The Jeep Avenger is the 4x4 brand’s first electric car and it comes with a little bit of controversy given it’s front-wheel-drive only for the time being. Regardless, the Avenger still comes with several drive modes for slippery conditions and has a strong 250-mile range to boot. But can it overcome its high base price and a raft of compelling rivals? Rich finds out.

I think Jeep is on to a winner with this.
I quite like the concept of this model, with the Off Road styling, but small enough for our tiny poorly maintained roads here in the UK. With a dedicated charger or a local charging network on the way to/from work this would be a decent car to get. Much less maintenance than an fossil fueled car, less stress (maybe) and for now, no tax.
Hillman Avenger / Chrysler Avenger / Talbot Avenger / Dodge Avenger / Jeep Avenger.... this name-badge is down to its last four lives!
We went and tried it out me 6ft 1 and wife n kids and it felt very tight in the back with very little leg room in the back to nearly none behind me.
Good review so don’t mean to sound critical but… what is it with the car industry and the word ‘urban’? Why is this car suited to urban settings and not rural? I live in a rural setting and my requirements fit the classic urban car trait - small, manoeuvrable, nippy etc.
You're absolutely right - many of the attributes that make a car good to drive in town also apply to rural environments. When we reference 'urban' we're referring to low speed stuff; stop-start traffic, speed humps, potholes etc. But yes - being small, manoeuvrable and nippy have their benefits elsewhere too.
@@DrivingElectric Yeah, didn't mean to aim my beef at you in particular - I hear it a lot! Thanks for the good quality video! (from a frustrated village bloke)
I thought an AWD model was rumoured?
Indeed, there's one on the way!
@@DrivingElectric Just been reading that 4x4 has been pushed back to 2024.and might not be BEV.
Visionnaire !
soft materials all around the dash? really
It's not a Jeep and the poor bloody thing Is electric....obsolete already.!!😢
You still have to take your eyes off the road to use those physical buttons. Why design it that way??
Overall quality is poor. And interior only has hard plastics.
