Excellent demo. I use this workflow a lot as well. I just got a Zoom LiveTrak L-12 mixer audio interface and am experimenting with sending fx processed loops from LoopyPro back to the L-12 and use other hardware synths to play on top of the LoopyPro loops and sending those back to LP.
Yeah that’s true. I use to do that a lot back in the days but it got a bit messy to keep track of what is audio and what is a synthtrack. And also if you got a click in the beginning of the loop it wasn't that easy to fix it. But I guess there will be some smart way to do this in the upcoming community firmwares.
@@theperfectworkflowyes automation view can now do micro fade in of volume. So in my mind the iPad is unnecessary and this could all be achieved in the deluge, just need to change row colors to keep track of what you are working with!
Very interesting. Always wanted a Deluge, and the iPad is a great companion/instrument in itself. The name of your channel is interesting, we’re subbing!!
I have another video on my channel that shows how this is connected but with op-xy instead of the deluge. The first setup I show is similar to this. But the deluge has dedicated audio and midi cables going to the audio interface. And you don’t need to mess with multiroute audio settings. Tell me if this helps!
Very nice workflow! ...just by the by: the CPU indicator isn't a reliable indicator of a problem you can hear. Often what's done to cull voices is to hasten a long release that's already inadible - and if it's SD card reads that are the issue you can have glitches without the CPU-indicator flickering at all. Because of these reasons the indicator was removed in 1.2 - it causes more worries and false positives than it helps.
In deluge you need to go settings->MIDI->CLOCK->OUT and set it to ON. In Loopy Pro you need to go to the settings-menu and then Synchronization and under MIDI Clock Sources you select the audio interface that the deluge is connected to via MIDI OUT.
Personally, I hate to rely on something like a laptop, iphone, ipad for live........if you ever end up doing outdoor shows, they can be a real pain. I've had digital devices overheat and just lock up in hot weather, and it can be very hard to see those screens in bright daylight, etc. Hardware, if well chosen, is always a more solid choice. (this is coming from someone who toured full time, pro, on 'the big stage' , which might not relate at all to your live productions
Yeah I’ve heard from those who do a lot of live shows that the iPad is not ideal and I get that. On the stage you’d want something that you can fully trust in any conditions. I’m just a home composer that has never have played live so I haven’t experienced that side of it.
I was listening closely to hear a click and right then you said "you will never hear a click" haha! This is awesome!
Yeah it's like magic, every time 😍
Very good - I’ve had Loopy Pro for a while but never really used it. Will absolutely try this out now. (Great track, too). Subscribed!
Thank you so much! 🙏 My music does not get that much attention so it’s always nice to hear that someone likes it 😊
@@theperfectworkflowit’s great - dark electro goodness!
Yeah that’s the vibe I was going for! 😊

Thanks mate! 😊 That sounds really interesting! I’m thinking of getting the new L-6 mixer and maybe doing something similar.
@ I chose the L-12 because I needed the inputs for my synths. The L-6 can run on batteries so that as bonus for mobile recording.
you can resample and play them from Deluge also

Thanks mate! Yeah I’ll try to post as many nice workflows as I can find 😊
Wow that looks like a great combo , makes me want an ipad to go with my deluge. Cool video.
Thank you for the kind words! Yeah it's definitely worth checking out this combo! :)
inapiring me to try loopy pro. but also, loving the spooky composition.
Thanks mate! 😊🙏 It means a lot that you liked the music!
You could plug the Deluge out into the Digitone 2 audio ins and then use the digitone as a sound card.
Yeah true! I did try that and it worked ok but there was something that annoyed me, can’t remember what it was.
@@theperfectworkflow I have both. I will try it out.
I would love to understand how your connections are :)
thank you

Aha thanks for clarifying that! 😊 Are you a community firmware developer?
Hi, how are the Deluge & Loopy synced? Do you have to change the settings for the Deluge & Loopy to get sync working? Thanks!
In deluge you need to go settings->MIDI->CLOCK->OUT and set it to ON.
In Loopy Pro you need to go to the settings-menu and then Synchronization and under MIDI Clock Sources you select the audio interface that the deluge is connected to via MIDI OUT.
@@theperfectworkflow Excellent! Thanks for explaining that! 👍🎛🔊

And the deluge crashes sometimes..
That happens to me regularly........especially with the new, community firmware updates......
