Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
    How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
    Never quit,
    Alex
    FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

    This dude says:
    - Sometimes you spend time training someone and then you realize they are dumb
    And I Love Alex’s response:
    - Maybe you’re bad at picking people or bad at training people
Taking responsibility and trying to improve instead of blaming others, that’s it!

When you take a step back and look at it, life is a strange and lovely experience. I'm grateful to be here with you all. Working with a financial expert may genuinely set you up for success in life. I'm glad I was able to contact my coach, Rodger Michael Karl, earlier this year since, while others were complaining about the downturn, I was busy cashing out from my portfolio, eventually making over six figures in the first quarter alone...

Man, this are a different level of Mozi Nation content for me.
Seeing you guys interact casually breaks the glass cealing for me of 'idol' and make's It feel more relatable and achievable.
Will sum to other's great perspective of loving to see a normal day to day.
As you noticed in 15:58, Mozi Nation people present more than gym owners. It is because you guys have such a powerful impact and there are not known options for non-gym owners that we will start flowing to your speaking engagements.
I am already in waiting list for Gym Con 2024.

I promise I will work on it with the best of my ability… The frequency blasting had been giving me a bad headache and slurring my speak and making my vision all weird… like I can see 2-3 of something all blurred… I don’t think who ever is blasting all those frequencies at me gives a fuck that it’s impairing me badly. I’ve been trying to fight it all day… The only thing I knew to do, is to raise my frequency by a lot. It stops the headache until my vibration goes back down then it’s loud and head splitting.

9:00 Very impressed with your response to this individual around attracting top talent. Seemed like the guy asking the question was quick to blame whoever he hired and you responded in a way that made the situation more controllable/manageable without offending him or further blaming the employee as well. I've seen some of your other interviews and was concerned about what kind of working environment you provide to your employees but that interaction alone seems like you are a reasonable guy who offers fair solutions to all parties.

14:00 I feel this one. I started doing business at 18, 3 year’s later I still barely get paid from it. I continued learning though, and I’m taking more serious measurements now to grow the business. I’m positive that the following months/year+ will “finally” produce the results I’ve been looking for all these years. I’m ok with it taking time, as long as I get there while still being young enough to enjoy it.

    >Not a single question about gym
Yeah. People nowadays are obsessed with money itself. They want to know how to be rich and they go to this kind of conferences not to understand how to build a business. They came in search of the "magic pill". They don't want quality for their product, don't want to reach new levels of service. They want to know how to make money, not how to build a solid business. That's why they don't interested in what inside your business, but only talk about ways to earn profits. The sad truth.

Key lessons I got from this video:
Packaging is key- maximize a niche but then grow past it as quickly as possible.
    Learn to earn
Outsource- 15min increments and write out what you did in each one. Then outsource the biggest block of time for the least amount of money
The difference between help and manipulation is intention.

FEEDBACK: I much prefer the day in the life video that was posted on Leilas channel. It included a lot more of the behind-the-scenes mundane parts of your life and also the psychology associated with how she was thinking about those areas. This was visually entertaining but I feel that I only learned 10% as much as from watching the other day in the life video.
