    OK, here is the update, for blender 3.6 or 4.2. Now google 3d tiles use emission not color, so when selecting the properties in principle baker try emission not color, or just use auto detect. Otherwise you will get a fully blacked image.

    every other tutorial does not include a plugin or a simpler way to do this, but you, my man, fixed every issue

    I'm the (somewhat inexperienced lol) art lead for a small startup studio, we were struggling with immense file sizes from Character Creator exports- this just completely solved the problem, thank you so much! Stupendously underrated video.

    Ya gotta love how basically every single blender tutorial, this one included, assumes you have a vast amount of pre-knowledge about blender's seemingly infinite list of UI tricks and hotkeys.
    I physically cannot follow along because too many steps are assumed knowledge.

      That's why "Baking is intermediate technique". Start from the basics, work your way in and THEN follow more advanced tutorial. Nothing wrong with the tutorial itself, one can't just bake without knowing how to manually unwrap a model, or how to bridge edge loops, for instance. That's things you gotta figure out yourself first

    why would you leave in the mistake of you not telling us to keep the old UV map on active render? Could've been an easy edit.

    If textures keep overlapping after all the efforts, make sure to select all meshes (Press AA) and then do UV Smart Unwrapping.

      What about weird lines on cylinders? My normals always seem to get fucked up somehow, even when baking normals with simplebake, dunno if it's a blender 3.5 thing or not.

    yes but is there a method how i can join all materials into one slot without baking it ? Because i want to keep the shader information ( Normal, Bumpmap, Roghness)

    TIP: if you are making a huge city or huge maps i suggest you to use 4096 (or above if supported)

    - On "Detect", I'm getting "AttributeError: "NoneType" object has no attribute "Nodes".

    I followed the video completely, but the result is an alpha-like b&w image (I only selected color in the bake list). Could anyone tell me what might be the issue?

    So this Addon just magically knows how to move faces around in the UV Map to fit the image texture and look like the original model?

      Technically it's the other way around. You're using the UV map you generate to tell it where to place image textures, combining several files into one. It's like an auto-compositor.

    the tab for your principled baker physically doesn't exist when i look for it in the same position you have it, there is no way to access it for me

    this looked so bad for me xD
    trying to make only 1 texture from a lot of them i can make it smaller but for some reason this looked like Trash! if enyone or maybe a updated video on this would be grate! trying to do this for beam NG drive sence my map has a lot of UVs

      Only if you don't know what you're doing. Trying to bake textures into one map is an advanced blender feature.
