can't wait to do the hike soon!
This brought back so many memories for us as we did this hike just before the pandemic started in 2020. We can't believe you hiked up AND down in the same day! Kudos to you both. That was the toughest hike we had done in our lives, but was also the most mindblowing. We don't blame you for not shooting an outro, it took us weeks to recover too!😴😴

What an Epic hike, the views of the active volcano were 😍 Reminds me of when we hiked Mt. Ijen in Indonesia, it was the most challenging hike I have ever done, but the reward and sense of accomplisment makes it all worth it!

Looked AMAZING!!! I remember doing a brutal exhausting hike with my husband on our honeymoon a few years ago in Chania Greece. We booked to hike the Samaria Gorge, it was overall about 22KM hike down into the gorge but has the most breathtaking and humble views. TOTALLY reminded me of Jurassic Park haha BUT amazing. If your ever in Greece and looking for a challenge I would suggest that hike also. The altitude wouldn't be like this hike, however it is a WHOLE body workout for sure.

I love Guatemala. Santa Maria Volcano by Quetzaltenango, Xelaju, is a lot of fun. If you go, chill at Las Georginas after. Lago Atitlán and Tikal are also very worth a visit.
We love Costa Rica too. We've been looking at moving down for a while now.
You've peaked my interest with all the drama you mentioned, I assume, going south through El Salvador and Honduras. Glad you're both ok and I am eager to hear your stories.

If you guys want to stand on the edge of an active volcano that spews lava VERY regularly (also that you don't have to walk the whole way up to!) head to Tanna, Vanuatu. You wont regret it!
